Ugh The Rays beat the shit out of us and took our lunch money. Our starting pitching needs Josh Johnson back soon. Hopefully Anibal Sanchez resumes his rookie form and comes back as well for a late push. Our bullpen is really struggling too.

Well all this talk about the "real Cubs" from White Sox fans who realize the real White Sox and real AL Central is starting to take shape. It was fun while it lasted guys.

to the White Sox fans' comments above:

That NEVER gets old. SO true.

Ah, I see, so "Cunteticut" doesn't have a real sports team of any sort so you have to watch others fail for joy, huh? You're like the dude who watches Blind Date and hopes the guy gets rejected because you yourself could never pull it off. So to sum up what I'm feeling right now, why don't you go support whatever Minor League team your crap town has to offer and quit being a "Cunteticut"

(here comes the "Red Sox Fan" excuse)

Not for another month...a 4 gamer at the dome where your squad has had TERRIBLE luck. In fact, you don't get us at home again the rest of the year...good luck with all that.

Oh. I see how it is. Squirrel-lips needs a tag-team partner, huh?

Well, laugh all you want, mofos...all I gotta say is that the ChiSox are still in 1st and we slapped your Twips up and down the baseball diamond last time they met.

So, there.

how did Cubs fans get so damn cocky? What the hell has your team done in the last 100 years except disappoint millions upon millions of fans, year after year.

quit talkin shit, you guys could easily blow your season just as fast as the Sox can. Don't forget there is another full 1/2 of baseball left. We'll see what happens come October but if history proves to repeat itself, we'll see you guys head down, wiping away the tears of sorrow at the Cubby Bear talking about how next year HAS to be the year for you.

1. Best record in Baseball for the first time since 1908
2. A record-breaking home record (despite getting killed today)
3. sweeping the team "Cub-trash-talking" Ozzie Guillen, Kenny Williams, John Dankes, and AJ Pierogie play for, after their wonderful words about the Cubs organization, their fans, and the stadium where they got wiped to the floor with.

And please, when the White Sox were having their good years, you guys took it like you were a fricken dynasty. It was a World Series year, yeah it was more than the Cubs have had, but it was one year. You think we're bad this year, just imagine how stupid you guys looked.

You better hope to take 2-3 at home against the Cubs. That should be good enough consolation for getting absolutely EMBARRASSED at Wrigley.

I'm not a White Sox hater, I'm a Cubs fan (which naturally makes me a Cardinals hater). I actually appreciate the Sox. I mean, if my side of town didn't have a team, I'd be a huge Sox fan. What pissed me off was all of the Sox fans talking about how they play in the AL "this", the Cubs home record is inflated because of "that", their GM and MANAGER trash-talk the organization, and then they get spanked.

That's why I gloated the sweep. They got what they deserved. Now, this time around I feel the White Sox SHOULD take 2-3 at least. I'll be content with a win and two losses.

and, the Cardinals lost again

Well, you'll never get any vile from this end since I'm one of THOSE that really likes both teams.

But, yes...my hates in baseball are: Twips and Cards. Not enough venom and spew can be thrown their way IMO. And yeah, IlliNorge, bite me.

hahahaha

cubs logic always amazes me.
we win the world series, you say "who cares it was 1 time"
so why do we even play if it doesn't matter, 1 year or 10... its still a world championship... and 1 more than you guys have had in the last century if you've forgotten.

I never said we were a dynasty... i don't know anyone who did, and trust me we've had 2 disappointing years in a row following the 05 win but we had an amazing team that year an amazing team that was made up of mostly no namers who played their hearts out.... of course we were happy.

We have a pretty good squad this year. I won't deny you guys took it to us last weekend, I was there on Friday and it was pretty damn embarrassing standing there in my Fisk throwback jersey after Arm Ram jacked that homer in the 9th.

And for the last time Cubs fans... get off the AJ hater train.
I don't care if you dislike him for his play because he is an intense guy, but drop the whole "He hit Michael Barrett in 06" bullshit.

Try watching a replay. He went through Barrett to get to the plate, yep... its baseball... plays like that happen everyday. Then you all say AJ intentionally bumped into him on his way back to the dugout... well watch again as MB GETS IN AJ'S WAY and AJ leans to avoid walking into him. Yeah he smacked the plate with his hand... he was excited he scored. Jaba and 4000 pitchers in the league pump fists, scream, call for props all the time... why aren't we punching them in the face?

Just get over it.... besides MB doesn't even play for you anymore.

I just think its hilarious how in Oct of 05 i saw hundreds of so called "Chicago fans" aka Cubs fans who began to root for the Sox because they long for a world series appearance so badly. Now 2 1/2 years later you are all back to talking shit like the Sox are the scum of the earth.

Which is why you see so many Sox fans getting into it with the Cubs fans. Fuck the Cubs and their fans.... All I have to say is that you'll never see a Sox fan rooting for the Cubs, World Series or not. I think we'd all rather see the Yanks win another one than the Cubs... and thats ONLY because you guys acted like fair-weather jackasses when we did well.

It's hard not to hate the White Sox when you listen to Hawk Harrelson. He's probably the #1 reason I would rather see any other team win the AL.

the only thing that pisses me off about Harrelson was he was the one who fired LaRussa many yrs ago when Harrelson was GM of the White Sox.

a broadcaster isn't enough to make me like/hate a team.

I will say though... even though I hate the Cubs I don't think there is a soul in the world who would have something bad to say about Harry Caray.

It's late I had a long day at work and I'm tired, but to some up my ideas:

- Sox logic baffles me as well.
- I did not say a WS is not an amazing feat: I just said you were being rather hypocritical seeing that many Sox fans bashed on the Cubs instead of celebrating (recall the reports of people on pick-up trucks waving Sox flags outside Wrigley Field?)
-I see more Sox fans hating Cub fans than vice-versa (Bartman jerseys, seriously who pays for an AUTHENTIC Bartman Sox jersey?)
- I'm not won of those fair-weather guys, so don't come crying to me about John Smith who decided to do that.

-For the sake of GOD, stop watching what we do and mind your own business. You see me on this board, and I NEVER bring anything up about the Sox until it came time for the city games. Meanwhile, we've got 2 Sox fans who can't help but bash on the Cubs, one with an avatar dedicated and a user title asking us if the CUBS are for real or not, not his own team. Yeah it's a small sample size; 2 people, but isn't it funny how they both fit the stereotype?

Quit the insecurity. That goes for you as a fan, and Kenny Williams as a GM. Absolutely ridiculous how crappy the Cubs are treated. And by the way, don't act like you weren't cheering against the Cubs in 2003. The 2005 "bandwagon fan" thing is such a bullshit excuse.

PS: as much as I hate the Cardinals, Tony LaRussa showed some class after a SIMILAR incident that reminded me of the whole Kenny Williams incident:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=g64Ae58SvEk

Today-Sunday we should be trash-talking, but quit paying attention to the Cubs. If you guys cared half as much for your own team as you did ours, you'd be 3rd in MLB attendance.

My goodness you people are so frustrating.

A dimwit like Harrelson is enough to tip the scales if you're sitting on the fence.

I've got a couple bad things to say about Harry Caray. He was a mean drunk who fooled around with Augie Busch's wife and was booted out of St. Louis as a result. He was also a bad announcer at the end, saved only by Steve Stone. Now Ed Farmer has slid into that role with White Sox radio (getting saved by Steve Stone).

Ron Santo is also a horrible announcer, saved by Pat Hughes.

Come on, Chicago, get with it. Some people are trying to understand what's going on down on the field.

2003 I personally didn't even watch cuz I didn't care... which is what most Sox fans did I'm sure.

See you guys always forget that the reason we are so defensive about it all is because you have been Chicago's team for like 100 years, despite ever winning. We've almost always been known as "the other team" and to be honest, thats fucking annoying. Both teams have sucked for MANY years, yet the Cubs have ALWAYS gotten the bulk of media attention and support. Thats why most Sox fans are bitter when it comes to the Cubs. We finally won one... you didn't and yet, like it was pointed out earlier in the thread, you fill the stands every game and we fight to even get the vendors to come to work in May because its so frickin cold.

I'm damn proud to be a Sox fan, I grew up in Glenview (on the oh-so-luxurious North Shore) where EVERYONE is a Cubs fan and most people cringe at the thought of driving anywhere remotely close to the Cell. I chose to be a Sox fan and went against the grain of the stereotypical kids in my town who were all plain vanilla Cubs fans. My grandpa liked the Sox, so I picked them and was RIDICULED for it for 12 years in school. Hell I'm ridiculed for it today, but it makes me like them even more... and I don't hate on Cubs fans personally... as you can guess ALL of my friends are Cubs fans, but don't say we ALWAYS start the shit talking cuz it goes much deeper than that. It's usually us having to try and defend ourselves from you guys who always think we are so pathetic...

WIN ONE ALREADY... THATS WHATS PATHETIC!
