And yet its still not something I would base my phone purchase on...

Yeah its awesome so far. SwiftKey still has the best word prediction. Not surprising since it sifts through your SMS, Facebook, GMail and Twitter if you let it. Love how it can create sentences for you simply by tapping words. Makes typing so much easier and now with the swype capability makes it that much better.
yupp, i like the space feature, but its something i need to get used too haha. I'm just so used to lifting with a space, its like i finish the word i stop and think and i'm like ohhh alright lets move to the spacebar lol.
It seems to work better on larger screens like tablets. The flow through space is a lot easier on my Nexus 7 to follow through with than on my Galaxy Nexus.
If you guys missed it, Snapseed has been finally released for Android and is now free on iOS:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/12...ow-on-android/
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tware.snapseed
It has a direct share to G+ button (You know who they're competing with here.
) The interface is pretty nice, I have to say and the effects are quite abundant.

Here's an app called Ink Over Apps that mimics the function of the S-Memo for people trying to stay away from TouchWiz:

Ink Over Apps lives in the notification bar, and lets you draw over a live image of your screen using a floating toolbar (as opposed to taking a screenshot and then drawing on it), which makes it quite unique. The app can be called up at any time simply by pulling down the notification bar and hitting "Show."
Combined with one of those 3rd-party styluses, you could have a passable markup tool. This could be pretty handy for showing a relative how something on Android works, presentations, or marking up text on your tablet. It's just $0.99, and given that there really isn't any other app quite like this one out there at the moment (weird, right? I looked, too), that's money well spent.

Wow Team Hacksung is good:

^International S3 running CM 10.1. They replaced all the closed sourced drivers that Samsung won't provide with opensourced audio, gralloc, and hwcomposer. They're saying its 90% as fast as the real thing and I'm sure they can get it to 100% given a little more time. Just amazing what these devs can do.

The screen is ridiculously awesome, and the build is nice especially given the screen size without added bulk. Camera is like an elephant compared to the GN's cockroach.

The 16GB is my biggest worry. I love vanilla android on my GN but I am used to changing phones ever 9-12 months and I am at 12 months with my GN now. I love the screen on the DNA when I used it and it would be nice finally having a decent camera in my phone. I would definitely have to make a switch to cloud storage though as I only have 8gb of my 32gb GN free right now.
Honestly, I think the DNA is a great device. Similarly speced to the Nexus 4. It'll be an upgrade over the Nexus in almost every aspect. The only thing you would seriously have to consider is the non-removable battery and smaller internal memory. The battery will be close to what you're getting now with the Nexus maybe slightly better by an hour or so. But on the Nexus you have the option to get an extra battery.
normally you go to an app store and do the install from there.
The store does the download/install for you.
sideloading means getting the apk from somewhere,
putting it on your phone, and installing it yourself.
This is pretty much the only way to put an app on a phone which google play deems 'incompatible' for some stupid reason.

I actually dunno if the DNA is that great. Well i dunno what features it provides since i havent read anything abou it. Does it provide any features for having a ridiculous screen like the Note 2? Also it has what a 2100mAH battery?? That seems way too little....
I think the note 2 would be better, no??

Been going back and forth about this phone since the day it came out.

There is no special features or apps for it other than Sense. Battery life tests have shown that it has the same battery life as a GS3 too. So big differences are how big of a phone do you want, do you need a stylus, and how long do you need your battery to last for?
Well right now I 3 batteries for my GN but I figured I could always get one of those small rechargeable battery packs you can charge the phone off. This was my first Samsung device and while it is great I do miss the great reception I used to get with the radios HTC used. It is also a very minor thing but I wish HTC would start using multicolor LEDs for notifcation.

Try out the phone in person, look up videos on Sense 4+.
HTC phones for the most part use only a Tri-Color LED. Not sure if its the same way for the DNA. Unlike Samsung and LG's LEDs which use the full RGB colors.
Question for the gurus in here:
So, my SOP finally pushed Jellybean down and with the new O/S on the Sammy S3, I'm loving it. Small issue though: the b-days/events are not showing up in the calendar despite me marking that off in the options.
I went into my Google contacts in Gmail and checked and see the b-days all there on the computer but despite refreshing multiple times and then doing a hard reset (power cycle and battery out etc.) on the phone, still can't get the events to show.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Photos I take on my phone, i like to keep them on my phone to show people. But those always stay there, i dont instantly upload them and delete them.
Only files i care about on drive are things i'm reading say for class that i keep synced between my computer and phone so i have access to it easily anywhere. Thats really the only thing I sync up to use for my phone over the air. Main reason for drive is having access to files on another computer (specifically one at school) so i dont need my computer. And to have a back up copy.
So i've come to notice, with the camera taking such quick pictures, i tend to pull the phone out open camera shoot and put it away so quickly that sometimes the pic ends up being blurry. I forget that i still need to hold the camera still....
also the 4.2 camera on my phone, the field of view i see on the screen is smaller than what is actually taken. A ltl annoying at times.

I had it for a bit on the NS, barely used it. I can get it on my SG3 as well, and i have a wallgreens downstairs that I'd be able to use it at. But I carry my wallet everywhere with me, so it just seems simpler to pull out my wallet and swipe the card.

I'd MUCH rather swap a battery (which can be done in say, 20 seconds) and be good for another day, than having to daisy my phone and have this unwieldy thing charging for x hours.

Update for 12/6/12: Due to unforeseen technical issues, the Android release of Vice City will be slightly delayed. Our goal is to get this out for Android by the end of next week. Our apologies for the delay to all our fans on Android devices and please stay tuned for updates.
I use it. Mainly at 7/11, Jack in the Box, McDonald's and gas stations. Not that many stores around here use it though. When I was in Michigan, the Meijer Grocery stores used it and I used it there. As long as it has the PayPass logo and the stores set it up properly which is sometimes an issue because the cashiers have no clue about it. Always had someone asking me more about how it worked. The only hassle is remembering to reset it when flashing to a new ROM to avoid breaking the secure element.
^^Thanks.
I am having the worst time trying to find the right calendar widgets for my phone haha. Now that I have access to Google's own calendar app, I can't find any app that matches it perfectly in terms of aesthetic.

yes and no, i still prefer my music on my phone. I dont like to stream it over the air. Then again I dont have more than 2gb of music I listen too so its not a big deal for me.

My biggest concern is pictures really. If I would get in a habit of dumping them off every month I think I would be fine. However, I have a tone on their with using my Eye-Fi card in my point and shoot and having every picture copied to my phone that I shoot. It does make for not having to worry about the quality of the camera in my phone though. Maybe a new phone would fix that though.
I haven't ever taken the time out to see if it is some app I am using or what but I am lucky to get about 8hrs out of the GN right now between charges and that would not be ok if I couldn't pull the battery. If I know I am going to be out all day doing various things it is not uncommon for me to go through 3 batteries in a day.

So I finally made it to the Verizon store this weekend to play with both the DNA and the Note II now that they are both out. I had hoped they would be side by side but they were not. The Note II is nice for sure but it definitely still feels just as awkward holding up to your head to make a call as it did with the dummy model did when I was at BestBuy. The S pen still seems like a gimmick that I do not see myself using at all for anything.
The two things I do like about it would be the ability to have another battery and also the SD card slot. Especially now that I have decided I am going to pick up a Asus Infinity after the holiday. Would be nice to move the SD card between devices to transfer files.
So I am still basically back to the point of having no idea

Titanium Media Sync will do it as well but FolderSync has a better UI:

I have been wondering that very same thing. People always suggest them but haven't really heard any real stories of using them. I have had extra batteries for my last 5 phones including my current one.

What kinda accessories do you guys recommend as far as flip covers/screen protector/extra battery/etc are concerned?
