I think Acura started selling wagons in 2011, and the salesperson told me they had really high demand of wagon last year. But with the tsunami, supply of the wagon shorted out. And it seems that they ordered too many wagons now and sitting with 6 or so in the lot.
If the price is right, we have to choose the color after that. Leaning on White with Taupe interior as a first choice. Second is Black on Black. I don't know why Acura don't do White on Black..

Sooooo I had to take my car to RTA for some issues (turned out to be minor) and they gave me a loaner -- an ILX. Pretty nice car, but it wasn't without its issues. It is a loaner and all, but I still thought it was odd that the shift from 1st to 2nd is so rough. Also once again since I'm tall, the view out the front windshield is kinda low for me.
So yeah not bad, just kinda so-so. I think I'll definitely hang on to my CL

I never understood the idea of buying a new car to save money on gas. I mean, if I sell my CL, go buy a TSX or ILX, cut my monthly gas expense in half, it'll still take about 20 years or so for the fuel economy to pay for the car.
But of course that's if you decide to buy a new car. But even with a CPO you'd have the same issue, just lower numbers.
Another thing is the ILX does have those nanny characteristics. Like going from Park -> Drive, then the car locks itself up. Iunno, even if it's a precaution, I still want to feel like I'm 100% in control of the car.
Which brings up another thing. Is push button ignition supposed to just be a novelty kind of thing, or is it actually supposed to be a theft deterrent on some level?

I wouldn't mind picking up the wagon for the versatility but we already have the sport wagon. We are actually thinking next year we might pick up a Pilot again. The Jetta is more fuel efficient than my car and it'd be nice to have a comfortable weekend warrior and family road trip car with AWD and VTM is awesome. It was a real life saver with our old Pilot in the snow.
Just have to wait to recoup funds from the house close heh

You can change those auto lock settings..I have mine set to lock at 10mph and it unlocks when parked. It is kind of annoying tho to drop someone off and always having to unlock the doors for them cuz they can't do it themselves.
I wish I still had my 2G TL..feel ya on the saving money thing but my tranny finally ate it after almost 200k miles and had to buy the 3G when I saw it. Hate the payment tho..none of that with the 2G

yeah front door is in the middle there above the garage. It's in Arbor Vista. So Cornell just.before Miller, kitty corner to forest heights. We got the last Arbor built house before they sold the rest of the land to Dr Horton blah.
floor plan is a traditional four square

looks good chris!! wheres mine? haha i honestly would want something where the front door is more ground level like a ranch style house or something.. so does it have an open basement by the garage? or is that just all garage space?
#7894
It's all garage space on the ground level with a crawl space in the rear. You also have stairs in the garage on the left, a large storage space, a smaller storage space and under stair storage. What you're not seeing on the front are the stairs to the front door, those are coming soon, waiting on a lumber drop.
Of course the house wont be yellow lol, that's just the standard color for the siding.
Cool thing about 4-squares is you don't have to share any main level footage with a garage, so upstairs we get good sized rooms, formal dining, den, large kitchen/nook, and a butlers pantry.
We wanted a ranch, but sooooo hard to find in NW that doesn't need a lot of work.
Benefit to going presale with Arbor is we had a lot of control over the inside, so we chose cabinets, floors, countertops, wood work, etc... you can't get that level of detail with a spec house

Push button is a trend these days. People see it as a luxury and convenient feature. I like the feel of cranking up with a key, but push button start isn't that bad at all since there's no need to pull out the keys from your pocket. We have keyless entry/start on our FX too and wife loves that feature since she don't have to dig up the car key from her bag and I find its pretty convenient too.

But for you, its a good choice as a growing family and safe during winters with good awd system.
Btw, house is looking real good. We were going to pick up another townhouse similar to yours but smaller footage for a killer short sale deal, but we were few days late to the game. Love the 4 square design with first floor being all garage/storage space that can be turned into another room if needed.

HOA is 30 a month and yeah we could repaint it. But we were able to choose our own palette so we should be pretty happy with it
#7899
HOA covers everyone's front lawn, front lawn sprinklers, and other typical HOA stuff, so road maintenance, street lights, blah blah

I sat on the ILX too and it was just Headroom on the front is more cramped than the 1g TSX and 2.0L engine with 150hp or so on a 30k car? I rather save $8k and buy a civic with leather. But one good thing is it looks really good on the outside
I did a calculation @ $4 per gallon and in 10 years its going to save me $16k in gases and @ $5 per gallon, its more than $20k savings. Plus we have a brand new car with bumper to bumper warranty for the next 4yrs/50k miles. And when my wife buys something with her money, she keeps it forever so I'm pretty sure this car will stay with us more than long enough to pay itself up. Plus my FX35 that we will be trading it in still holds good resale value, so in a long run, its a pretty good deal. Also FX will need new tires soon and that'll be good $1000 to replace all four.

Yeah there are definitely perks to a new car. I was just kind of ranting a bit since my dad is following the trend of buying new cars just for better fuel economy. Especially since from what I hear Oregon (or Portland at least) is considering a new tax on drivers since they're not making so much on gas taxes what with people going all eco now.
#7902
Agreed 100% on the headroom. I'm sure it'd still be too low for someone probably almost a whole foot shorter than I. But yeah the outside of the car is pretty nice. I did get a few head turns when I was driving around. The new Acura grill looks great too. To me, the "beak" on the '09-'10 Acuras was only atrocious from a side view.

And your dad should do the calculation of how much he'll be saving the money by going with the more fuel efficient car. If the mpg difference isn't much and cost of the upgrade is more than the gas savings, its not worth it.

add bikers to that list. causing slow down in traffic and not obeying the traffic laws.
Here's the tax bracket of the fuel taxes we are paying per gallon.
Federal Excise Tax $0.183000
Federal LUST Tax $0.001000
FedOilSpill Recovery $0.001715
OR State Motorfuel Tax $0.300000
OR Petro Tank Fee-fixd $0.000000
OR Washington County MF Tax $0.010000
Wonder what other tax they'll add on to this..
Oregon rather should charge sales tax to non-residents who comes here to shop. At least 3~4% sales tax to non resident shoppers, which is still cheaper than close to 10% sales tax on many other states.

Oregon has been rumored to be talking about taxing you per mile driven at the DEQ station. So they record your mileage there and in two years when you come back for your annual state raping they check the mileage again and asess and additional tax for that!

240sx's guage cluster is so easy to open and turn the odometer. haha

so the comptech carbon covers are OE just carbon made? I got a thing of casting stuff for free from my place so i thought i would take on the project of making a mold from my intake cover piece and do something similar to the comptech one.. but i wanted to make sure they still use the same type of filter as OE and not some special filter

Yay or nay? Mazdaspeed3 18" wheels. They are 18x7 +52 offset.
Comes with the 215/45/18 RE050A tires (not much tread though) and tpms for $275. Can be cheap summer setup with these tires.
on a cl. no one seems to run them on tsx.
