Cubs got very unlucky today. For the most part the offense has been HITTING, but very untimely, unlucky a couple of times, and downright horrible with the double-plays.

Yeah, I hate that new rule where the team in first at the halfway point gets a playoff berth.

Pffft...thank goodness for the Central. If it weren't for inter-divisional play, the ChiSox would for sure be in last place. Thank goodness for Twips, Tigers, and Indians...

You mean intra-divisional play.

The AL should just send their best inter-league team to the World Series and be done with it.

Anyhow, trading barbs aside...WTF is with KC beating up on the NL?

KC has some good pitching and they play NL style, better than the NL. The whole AL beat up on the NL. 149-102. Look at the Dodgers. They got 3 hits in their last two games at home.

Insanity how an AL floormat can take the NL teams and beat them up and down the baseball diamond...

This is worse than the disparity between AFC and NFC in the NFL...

Same applies to Seattle sweeping in SD. Maybe they should give the NL a DH, but make the AL pitchers bat in interleague?

I vote for more interleague games this year. The METS did well against the AL.

interleague games are fun to watch, but i think 15-18 games is enough

i still can't get over the AL dominance...only 3/16 NL teams had winning records in interleague play (NY, ATL, CIN)

is the AL really that much better?...i hope the NL at least gets home field

not true IMO...i'll tell you why Manny's not getting into trouble:

Manny Ramirez = Hall of Famer
Shawn Chacon = Scrub pitcher

Manny could have beaten McCormick with a bat and the Sox wouldn't have suspended him

Bud would have to reprint all the ballots. Fan voting is BS anyway.

the "at least one player from every team" rule is BS too...what is this, little league??? If your team's players suck, they should not go to the ASG.

I think at least one player from each team should go. There's always some guy who would be tearing it up if he didn't have to bat in the middle of a bad lineup, or a pitcher with a 2.50 ERA but a 1-8 record and bad defense behind him. I'd rather see that than Jorge Posada or Varitek every year.

I kind of like the No All Star Left Behind rule. You get to see some talent from another team. Of course there's some teams that are hard to send one guy. Who would you send on these teams? However, I don't like the fact that it determines home field advantage for the WS. Isn't that why we have a regular season?

Washington - Jon Rauch for his saves?
San Francisco - Lincecum
KC - Soria
Baltimore - Sherril?
Oakland - Harden

The Nationals have a lefty pitcher named Lannan who is very good. But no run support and bad defense behind him.

I forgot about Jose Guillen. I drafted him by mistake instead of Ken Griffey since he was going to be suspended 15 games. I kept him when he hit like .180 in April. Dropped him when he proceeded to go nuts. Picked him up again and got the tail end of his madness. He is now proceeding back to sub .250.
