What work??? With a magnetic flap open and grab at the same time. When done, insert the phone, and the flap will close automatically.

Besides that padding on a flap is much better than any skin application, IMO.

Plus the phone is naked during use... a plus IMO because I don't care for the logoing on the shells and covering up what you bought.

I dunno its just my opinion. I dont really put cases on my phones. Never had one for my NS. Used one for my iphone 3g for a ltl and took it off.

my photosphere attempt.
turned out pretty good this time around, using your advice mike. By swiveling the phone and not my body. Just few small errors but pretty good for like 6 or 7 images.

I think with a build.prop trick it can. However, CM 10.1 and other custom ROMs will most likely have it available by default.

Looks like Franco just released a Screen Color Tuning app for the Nexus 4. Requires Root and its not free:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...displaycontrol

He said he'll be bringing it to his Franco.Kernel updater in the future so if you already have the app, maybe just wait until he does. I'm guessing he's automatically changing the values and setting to auto-boot via the app. You might be able to find what exactly those commands are and manually input them into terminal. The downside is it won't be automatic unless you create a script and your ROM/kernel supports init.d.

I'm just wondering now how much better would photos taken with the S3 or potentially OneX's better camera software would look vs. the N4.

I still don't know why I fawn over camera tech in phones. Camera usage on my phone is only like 10% lol. I guess it's just nice to know that you can take awesome pictures if you need to.

so i went to a new rom that seems to be more active than my old rom (now iknow what you are talking about tsxy luster)

anyway, this one has some of the samsung apps i dont care about.

Is it fine to just go into the root of the phone and rename the apps i dont want, for example. S voice.apk to s voice.apk.bak, or just delete it completely. Is there any harm in doing that?? I did that with the camera and gallery app so i dont have two cameras now.

I also lost 4.2 keyboard, with this ROM :/ i'm using swiftkey 3 for now, which is good just doesnt have the gesture typing. Where can i get 4.2, although i may try out swiftkey for a bit.

ohh last thing, whats your guys favorite third party free launcher so non pro versions. Nova, holo, whatever else there is out there

Why not just disable them inside the Manage Apps of Settings? Unless you need the space? If you can disable them and there's no errors, then there's no harm in deleting them off completely.

You should be able to flash any of the 4.2 Keyboard apks:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1964814

I use Nova for my Nexus 7 and Apex comes a close second. ADW became very complex for whatever reason. Too many options and its not as user friendly any more.

I believe you should be able to disable any system app but in ICS 4.0 and JB 4.1 you had to uninstall the updates first. In 4.2 you can disable without uninstalling updates.

As far as the S apps, I haven't used any of them so I can't tell you. All I heard was that S-Calendar is crap but luckily Google put the stock Calendar in the Play Store now.

Yea i was able to prety much disable everything but s memo, so i'll just do that from a file explorer.

Hmm I know we all use chrome, or i think we do. But looking into it, i think dolphin browser may be as fast if not faster than chrome. I dunno they are close. Didnt know dolphin was that good though.

Yeah Chrome is a little clunky. Supposedly, they're going to catch up to its Desktop relative by early next year. I use it mainly to view websites in Mobile mode. For everything else, I use the Stock Browser on my Galaxy Nexus and Holo Browser on my Nexus 7 (HoloWeb 2.2 Beta is the latest. You can grab it by going into settings then About, click on the download button in the top right and choose beta. Haven't seen any problems with the beta version and I've been using for a week and some days now.):

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1980630

It is based off Tint Browser and you can install one or the other as they share the same package name:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m9yZy50aW50Il0.

^HoloBrowser and Tint are based of the stock browser and just as fast but much more lightweight. The interface isn't as great as the stock browser with its quick controls nor is it better than Chrome's but if speed is what you want without the privacy concerns that Dolphin brings, check them out.

GMail got updated with pinch to zoom for all Android 4.0+ devices today:

http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/12...d-4-0-devices/

Don't forget you have to enable it first inside the settings menu. Not sure why its not by default.

XBMC released Beta 2 of their app for Android today:

http://xbmc.org/natethomas/2012/12/0...-with-android/

It doesn't work on Android 4.2+ devices so I haven't been able to test it out. Not sure if hardware acceleration is working on compatible devices but I'm reading both things. That it is working and that it isn't working. I'm guessing people aren't watching 720p videos and thinking that it does work. Beta 3 is supposed to come out soon to fix the 4.2+ crashes.

Compatibility list found here:

Samsung is supposedly going to bring the Multi-Window/Tasking update that's currently found in the Note II to the S3 but I'm not sure if its in this update or not. (Probably not or else it would've been mentioned.)

They haven't mentioned anything about it yet. Hopefully, its an upgrade but I wouldn't mind paying for that.

Well the T-Mobile S3 got the Jelly Bean update first then Sprint and now AT&T. The only one holding out is surprise surprise Verizon. Its probably not too far off though. The multi-tasking update has been showing up in leaked S3 Jelly Bean updates so it should be coming soon as well. XDA should have it if you really want it.
