They don't carry any of the ones you used in the laundry at any of my local Lowe's. Trying to find some good sub $50 really bright LED lights for the garage. I have two not and want to expand the circuit when I switch to LED so I have 4.
Costco has some nice ones for $30 each. I have four up in my garage and they work well.
Damn I don't have a costco membership and the nearest one is 40min away. Crazy thinking I live near a big city and the only two Costco's in the area are on the south side for some stupid reason.
Really like those ones Ack posted that have connectors to joing them together. I was going to pick up 6 of them and run them in 2 groups of 3 since I would only need one electric supply for each group but reviews say they have no design in them to be surface mounted from the manufacture. Only hanging chain mount and I don't want to give up ceiling height incase I ever put a lift in.

The Costco ones can be surface mount and connect together with outlets on the side of each housing. I think you can daisy chain up to 3 or something like that. Mine are just in pairs.

I'm taking notes. Already bought her a vacuum cleaner!
Got the back of the basement rearranged and much more organized, here's a pic from what it was after we moved the new fridge in
Here's the new layout, I brew a lot of homebrewed beer, so I needed some way to organize it and get the cases up off the floor. It's nothing fancy, but it works. The top row is bought cases, the middle 2 rows are homebrewed beers and the bottom shelf is empty bottles currently. I had to clear out the whole back half of the room, but it definitely is a better use of space.
Even my supervisor approves, so much more room for activities!
Still have to put the bar together, it's going to go against the wall where the outlet is.
Got the bronze LED light fixture installed in the kitchen yesterday. It was a way bigger pain in the ass than I had hoped for. It is designed to mount in the center on a junction box, however my junction box is all the way to the back of the mounting location and there was no way we could mount it that way, it would have been up against the back wall and probably wouldn't have even fit. So I had to get creative with the mounting. Here's the old T5 light that we replaced.
After struggling with the crappy drywall anchors that were built in to the light, there was no way that I could get this thing to hang on just those, so I got creative. Ended up running a spare 10 mm automotive bolt and washers through the junction box and using the plastic mount on the far side to hang from the junction box.
Since there was no way that I could ground to the junction box so I had to make my own ground using the stock mount even though I couldn't mount to it. Here's what I came up with
And here's the light mounted, it bulges a bit in the middle so I ended up dropping the ends down a bit to get the diffuser to sit more flush. You can see where the junction box is on the far right where the bolt and washer are.
SInce I had to mount farther to the back of the room that the original to get the mounts lined up, there is some paint and plaster that needs touched up, but over all we love the look of the new light
Ignore the gap in the diffuser, this will be fixed when we paint with some double sided tape
So a while back I had found a drainage issue with my downspout pouring water down the corner of my foundation and not away from the house. I fixed the drainage issue, but to avoid mold and future issues going forward we decided to paint drylok on the garage walls. We started with the side wall on the side of the house where the Ack sits. Here's a couple before and afters, here you can see where the water was getting in at the back corner
And here's a wider shot of the whole wall.
And the farther end of the wall.
And here's after the first can, we had painted everything by hand with brushes since rollers don't get very good coverage on masonry.
And here's a picture with the finished wall, painting around the breaker box was a bit of a pain, but there's no way water would get this far down the wall, but all in all I think it looks great.
