So here's a small work bench update. Since we're trying to get a bigger house in the near post covid future I didn't want anything crazy, so I bought this cheap little work bench off of FB markets, and it will do for now.
The one thing that I'm not crazy about is the tool hanger, it's a very thin and flimsy piece of metal. When I picked the bench up the guy selling it told me that I would have to ziptie the holder to the brackets. Um, no... So onto Amazon I went
I needed a better way to access my tools and not take up entire drawers in the new toolbox
So I started with the Pliers rack, not a bad solution and pretty cheap. I'll be adding more to the pegboard going forward, just waiting on my "non essential" Amazon orders lol
I originally bought it for the drawer, but since it had pegboard mounts I opted to go that route. The only thing annoying is that my more modern Kobalt and Tactix brand rubber handles are too big to really fit so a number of them don't fit, but it holds 90% of my pliers so I am happy with it
Lots of updates over the last year or so lol. We sold the old casa de' Ack and bought something bigger. This update, we removed the old shitty hood and replaced it with a black one to match all the other appliances.
Here's the new hood
I installed it myself
Little man giving me the snoop eyes from his old yard
Lots of work went into the old house before selling, we even patched the concrete on the front stoop and replaced the outdoor carpet with new
Old stuff patched
New carpet all installed
We also repainted the garage doors, here's a side by side before and after, right is new color, left is old color
The biggest project we tackled for the home sale was the power washing and staining of the fence. Here's a pic of the power washing in progress, the freshly power washed vs the old fence up on the hill
Here's a pic of our front fence stained
And here's the inside
Here's the upper fence pressure washed and ready for stain
Here's the stain going up the other side. It should be mentioned that when we tackled this it was literally over a 100 degree heat index ever single day and 100% humidity, ugh
Random pic of the dogs chilling on the couch not knowing what's coming, they're judgings
Also we ripped up the old carpet, here's a before with the dogs not knowing what's coming
When we pulled the carpets back and found this mess, the carpet installers grooved the F out of these floors....

The fence came out great. WTF were the installers doing when they put that down. Also still never understand installing carpet over hardwoods.
Need a tour of the new casa 'de Ack.
They were scraping staples, at one point I even asked them to take it easy on my hardwood, apparently they did not listen.... We ended up having to buy new carpet to cover the hardwood because of the gouges. I put carpet over the hardwood to protect from the dogs, they wore through 2 carpets in the time that I lived there, I thought I was saving the gorgeous hardwoods for sale/next buyer, but we see how that turned out
I don't have too many other pics of the house work, but it was constant for 2 months. I have a few pics from move day, this is one of the only pics I have of the new carpet.
Moving our big ass 180 lb pantry
Funny pic I took, buckle in your loved ones. This is the TV from the mancave, and is going in the bedroom.
Moving all these "empty" cases to the new house
Here's the new bedroom, "Where the magic happens" as they say
And here's our sectional in the new living room, excuse the paint colors, they are hideous
This is actually the 47" from my bedroom, the wife wouldn't let me put my 70" screen on the mantle so we put this one up temporarily. This is a few pics of the living room, we love the built-ins, but they make running wires impossible
Shortly after we closed, the Penguins played and I had to sit on a fold out chair, before furniture was there.
We owned the house for a month before we moved in, so it was nice to be able to bring the kids over and let them explore and get used to the new house
A few random TV pics, waiting for Black Friday to get something better for this room.
And the new house garage, this was during moving, showing how big the ceilings are, so happy to have a tall ceiling in my garage
A lot more updates to come for the garage, this was the day I moved the Ack from the old house. The floor is my biggest qualm in the garage, he painted the floor with some cheap epoxy and it literally peals off on the tires, but that will be fixed in the spring.
Did the original owner of your house used to live in Hollywood FL?
Curious because I've never seen that sort of roof trowel treatment like you have on the ceiling in the garage except for here.
Very cool place, man...definitely feels bigger even from just the pictures.
Colors on the wall make me think you bought it from a Jamaican family
Dogs look like they are thinking "man, where do I pick to piss, there's so much room for activities!"

My first house in NC had the same treatment. I wondered if the original owners before them were also from Florida as well cause it is the only place I had seen it before. I hate textured ceilings. Had I stayed I would have removed them.

It's a "custom" home, so I'm not sure. The couple we bought from were middle eastern, but they didn't build the house originally so I'm not sure where it came from. It's textured in every room of the house, I don't hate it since it's not popcorn ceiling, but it's definitely different. Their choice in paint colors... yeah

Congrats on the new pad!
What color are you thinking...? White and grays are apparently the color these days. But yeah...I'm with you on the orange.
I have literally never tried to paint a room. I am too afraid of how bad it would look and just the thought of doing it seems like a miserable project. That said I do need to repaint the trim on my shed this fall so it stays water sealed so unfortunately I will be stuck doing some painting.
