TSNext
It's a damn shame, they look so bad-ass when dropped and tinted...

I was tempted by the price, but we're too fat to fit in that Tiny TSX occupant compartment. Big American's!!

Ya, I wonder who the TSX market is geared towards. You can't really believe that the competition is Lexus is-250??? At 40k I would rather have a 2011 Infiniti G.
EDiT: ***If the HSV-010 ever becomes a production NSX replacement, I'll pony up part of my inheritance as a deposit!!! We'll see about that...I just dumped $1,500 into a new stove, so I have put little stuff like my RDX coil-overs on hold.
Any thoughts on BC Racing products (Florida)? I've never heard of them.

The internet has created a ton of these "little mom&pop" shops on-line. It's hard to tell if they have a 100,000 sq foot warehouse, or a 10,000 sq foot pole barn. I hate to give my money to some dude who will make them to order.
I had a bad experience with a small shop and my SHO. I had them start some work, but they never finished because the lifts got repossessed in the middle of my engine tear-down. I had to have the car towed to the dealer.

...and the name of the shop is?
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with a small shop, problems can arise when there is a complication and the shop is in another state, like Florida in this case. It makes getting your money back impossible because you can't go bang your fist on the counter, or go by the owners house to serve them the paperwork for your small claims lawsuit.

Holy late-shift Batman, the new guy just showed up for work...He was going to shadow me from 7am-9am.
Wow, pretty much missed the entire shift.
Bye, bye, new guy.
EDiT: In today's job market you'd think that these guys would try to show up and work and stuff.

You're in IT right? Not saying that you are, but most IT peeps are lazy... lol I dunno how many times I've introduced new web technologies that may require a companies IT department to simply create a directory on the public web server and they completely blow it off claiming it to be "too difficult with their workload" when it takes all of maybe 2 minutes. Even when I was corporate I had to deal with the IT department there and every damn time I would get "well fine, you can do it, we wont touch it or support it" lazy! Like they are their own company not even paid by or attached to the company they work for....
Well ok not all IT mainly the net ops teams... bleh lol So no surprise he was late!

Yep, there is rampant laziness going on here. One of my co-workers said he bought the GameBoy Advance just to keep himself entertained. Thousands of wasted Gov dollars. We could eliminate his position and never even notice he was gone (but I like him, so...I'm just as guilty).

I really like the 3G. In a way I wish that cars were easier to buy/sell/trade. There are so many cars I would love to own, if even for only a couple of months:
BMW 335
3G TL type S
Honda S-2000
Ford Mustang GT500
Mitsubishi EVO MR Touring
Nissan 370z Nismo Edition
Ferrari 330 GTC or 365 2+2
And many that I will never be able to afford.
EDiT: Shit now I'm sucked into CL again; here is a nice "wish I owned it."

Ya, I've seen some press on this lately and had no idea what people were talking about. This ^ (Elenor) is that "Gone in 60" car? I never saw that movie because I hate that guy... (not even going to write his name) ...sooo much. He ranks #3 in my actors I hate, right up there with Keanu Reeves!

just saw this thread while searching for portland carwashes. bought a used 08 TL with ~35k miles. holla!
what kind of care do y'all do for your car in this sort of weather? i live in an apartment building in downtown Portland, so i really have no access to a driveway where i can wash/wax my car. anybody use any carwashing service for something like that?

I usually wax my car with the seasons if I get time. When it starts to suck for paint is when they put down deicer. Then I try to stay on top of washing it... keyword is try. It gets cold! lol

I've been to this ^ one before, looks like I'll be going back. To bad I bought that promo-pac from the crooks on Murray, I have 6-7 free washes still at Kadidily.

Funny that this has come up. I looked at the side of the RDX in horror yesterday when I saw the scratches on the side of the car from "kaddy car wash" where I've been getting it washed.

I think it is especially bad this time of year with all the small road debris and dirt that get stuck in the fibers of that brush from the peeps that only wash their car every 3 months. They need to clean that first brush every 12 hours or it's like running your car through 250 grit sandpaper.
#5911
Yes, it looks like I took it through a brushy trail on a camping trip. I might even tackle it this weekend. I was just shocked at how bad it was. Proof that brushless is better -OR- I need to get off my lazy ass and wash it with a mit like I was 22yrs old again. Might be good excercise...
#5912
^ ya nothing beats hand washing.. i replace my wash mit every year or 6 months.. depending on condition.. dollar store carries microfiber wash sponges and i use those.. work great! just gotta remember to start from the top of the car and work your way down and dont do circle motion circles will create the swirl marks you see on most vehicles.
#5913
Microfiber is your clear coats worse enemy. Microfiber grabs onto particles and doesn't easily release them and often times those particles are small and unnoticeable when surrounded in suds. I find it better to just use a good ol' fashion terry mit.
#5914
^ hmm interesting.. i would like to get those wash buckets that trap the dirt and stuff at the bottom while the fresh stuff is on top.. cant find them anymore.. but anyway never had and issue with my wash sponges one side is a scrubber side the other is the affro looking side.. mainly use the scrubber sid in the winter to get more of the dirt off and in the summer i use the other side.. wonder if there is a study as to which is better im sure its been beaten down a few times

If I do any kind of polishing I seal then wax. The sealant lasts longer. Really polishing is what makes the car shine. Wax and sealant are protectants for the clear coat but don't always lead to lasting shine. Wax and sealant with eventually be removed from everyday driving, but getting your blemishes out permanently with a good polishing makes your car shine like new.
Just don't polish a lot, every time you do you removing clear coat. Do it by hand you remove very little, use a random orbital buffer and you'll loose a lil more, use a rotary buffer and you loose quite a bit, so reserve it for when you really need it.
I end up hitting my car with a rotary in strategic spots (trunk, hood, lower doors, front bumper) with a light cut once a year. That removes literally all of the swirls of the year. I've only used a medium cut once on the TSX in the 5 years of it's life. It was to remove a fairly deep clear coat scratch.
Hope that helps your dilemma.
