I've already fixed the radio wire, and the hammer drill was plugged in there, so it is what it is They're actually a lot cleaner than it looks

Couple small updates on the house, we got the 9 stumps ground in preparation for the next phase of the yard work, that giant oak stump was insanely big
Another small project that we got done this past weekend was swapping out the old 1990's microwave for a new more modern above the range microwave, didn't take a good before, but here is the old one.
Once we got the old one and the bracket off the wall we saw that apparently the old installer tried to punch a vent outside with a hammer but then gave up and left all the holes in the wall.
I would have loved to patch the drywall, but I had my FIL over to help me install, so we opted to throw some duct tape over the holes to at least cover them.
I don't have any pics of the templates or measuring, but here is the new bracket mounted to the studs.
And here is the new microwave ready to go up
And here it is all mounted, I did have to drill new screw holes in the cabinets above, but it was not that bad. The old microwave was literally held up there by 2 wood screws through the cabinet that were screwed into the metal casing
And a couple afters
The new microwave is such an improvement over the old, and actually heats things evenly. The old one was a piece of and barely heated anything and the middle was always cold, so nice to have something more modern in here. The old owners replaced every appliance but the original microwave, and nowa after seeing how horribly it was installed I see why they didn't want to pay someone to change it.
I see insulation so I don't believe it is an interior wall.
I would probably look into venting it outside though, but the duct tape certainly works
I didn't have the ducting to vent it out, it may come down the road when we replace the siding. I wasn't equipped to cut through the siding, especially after seeing all the hammer holes in the drywall
Small little update, bigger updates coming soon. I have been slowly working on getting my reloading bench back up and in action in it's new home. My biggest challenge was finding where to mount the InlineFab rails. I reused the 2x4 that I had used to hang my projection screen at the last house.
I ended up mounting it to the cinder block wall with some Tapcon screws, but it is solid
And here is the finished product all mounted to the wall. I also hung a 48" LED light from the rafters. When the basement is finished this will be walled off and finished, but good enough for now to get me up and running
And here's the finished product so far, still have to get the presses dialed back in, but it's at least a workable space now
those little trays screw into the 2x4?
I feel like making a full on shelf would net you a TON more storage than that.
but yeah yeah, you already know...blah blah rocksturr is stupid whatever.
It's a rail system that screws to the wall and the trays and brackets bolt to it, they have specific holes and cut outs to hold the various parts to the press so it's a little more specialized, also I can change and move those bins and trays around on the rail to suit my needs. Sorry didn't make that very clear
It's okay.
I typed out full sentences though so I expect a "Like".
That's pretty cool, actually.
I sometimes am like MAN I want more storage in the garage...
then I realize how much space I have if I rearrange some shit
and toss some shit.
Next stage of the yard work is completed, I had a company come and regrade the hill and truck in a bunch of dirt to lessen the steepness and the grade of my back hill. It's hard to really show just how steep the hill was on camera, but I've almost broke my ass several times just going up and down it, let alone cutting it with a mower. Also, the big oak that was removed and it's stump were right in the way of doing this work so that's why it had to go. Here's when he started, you can see where the oak stump was.
And so it begins
They started out by dumping some dirt to make a ramp to get the backhoe up and down
And brought more and more dirt
He then fanned out the hill and sloped it out further
And more grading, and more sloping....
He also rerouted the downspout pipe out the side rather than right down the hill.
Top soil and then grass seed
And here's the finished product, he trucked in a ton of dirt and clay and packed the hill down nicely, the grade is a lot less steep now and easier to get up and down. Given how tight the property line is to my neighbors fence we couldn't really slope the hill out as far to the right as we wanted, but he did slope it way more gradually all the way out.
I also trimmed the trees back along the fence line as you can see in these pics
