Our first big house project was to take out the 5 large pine trees behind the house, we are working on getting the back yard fenced and these trees had to go. Here's a couple befores, it was literally a wall of trees, you couldn't even see the back yard.
I had a friend take them out, this was the first tree down
They literally put the entire trees into the chipper
This is what they were feeding it
Here's my buddy climbing one of the pines
No harness or climbing gear, dude is
Another tree going in
And here's a couple of the afters, the trees were on a pretty steep hill, so we are planning to grade this and make it less steep, but wanted to show the area where the trees were
Another small was replacing this small workbench that I bought back in the spring. I bought this as a temp solution to use while we were moving/selling. But it really was too small for my needs. I ended up selling it on FB market
And bought a new larger one, it's cheap in the world of workbenches, but I didn't want to drop a grand given how much we had to put out for the house. Here's all the parts laid out
Assembly was a pain in the ass, but here is the frame assembled about to be flipped over.
And here it is standing in it's new location. The thing above it on the wall was a towel hanger, which has since been removed.
And here it is with all the drawers built and assembled. It has a ton of storage which is what I was going for.
LMAO, Jason wants you to fuck on your back porch.
Even from that vantage point the fence will provide privacy?
Looks great, Chris...jealous of your land.
Not bad for a light duty toolbox. Been thinking about upgrading mine to a tabletop box like that, just don't want to fork out big $$ for one.
What's the brand on yours?

Same, I was looking at 1K plus ones and found this one for 400 with free shipping so I jumped on it. It's pretty damn sturdy for the price.
I'd be happy/content with a fixed install. The only time I've had any need to roll the chest I currently have has been to do some rearranging.
Same here, honestly I hate moving heavy toolboxes lol. I did get one with wheels incase I need to rearrange or for when I get a new epoxy floor in the spring
I've been way behind on updates, but lots of progress being made on the new house, we finally got our roof done in October, we had been waiting since July for the roofer and we finally got the new roof put on.
New shingle looks great, and we're very happy to have this done. This came up as part of our home inspection and the house is 30 years old, so we were due for a roof.
I also put together one of our wedding gifts, we decided not to build it until we got to the new house, it's a bar/prep table and matches the other storage box that we already have. Assembly was pretty straight forward.
And here it is all assembled, it has storage on the bottom and a big stainless steal table top. Can't wait to start using this in the spring.
We also got a matching black cover for it, not pictured
Another project that we knocked out last week was our post light. This thing was faded, rusty and had seen better days. The pole was also leaning pretty severely so I bent it back as straight as I could get it.
Here's the old light fixture removed, I scuffed the entire pole with some fine grit sand paper to get any rust off.
My wife painted the post satin black with Krylon paint, and it looks brand new
Another addition/upgrade that we wanted to make was to add a twilight sensor so that we didn't have to turn the post lamp on and off, this thing is worth it's weight in gold and we love it so far. Here it is all assembled and ready to go on
Here it is all mounted on the post after the paint dried.
And here is the new lamp fixture installed on top of the twilight sensor. I also installed a 100W equivalent LED bulb into the fixture.
And here is the finished product with the lid screwed on.
I went with the frosted glass to match the LED light fixtures that are mounted to the house, these also have twilight sensors and turn on and off automatically. We think that this matches pretty well.
Looks good - congrats on the new house btw (I don't think I've said it already).
Any thoughts on painting the shutters to match the door?
Thanks man
Yeah, we've talked about it. We're looking at options to replace the cedar siding also, so no formal decision as of yet. Probably spring we'll have a better idea
In addition to swapping out every outlet and light switch in the house, I also have been swapping out light fixtures and slowly changing to LED. I replaced the kitchen and hallway recessed lights with LED recessed light fixtures, and I also just got done doing the closets. 3 of the 4 bedrooms have walk in closets with light fixtures. Here's a before of one of them.
They were all old fixtures with halogen bulbs
Removed
Here is one of the new LED fixtures for the closets, I bought a 4 pack
And here is one of them installed in the spare room closet
And here is one in the master walk in closet, they are super bright but I like being able to see in the closets
Much improved.
I've been thinking about replacing the fluorescent fixture in the master closet with one of those LED fixtures. That's all my dad has in their house & they put out great light.

It's so worth it, especially since they're so cheap now
And some more garage updates, I got some steel pegboards to go on the wall in the garage above the work bench. They're pretty beefy and were a bit of a pain to hang, but they look great. Here's a before getting them all unpacked.
And here they are all mounted to the wall.
We also mounted a Stanley work light to the right wall
I also got this wood drill holder on Amazon, I bought it for the old house but decided not to mount it and keep it for the new house. It had to be assembled, but I didn't take any pics as it was just screwing pieces together. I killed my hammer drill while mounting the steel pegboards, so I picked up a new Dewalt, and put it to work for this project.
The wife helped me get the holes marked with blue painters tape and leveled.
And here is the drill holder all mounted.
And a shot next to the pegboard
And testing everything out, my Ryobi charging station fits perfectly on the top
I also had this 48" LED shop light that I never got around to hanging at the last house as I didn't really need extra light. I put some hooks up and ordered some plant hanging chains from Amazon. It was an awkward place since I'm dealing with the ducts, but it worked out great.
Look good. Can never have too much light in a work area.
Should cut that conduit open and put a junction box in the middle of it higher up the wall. You could plug your light and drill charger in up there and keep the cables neater.
