Braves game yesterday was fun

It wasn't the best weather with sprinkles all game, but at least it didn't pour! The grand slam by Johnson was awesome!

After 12 games, the Tigers have already been shutout one more time than they were all last year.

Well, he finally changed the lineup around like he should have when it was obvious who was and wasn't slumping, and we start scoring a few more runs....genius.

I'm pretty sure it was a phone call from the G.M. that finally made him do it though, not that he wanted to

And what's wrong with Marty?

After an Adam Dunn homerun on 4/16, some bleacher bums in Chicago threw a bunch of balls back onto the field and Brennaman went off:
"This is the kind of thing, quite honestly, right now, that makes you want to see this Chicago Cubs team lose. Far and away the most obnoxious fans in baseball in this league are those who follow this team right here. Throwing 15 or 18 balls onto the field, there's absolutely no excuse for that, and that is so typical of Chicago Cub fans. It's unbelievable. You simply root against them. I've said all winter, they talk about this team winning the division ... they won't win it because they still are the Chicago Cubs. And they will figure out a way to screw this whole thing up."

I've listened to Marty on the Extra Innings package and can't believe some of his commentary. I think he's an absolutely brutal announcer...highly over-rated and terribly critical of the opposing team. IMO, PBP should be somewhat objective.

Yup, and well deserving. Too bad he isn't a 3B so he could be replacing that pathetic excuse for one Edwin Encarnacion. I've never seen defense so bad in my life :shakehead

I agree he can be overly critical, but he's equally critical of the Reds as well. I think Dunn gets it the worst from him... but you have to appreciate a little honesty because he says what a lot of people are thinking.

And I hadn't heard that quote from the Cubs game, but yeah he tends to go a little overboard on his rants every once in a while. I've been listening to him my whole life, so I guess I'm just used to it.

You know things are going good for the ChiSox when Mariotti of the Sun Times has nothing bad to say in his column about them.

Doh, I picked up Crede not Thome. Thome seems to be feast or famine if he's around .222.

I agree, it's AL or bust for him. Unfortunately he probably won't win a WS with the team he signs.

my friend told me that it's the Cubs year for sure, he said that they're a team of destiny and 100 yrs of losing is enough. i mean should i believe him? he said they're in first place, while the White Sox aren't as good he said this year as the Cubs are.

the lovable losers just won their 10,000 game tonight. i should look or does anyone know the overall record of the Cubs? they've had to have lost more games than they have won in their history.
