Anyone else have the flu like symptoms after getting this years flu shot? It's like having a hangover for two days.

^^ and the reason why I will NEVER get a flu shot. It's a live virus injection, if your immune system is already compromised by another virus (even unknown to you) then chances are you're going to have a brush with the flu.

On top of that issue they attempt to "predict" which strain of the flu will be the most active, sometimes they get it wrong and if they do you're flu shot is worthless. Not to mention the fact our vaccines are made in dirty laboratories for the highest bidder...

Fuck vaccines in the US there are not enough controls on them anymore to make half of them worth while...

Yes, technically I was still recovering from a weird cold. After 20 years of flu shots I can honestly say that I've only had the flu once. But the one time I did get sick I got really, really, sick. So much so that it messed with my vision and I was out of life/work for two weeks. That year I most likely did not get the shot. Additionally, I work at a public university and I’m exposed to all kinds of germs every day. I believe that once you start taking the shots, you must continue to get the shot in order to continue prepping the immune system as you have done before. It certainly makes a lot of money for the pharmaceutical companies who make the shots every year. Whether it is the H1N1 or the H3N2, which was more likely the culprit here in Oregon last year, if you are a regular recipient like me it is better to be safe than sorry.

I never go for the flu shot cause it always makes you sick the first time... on that note my allergies have been bugging me... anyone ready for the chance of snow tonight and tomorrow?

Got a CEL last night as I left to go to my dialysis appt. Never went off. Car drove fine to there and back.

I didn't feel like driving out to AutoZone to get the code checked, so I reset the ECU today by pulling the clock fuse and started the car up. No CEL. Hopefully it was just a fluke - maybe the oxygen sensor had a problem with the cold, I dunno. Just hope it doesn't happen again - too much going on to worry about CELs.

If the gas cap isn't put on properly that can throw a CEL as well, doesn't hurt to check.

Good point. I've read that before. Ran out to the garage popped the gas filler door open, unscrewed the cap and rescrewed it back on. We'll see. Thanks!

perhaps in the cold you were running a lil rich so it through a CEL from the o2 sensor? Good to hear it went away.

What happened to the snow? It was snowing like crazy for about 20 minutes yesterday afternoon at our house then quit. Didn't freeze last night, had to come into work!!!! lol

I guess the next chance is this afternoon/evening and then we're out of the woods for the week.

tomorrow suppose to be a high of 29 so any wet stuff on the pavement will turn to ice.. so usually what happens it will a layer of ice under the snow.. which could mean a possible no work day tomorrow =)

Yeah, the CEL is gone, hopefully for good. Didn't come back on my drive to work this morning.

People are telling me that it's supposed to snow around 1pm. If so, I'm heading out at the sign of the first snowflake. Last year was a hairy drive back into Hillsboro, especially once I got off Hwy 26...

i think people need to take a lesson on what happened.. i was soooooooo pissed my work didnt let me out early.. then was stuck in traffic for nearly 3 hours when i live less then 20 minutes away.. i was not a happy camper..

the thing this this storm is if it does start to snow its expected to get colder not warmer so its gonna freeze and turn to ice over night. so i am with you.. if i see it sticking I am out like a fuck'n trout.. and they can fish on..

Turns out you are both correct. Just came from Dr. B's office and he told me that the Flu SHOT is dead, but the NASAL MIST is a live weakend form of the flu.

Very disappointing drive this morning I wanted the day off too. As I started my way down the hill I noticed that the kids were all building a snowman out of what little was left over from Monday. It was jealous and immature of me, but I mowed it down with the RDX anyhow.

I can't decide if I should buy the snow tires for the RDX or not. I get the feeling this will be just a taste of the wicked winter we have coming. On the other hand, this is the kind of trick Mother Nature would pull on me. If I buy them now we will have just one snow day all season. If I don't we will get three weeks of 6" deep white powder.

Blew $2,000 on tires today. $50 off each set of four at America's/Discount tire for black friday. They also had a $70 rebate on the Michelin's for the TL. But as I sit here on this torn-up old couch in the family room I've got a touch of buyers remorse. We are covered with great rubber for the next 3+ years on both cars, but I spend a lot of time on this couch.
