Not for me. I don't blame Wille for what the METS went through at the end of last year and this season. I still think he is the best person for the job, but for some reason he wasn't the right person for right now. They needed a switch, of for no other reason, than a switch. Personally I feel the METS did a horrible job in how they got rid of him. It's shameful.

But, I'm a METS fan and I support the 9 guys on the field and not the crap that always happens behind the scene.

I don't come in here very often, but I don't see too many Massholes posting this weekend, either.

I just hope the Angels aren't reverting back to their former (pre-Scioscia) habit of falling apart at the end of the season - or their recent (Scioscia) days of getting taken out in early post season round by the BoSox.

So, who's going to pick up K-Rod at the end of the season and for how much?

Yeah, that was pathetic. I mean, at least have some class and give the guy what he deserves when you're making a coaching change.

And sometimes I guess a change like that is all a team needs to get hot...you guys have looked good lately.

I would be weary of signing him to anything long term. It seems like everytime he pitches his elbow is going to explode.

Those guys just don't last as long as other types of pitchers...but there are exceptions.

+1, but just like everyone other hot free agent, he's going to demand a long term deal. Anything more than 2-3 years is a HUGE risk.

Also, if you don't have a decent pitching and hitting staff for him to support, then it's a waste.

You would think the last three home games against the Royals and Rangers would be wins too.

Unfortunately, with 3 wins since 2002 in Yankee Stadium, the Twins are proving they shouldn't be winning there now.

*checks watch* Ah yes...about time for our weekly jousting on here.

Ahem.

Zipit, Squirrel-lips...last time I checked, the ChiSox were still looking DOWN on your Twips.

Willie definitely got shafted from a coaching / managing stand point. But he will land on his feet. And every organization agrees that he has the class they like and the coaching ability that is required. In a way, the way the METS brass dealt with it makes him look more desirable to other teams.

Plus, now he has a vacation for the rest of the year and he collects a couple million bucks. I'll take that deal.

I think the players stepped it up. Whether or not it was the change, that's why the METS are hot.

Rauch went to Arizona. I hope he's not closing because I have Lyon on my fantasy team. Lyon has 5 blown saves.

Just like they did against the ChiSox in the last series they had too.

So, when do our teams play again...?

Or they got beat by a good team who has had some great pitching as of late.

Can't argue with that.

Monday through Thursday in a little ol place called the Metrodome.

I don't know when the Twins play the Cubs next.

Rodriguez helps. Watching him this series, he's probably twice as good as the next best player in MLB.

A-Wad...? Eh. He's good but I can't stand him...However, I do need to say thank-you to him for helping slap around your Twips all series.

Oooo...ChiSox against Tigers soon.

This should be a telling series if Detroit is ever going to have a chance at anything or amount to being the greatest MLB-bust...evar.

Only guy performing on my team. How does Figgins go 0-6 while his team scores 14 runs. God he sucks this year.

No...seriously. Knowing the history of the guy we're dealing with, Kerry Wood figures to become the first player whose blister requires season-ending Tommy John surgery.

IlliNorge: Question for you about Liriano...why are your Twips taking their merry time in calling him up? He's really go nothing to prove down in AAA...?

And in the meantime, Hernandez is not exactly lights out.

I read his agent is getting pissed. Accusing them of limiting his starts so he doesn't meet a standard on his contract, therefore them not having to pay him...? Can't remember the whole story.

They definitely will not tinker with the four young guys in the rotation. Which leaves Hernandez, who has 10 wins and is the mentor for the rest of the rotation. And for some crazy reason the team scores 6 runs a game for him.

His agent is a schmuck. He filed a grievance with the MLBPA alleging the Twins haven't called him up to save money and delay arbitration rights on him. It pissed off Gardenhire.

Oof...and no spot in the bullpen even? I'd say Liriano could do well as a setup for Nathan then? Or maybe someone right now in the rotation?

Personally, it's fine by me that the Twips are keeping such a valuable asset off the team but I'm just absolutely puzzled by their logic with keeping him in Triple A...

They can't put him in the bullpen because they won't be able to stretch him out for 100 pitches if someone goes down. I'm wondering if one of their pitchers is about to get dealt for a slugger, a guy like Carlos Lee...

Lotsa thanks to roll out tonight.

First and foremost: Thank-you, Jermaine Dye.

Thank-you also, Todd Jones for serving up that gift...

And last but not least...thank-you to the overrated Indians for finally giving all the early preseason experts who picked them to be a possible division winner something to crow about.

It's incredibly frustrating seeing the Cubs pitching so well and the offense doing jack crap to support them. I can't see the Cubs putting up anything else today.

It'll be fine...they are in a bit of a rut right now. I think with Lou doing that tantrum again today, the Cubbies will be back winning in no time.
