May need to install the diode and such. There may be a chance that the existing transformer isn't strong enough in which case you'd just need to buy a new one. I'm in the process of contacting Ring to try to see if i can get this adapter: https://shop.ring.com/products/plug-...=5433572524063 to work with my Ring 2. It's on battery now but I need to recharge about every 2 months as opposed to the 6 months to a year advertised..
My Ring 2 came with both the wedge and the angle adapters, I angled mine out from the door, didn't really want to use the downward facing one as well. The height is perfect for getting peoples' faces when they come to the door, so I'm happy with it
Another small update, I had read reviews that said that the video could be choppy on the 2 without a wifi extender so I got a chime pro as well. Even though the Ring sits on the other side of the wall from my router, I decided to give it a try. First I had to remove my old LED light switch cover that covered one of the outlets. (I had already removed the trim panel and screw when I took this that's why it looks incomplete.
I had originally bought this SNAP for the bathroom, but it wouldn't fit over GFI's so I grabbed a square outlet with the hallway in mind.
The SNAP was a "snap" to install once I figured out that you had to tighten in the screws that it uses for power.
And then I installed and setup the Chime Pro, install and setup is super easy and my wifi picture is even better now with the signal boost
Edit - first charge on our Ring only lasted a month but we did have a construction crew here all month so lots of motion alerts. Now it seems to get a few months, you should be good.

I am on the fence with getting one (the angle mount that I didn't know about moves me closer to buying, since my doorbell is 90* to the door), tell me why you hate it.
I hate it because no option for wired internet connection, and it only records 10 minutes of video on the Ring cloud before it turns off. If I also want to look at a live feed, I have to do it through my phone, and I can't do it via computer.

for comparison's sake
Arlo is only WIFI (I'm not sure I've seen any device from this genre that allows for wired network)
can be power wired or wireless
will start recording on sound or motion or both
will record motion in 5min clips (all of our videos are 10-30 seconds long, so I'm not sure where you're at with this gripe)(I assume after 5min, another 5min video will start as long as there's still motion)
will record no motion for 2min max after a trigger (this is a separate option you can activate, I don't understand why anyone would want it)
there is no limit to video they will store for free as long as you have 5 cameras or less, but they only store 2 weeks worth. All the videos can be downloaded.
You can access your live feeds from Netgear's site, but it's flash so fail.

I used the angle mount and it gives me a great view of my porch, the landing and steps as well as the driveway down to the mailbox, definitely impressed, and I'm glad that I went with the Ring 2 with the 1080P video instead of the pro which has 780p

Pulled the Acura out of the garage on Saturday to start reorganizing the garage and discovered that the downspout in the back of the house had failed and water was getting in through the cinder block wall and into the back corner of the garage, also found some black mold Thankfully it was contained mainly behind one plastic shelf which was promptly tossed along with the boxes of fire logs that I'd been storing for way too long and never used. New downspout was immediately ordered and we plan to paint the cinder block walls with drylock (had been planning to anyway this just gave us more reason). Just one thing after another
Got the drainage issue on the back corner of the house fixed, hopefully... Had to cut about a foot of the downspout off to get it to fit, but I got the water routed out and away from the house, hopefully this fixes the drainage issue that I was having in the back corner of my garage
I can't tell from the picture did you put any screws in to hold that extension on to the down spout? If not you might want to cause I have had mine forced off in heavy rain when it didn't have screws holding it on.
The house had two of them when I got it. Neither were screwed in but one day after a big storm I found one disconnected and the spout just pointing straight down. They both now have two screws in them just in case for piece of mind.
I'll definitely keep an eye on it since I cut the grass every week and I'm working on de-molding the damn garage wall currently.... I'll probably throw some screws in it just for peace of mind
Just a small update, the halogen fixture in the laundry room had started to crap out and not ignite, turns out one of the ballasts was coming loose. We replaced it with a nice warm white LED fixture that was on clearance at Lowe's when we just so happened to be looking for one. Saved about 35 bucks The old piece of junk
Just sold the 4Runner tires I was originally planning to use on my summer wheels, so told the GF we can use some of the money to get an LED fixture for the kitchen since we liked this one so much. We already have a different one picked out for the kitchen
They don't carry any of the ones you used in the laundry at any of my local Lowe's. Trying to find some good sub $50 really bright LED lights for the garage. I have two not and want to expand the circuit when I switch to LED so I have 4.
