Help!!!
Something just happened to my phone and I have no clue what!
I have a iphone 3G, jailbroken and unlocked. With T-mobile.
I was minding my own business, and I got that text message sound, picked up my phone and my phone was already on the home screen but most of the apps were faded except those on the icon dock. And that little circle loading sign was in the middle. Then after about 30 seconds my phone turns off and the apple logo comes on for about a minute. Everything seems fine then but now I have no service. I looked at my network settings to see if 3G turned on, it didn't. I tried reinstalling ultrasn0w, but it said something not found click ok, restarted spring board. And now all it says is searching... in the top left. I dunno what happened!!!! Help! I dont wanna restore my phone either.
edit: kk i got it to work now haha. Just did a simple restart haha.

I went to my sister's birthday and my brother-in-law's brother was there and he had the iPhone4 so I was showing him how I JB'd mine and how easy it was. So he decided to do it to his and then we spent pretty much the whole night looking at JB stuff. I recently installed intelliscreen and sbsettings and he did sbsettings, mywi and my3g. We kept trying to do a factime convo but couldn't get it to work, apparently mine isn't working. However he was able to facetime someone over 3g and it look pretty good. They said something about an occasional frame dropping but other than that it look just as good as it did on wifi (we tried wifi first)
So my facetime isn't working for some reason and also can't download any roms for the nes4iphone app. I do the search find the download click on download and nothing happens. Anyone else use nes4iphone?

Read on engadget that Frash is up for the 4. Flash animation works but they haven't done vids so no Hulu. Of course it's an alpha so it'll be glitchy and I'd definitely hold off on installing it.
Ok here's a hack for Netflix on the iPhone if you can't wait. Seems to work on Touch, 3G, 3GS, and 4. Even a video showing it.

So after some quick thinking, I found a way to do it...here is my copy/paste/change method of doing so. Thanks to the original writer at TMCNet....here we go...
Things you will need:
Jailbroke iPhone4
Open SSH or access to / via USB cable
Netflix for iPad (Free in Appstore)
Perfect Browser ($0.99 in Appstore
Paid Netflix account
Starting with the copy/paste/edit...
1) Open iTunes on your PC / Mac.
2) Download Netflix for iPad from iTunes
3) In iTunes, right-click the Netflix for iPad application & click 'Show in Windows Explorer' or 'Show in Finder'
4) Rename Netflix 1.0.4.ipa to Netflix 1.0.4.zip.
5) Extract the entire ZIP file somewhere.
6) Go into the extracted folder, then the Payload folder. There you'll see the Netflix.app folder containing the entire app.
7) Copy Netflix.app folder to your iPhone using SSH. After you SSH into your phone (I use Cyberduck on Mac), navigate to:
/private/var/stash/Applications/, which is where the Netflix.app goes.
8) Change permissions on the Netflix.app folder to 755 using this command: (On mac using Cyberduck click on 'Go - Open in Terminal App' then login
chmod -R 755 Netflix.app
Note: If you use the Terminal app on the iPhone to change permissions, make sure to run "su root" or else you will get this error: "Terminal problem. (operation not permitted)"
9) Respring (or restart) your phone.
10) In the App Store buy Perfect Browser for $1.99. When it is installed open it and click the wrenches for settings then click on Desktop Rendering then choose Safari iPad and click the Green Check Mark to accept the changes.
11) Now in Perfect Browser, browse to Netflix: Rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month! Free Trial, login, and find a movie to watch. You will then see Perfect browser close and the the Quicktime player will open and VOILA! Movies to go

I just had an idea that I can get the iPhone 4 as an upgrade and flip it on craigslist. Meanwhile, I reposted my expired 3GS listings from last month to see if I get any worthwhile bites.
2-4 weeks and 3-4 weeks etc.
also, they are supposed to send you an email.
i ordered a speck case but i think even both speck cases had different shipping times...
I got a shipment notice, and it showed up a day early.
I ordered the Griffin Reveal Etch.

I'm surprised my 4 doesn't put up that warning. I mean sometimes it gets very hot when I'm surfing the net.
I notice it really does it when their is cell service but the data connection is poor, so the phone just sits there trying to load the page.

I'm starting to prefer the jailbreak. Mywi is the shit! Sbsettings, also the shit! Intelliscreen has proved itself pretty useful. I now no longer miss it when someone adds an event to my work exchange calendar. Before I had to manually launch the calendar app just to check if someone added something to my exchange calendar which doesn't happen very often but when it does I can't miss it and since it happens so infrequently, honestly I never think to check. Now with intelliscreen it puts that event right on my lock screen so I can't miss it as soon as someone adds it.
What bugs me is that the features of intelliscreen, Mywi and SBSettings are pretty much standard features on Android phones and most other smartphone OS yet the iPhone doesn't have it cause they don't want to mess up the pretty lock screen with actual useful information. I still have to Jailbreak my iPhone 4 and spend $30 on JB apps to be on par with my brothers Nexus One with Froyo.

aside from sbs settings so i can switch off between 3G and edge faster.
no need for me.
i have no need for mywi.
intelliscreen.. i never get anything important. so red circles for new email and push notification for facebook is good enough for me

i dont even know why i have a damn smartphone anymore...

Apple today released updated versions of its iOS operating system, addressing a significant security vulnerability in the way Safari handles PDF files on Apple's mobile devices. The new versions, which arrive as iOS 4.0.2 for the iPhone and iPod touch and iOS 3.2.2 for the iPad, should also disable the Web-based JailbreakMe service that first exploited the vulnerability.
More proof that Verizon is getting iPhones in Janary

I'm pretty sure I'll sell it and keep my 3GS.
