This interesting for the current phones without NFC:

Wonder how much more these cards will costs. Then again, since everything is moving to the cloud, you don't really need that big of a space in the future.

Lol. Yeah it is. New report is saying the update will be released on the 3rd in honor of the Evo 4G's anniversary:
Source: http://briefmobile.com/gingerbread-f...asing-june-3rd
For many EVO users, this day is long over due. The confirmation and release date of gingerbread has been revealed. June 6th will be when the pushing of the update will begin, however EVO users can manually update by just checking for the software update beginning on June 3rd.
Not much is known about the update, but there are major fixes that will be well appreciate by the masses such as; battery not charging after dying and the fix of the Spanish texting bug. The software version is 4.22.651.2, but no indication of whether the update will be 2.3.3 or 2.3.4. Just make sure all you EVO users keep checking in until you get the update!

That phone is so versatile. Its the one phone I wish I would've picked up back in the day instead of the other ones I've had. Do a triple boot into Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7 and Android. lol. I'm amazed at how much the devs have optimized Android to run on that phone.

Getting decent reviews. Will check one out when they are released. Though, I may hold out for the Hercules (depending on its release date).
That review says the bootloader will be locked, which is not necessarily true. Last week, HTC's CEO announced they will no longer be locking their bootloaders. It's been confirmed that the EVO 3D bootloader will be unlocked, so I am assuming it will be the same for the Sensation.

I had one for a couple months. Should have hung on to it. WinMo 6.5 sucks and at the time there was no talk of Win Phone 7 working on it, so I sold it and went with a G2.

i would say most of the time is taking the research to find the proper method that works, and after that its fairly simple if you can find a step by step guide. I would say it took me about the same time for my first times. Although i ran into a problem with my method for rooting my nexus s, but doing it another way solved that.

Just follow the instructions. Very easy to follow.
I would easily pick the GS2 over the Sensation, but I'm on TMO and we're not getting it. Will have to hold out for the Hercules, which will be released in the next few months. It's basically the same as the GS2 with some upgrades and NFC capabilities.
Quick search at XDA looks like you can use the SuperOneClick Root method:

Very easy to root. Took less than 15 minutes. Most of the time was spent reading.

Rooting and flashing ROMs gets addicting once you get the hang of it. The nice thing about it is that most Android phones are rooted and flashed in the same manner just a few tweaks here and there. If there was a rehab for ROM flashers I would be in it. Haha. I'm glad there are nightlies for me to flash every night, although the buildbots are down at the moment. Been flashing everything XDA has been putting up until then. lol.
I'm so addicted now... I want everyone else to be high on this android crack too! LOL

all over this!I just flashed a new ROM that i used to use when got google music, because for some reason it wouldnt install on my other ROM maybe because it had the MIUI musics player
Its actually reallky good. It takes 10min to buffer the whole movie before it plays but it looks good. the quality isnt HD like it is on wi/fi but its not super pixelated like you'd think it would be with 3g. 4g im sure doesnt buffer like 3g. I'd think its like wi/fi. Ive been watching a lot of netflix movies this past week. This app is great if your phone can handle it. It'ts said you need 1ghz processor. I'm gonna try it on my Mom's LG Optimus S and see how it looks.

Gingerbread which is Android 2.3. Is out for EVO 4G. You can get now or wait for over the air update June 6th.
Here's the quote from Android Central...
-:PLEASE READ:-
Before you go and post about an issue you are having check this list to see if it is documented already and if a fix has been found. There are too many "My Netflix isn't working!" and "I cannot get rid of Voicemail Notifications!" posts in this thread that could have been avoided if the user had just read this first post. Thank you.
I will try and keep this post updated with new things as they come in.
New Apps/Features
+Downloads App which looks to be a shortcut more or less to what you have downloaded recently.
+TeleNav GPS Navigation which replaces Sprint Navigation. It offers a standard free service and a paid for $4.99/month.
+When turning off the phone you get the option to Power Off, Airplane Mode and Restart now.
+Turning on the screen now fades in instead of just popping on.
+Pocket Mode under sound settings increases the ring volume when phone is in your pocket or a bag.
+Flip for Speaker sound settings allows you to activate the speaker phone during calls by turning your phone over.
+Group Message feature added under the stock SMS App.
+The ability to enable Animated GIFs within the stock Browser.
+Better Copy/Paste functionality.
+SIP Calling.
+Volume rocker sound for increases/decreases in volume has changed.
+When receiving a call, the answer slider is colored red across the top (swipe up to decline) and green across the bottom (swipe down to answer). Although this functionality has been there, the color indicators are new.

Got around to rooting my G/f's tab and the Overcome experience is much better than stock and 2x as fast. I just convinced myself the 1st gen Tab is still a good bet and plan on purchasing another sometime next week. (Samsung Galaxy Tab T-Mobile) Here's some screens:
4g speeds

Rooted

Spent some time customizing her home screens (ADW)

Netflix!!!

^Pretty cool. Have you tried the Google Video Talk Hack? It seems to work fine on Galaxy Tabs running Gingerbread according to XDA users. More info here:

The noob-friendly method:

Also give CyanogenMod 7 a try. It'll blow your mind even more if you think a stock custom build is fast. The great thing about the Tabs is that they don't have to worry so much about the Modem issues so almost everything works already.
