holy crap... Uggla is making Crede's season look gold glove caliber.

4 er's (or maybe it was only 3 since he did throw 1 guy out on a badly bobbled ball).

this game is never gonna end!

I can't believe how long this game was. It started while I was at the gym about to do my 30 mins treadmill run. I saw it go through like 2 innings so I figured it would be a quick one. I went home, took a shower, dump, watched the ending for MGS4 again, messed around in the simulator mode, watched the tutorials for all the moves, played Act 1 up to the part where you go into the rebels' hideout (took a while since I played in Extreme Boss Mode), fed my daughter a bottle, put her down, went to lay down for bed, put on Sportscenter for highlights and saw the Bottom Line stating it was 3-3. I was like no way. Put on Fox and there's Morneau at bat. Fell asleep once he got to 3rd.

Yeah it was a great all star game. MLB needs to start the game at 7pm, not almost 9pm. Then more people would be able to watch the entire game.

Mauer gets a hit and a walk, Nathan pitches a perfect inning, Morneau gets 2 hits, a walk, scores 2 runs, including the game winner that locks up Game 1 of the WS in the Metrodome.

you gotta figure in west coast people, no? a 9ish start is 6ish there. if they started at 7pm eastern than that's 4pm on the west coast. definitely limiting viewers. 9pm eastern is kind of the most reasonable time slot to maximize viewers.

yeah well 9est means its over after midnight which means people are asleep on the east coast. either way you lose viewers!

eh midnight, i mean this particular game went pretty long... but normally it would end around midnight which i don't think is terrible. it's either that or start the all-star game at 4pm west coast?

edit: from now on it should be done at 3pm on a Saturday! how's that?

i love the all star game but i think it should go back to just an exhibition game, not this home field advantage stuff.

Before last night, I would have agreed with you. But last night it seemed that everyone wanted to win so bad. There has been so much of an equlibrium of power in the leagues this season, it's in almost every players best interest to play their best to try to win homefield advantage. It makes the game much more exciting when the players are playing hard.

Past AS games seemed dull because the players seems lackadaisical

I misunderstood you. I thought you meant equal power between the two leagues. Yeah, definitely more teams with a chance for postseason in the NL. The Rockies are 18 games under and only 8 games out of first.

I like the homefield thing, but something has to be done about running out of players.

Here's Rosenthal's idea:

I felt bad for Uggla...that had to be the worst feeling in the world. Just goes to show how hard playing the infield is...

That's BS, all these idiot voters only look at a guys record, all of his other numbers are matching or exceeding his career averages. His record, the least important stat for a pitcher IMO, is the only stat that is not as good.

Tough to be pissed at that though, you got beat buy David Wright, a premier slugger in the game. Sometimes you just have to accept that.

Yeh. The thing that the METS are doing that I haven't seen them do in years is finding a way to pick up team mates. The give Santana a 2 run lead, he blows it, and immediately they get 2 more runs back. And the got him off the hook. Someone commits an error, next play they get a double play. Someone strikes out with the bases loaded and nobody out, next hitter hits a double. I'm not sure how long this streak will continue, but if they can keep finding ways to work as a team, then I am a happy fan.
