^ I can't wait for a giant APPLE sign to be on the jerseys of the Blackhawks.
Can't wait.

fight strap: makes sense
jersey not being tucked in....nonsense.
Sure you can argue that a tucked in jersey "may" make it difficult for the refs to read the number on the back of the jersey, but that's a stretch.
It's a dumb rule.

It's also a 2 minute penalty to remove your own helmet before a fight (your own helmet). Sooo, here's how that rule is made a complete joke.

Kill the instigator rule, and all will be right as rain.

Poo reports that Bryzgalov is rumored to be signing with the Penguins!

So, where's dom and his thoughts on the street-fight between the Sabres and Leaves? Kessel did his best impression of baseball swinging and well, yeah...lots of shenanigans in that game.

I know your not supposed to condone swinging a stick like a baseball bat but when it's Kessel about to be prison raped by John Scott, I'm willing to let it go. You can call it intent to injure all you want but John Scott going after an unwilling Kessel is intent to injure as well and probably a lot more dangerous than a hockey stick.

Kessel: You are supposed to "turtle" onto the ice, not swing your stick.

Some heart breaking news for Moog. His favorite player damaged his ACL and will be out somewhere between 6 weeks and 4 months.

Don't worry Moog, I'm sure he'll be back in time for his annual playoff suspension.

Kessel has a telephone hearing with Shanabananaban today. If my memory is correct that means he's potentially looking at a less than 5 game ban.
Any guesses as to what he gets? I'm wondering if he gets a ban at all or just a fine for his stick work. Does the fact that he was about to be concussed by a gorilla on skates get factored in?

Here's my guess
1 game....no wait 26 games....no wait, because previously another player did the same thing and got 3 games...so Kessel will get zero games......bu then you gotta factor in his history, so 8 games.....but this year the NHL is cracking down and enforcing the rules, so 2 games.....but it's the preseason so, 6 games......but then again, Shannanananban

I doubt Kessel's will

I'm thinking a fine and nothing more. Seriously how many players have been banned for slashing someone's legs. Had he gone all Marty McSorely and swung for the head it would be a different story but that's not what happened here.

^agreed, either he'll be fined, or he'll get a slap on the wrist (aka 1 preseason game)

Hmm, not sure what this means exactly in regards to what Kessel will face but apparently Ron Wilson has been fined for putting Scott on the ice in the first place.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=6...d=nhl:topheads
It seems to me that the league feels putting Scott out there was basically asking for a brawl. The odd part would be that since it was a home game for Toronto, they had the last change and chose line Kessel up against Scott.
Buffalo Sabres head coach Ron Rolston has been fined for player selection and team conduct as a result of events that took place at 10:01 of the third period during NHL preseason game No. 61 against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto on Sunday, Sept. 22.
The events took place during the face-off after Buffalo forward Corey Tropp fought Toronto forward Jamie Devane. Buffalo forward John Scott initiated an altercation with Toronto forward Phil Kessel, whom he was lined up against on the face-off, resulting in several fights. In total, 211 penalty minutes, including three game misconducts, were assessed due to the various altercations.

So Kessel ends up with a 3 game suspension which means he is only suspended for the remainder of the preseason.

Ya see kids, never bet on Shanananananban.
He will always prove you wrong.
He will always prove you wrong.
Trolling Canuckistan
Maybe I'm wrong on this but it doesn't seem like he's actually being punished at all. Isn't salary based on an 82 game season? By suspending him for 3 preseason games I'm guessing he doesn't lose any salary over this. Kinda seems like fining him $20 would have been a bigger punishment.
The sizzle in the Steak
^^^ Are you trying to apply logic to Shananananban?!?!?!?
...and all those clownz who thought he would be the savior for the league.....brace yourself, here comes another year of down is up and up is down....left is right and right is left, Shannanananban decisions.
...but sometimes he is a broken clock and gets it right........sometimes.
