PS3, PS4, PC: Diablo 3
the weapon isn't bad at all. it's a good bow to use once u hit 60. i was using a 910 socketed crit gem xbow till this past weekend when i found a 1k socketed xbow. the LoH for that xbow is pretty darn good. you won't need to swap out weapons when you meet reflect damage packs in inferno like i do. if you decide to go a more crit based build, you'll want more crit damage on your weapon. most people look for an open socket weapon so they can put their own crit gem in it.
if you have any questions about DH's you can ask me. i've read a bunch of builds and they really are quite versatile. i dont' know everything but i can give you pointers till you figure out a build you want. there's glass cannon, balanced, and tanking builds. with the right LoH gear, a DH can tank better than barbs/monks.
oh whatever fist weapons you don't decide to use, could i have them? I just socketed my helm and weapons so i think i might grind out to 60 sooner than i thought. always nice to have something on hand to look forward to. haha JS add me? stak#1951

I think for my demon hunter, I'm going to go pretty much all out glass canon. No resistance. Just pure dps. No sharpshooter. But with tactical advantage with smoke screen. Will try to get as much discipline as possible.
Or.. maybe with that +800 LOH on the bow that I got.. a tank DH?
And apparently 10million gold is like 15 bucks back in Korea. And that's for US Server gold. My brother in law started playing with me on US server and he gave me like 5million gold yesterday for nothing.

read something about botting yesterday. Blizzard officials posted that whoever uses and gets gold from botting will get perma banned. They said they can distinguish the bot gold from the regular gold, so whoever has the bot gold in their account will also get banned.
So, yeah, don't get any gold from your little bro.

What's like the average stats that I need to have for me to progress in Act 3?
Armor
Res
DPS
And maybe more?
I'm scared to start the Act 3.. LOL I'll probably get 1 shoted down or something.
PS: This is my new buffed stats with a shield that I just bought.

I paid 40,000 for this decent shield. So cheap.

I would actually check the forums, but if you're going to be tanky you need more block chance. A "good" shield has ~25% block chance and you can even grab a helm that has it to, though not sure if its worth it right now. I'm out of date.

JS, if I were to go more defensive as a monk, what should I look for? more vit/RA and sacrifice dps? do I look for LoH gear as well?
Wondering how these builds will work in inferno.... my wizard is about lvl 50 and I just got to A4 nightmare. Can any wizards comment?
This tanking wizard build makes me laugh, can't believe you can stand there and take hits!
a critical mass build
I was skimming and supposedly they are nerfing critical mass? Hopefully not to the point of uselessness, but knowing Blizzard...

Costco : LOH on barbs work very well with Frenzy as it let you hit zillion times per second.
I do have about +800 LOH on my barb, and it helps me tremendously in terms of sustainability during the fight. My wife's monk has about +1200 LOH and she won't be able to fight like she does right now without the LOH. We tried to swap out 1 of her weapon with higher DPS without LOH, but it's just not the same in the fight.
And I'm going to try Act 3 with my barb tonight to see how he does. I'm pretty sure it won't go well though. Need more resistance and armor as I had learned from seeing my wife's monk playing in Act 3.
As for the critical mass build. Yes, it does work. You just need 10 AP per crit from either wizard hat/source/wand as well as +40crit % with decent dmg around 25k dmg. Unlike glass cannon wizard build, you need a lot of armor and resist on this build since you do get hit occasionally in the middle of the packs.
Blizzard actually had nerfed critical mass passive skill before already. Some wizards just tested out multiple builds to see how that passive procs with other skills. You should try it when you hit lvl 60.
mrstak : I don't think I'm going to go with the tank DH build. Watched couple youtube vids and, just like my wizard, it's just not how I want to play range characters. haha
Right now, my DH is lvl 55 (played only 14 hours lol). I transferred lacuni prawler and hammer jammers from my wizard since she doesn't use them anymore, so the DH with those items + tactical advantage puts her movement speed almost 80% movement speed with smoke screen on....... It's literally flying around the map. So... I'm going to go with high dps glass cannon build. I'll try to as much discipline as possible to use smoke screen + preparation with the last rune. Should be fun.
If you are going to go with a defensive build on your monk. You should definitely use a weapon + shield build. Unlike barb, you should try to stack as much dex/your choice of res/all res as on every piece of item. Your sieze the initiative passive skill allows your dex to be converted to armor. So, dex will effectively give you more dmg/more dodge %/armor all at the same time. You will want to get at least 15k damage. Probably shoot for up to +900 all res/9000 armor and you can just keep your hp at 35k. You won't need too much hp as your damage mitigation will be insane with all those res and armor.
Oh yeah, please keep your attacks per second at +1.6 as spirit generation is extremely important.
Let me know if you have questions regarding skills.

excellent. thanks JS. i asked my other friend who has a lvl 60 of monk/wiz/wd/barb(most recent) and he told me the same advice. dex+double resist gear with vit if i can find it but mainly dex/double resist. right now i'm just powerleveling so i'm not really sure how to use my skills yet. i just use whatever i can to kill fast. gonna have to take some time later on to figure out what i'll need to use in later levels. seems like the must have passives are "sieze the initiative" and "one with everything"? the resistance one. i'll figure out my last passive+skills later. can't wait to hit 60...i have all this gear waiting!
You got all the points covered!
The last passive is all depends on which gear you have on. If you have enough LOH/LPS/LpSS through your gears, you can get resolve for 25% all damage reduction. But if you don't have enough life regen stats on the gears, you should get transcendance which gives you about 60(?) LpSS (Life per Spirit Spent).
The mantra can be spammed as you get more spirit. It costs 50 mantra, so every 2-4 seconds (depending on your attacks per second), you will gain about 3000hp.
Until you hit 60, just play with other combinations! Have fun and let me know if you need anything in game.

Nice. You did well on that! because there are bunch of 900-1k dmg with an open socket on AH for less than 500k gold..
I sold this chest armor for 3 million yesterday.. I forgot that I had posted that on AH and was trying so hard remember where I put it. Then, I checked the AH history tab, and it was there.

wow so lucky! ^
damn that mace is nuts....1.1k at lvl 43...wtf. my friend was using a lvl 60 weapon at 45 on his barb...crazy i think it was 9xx dps. might have to borrow it from him when i make my barb...
i haven't found shit in the last couple days. all my a1 runs haven't dropped anything good.
JS, i'm currently dual wielding with a 7xx spear with almost 700 LoH i think and another 7xx weapon. i tested out the monk in beginning of a1 and he's does fine. only thing is i'm unsure of what skills to use. i have two spirit generators as my primary/secondary and for the others i think i have serenity, earth ally (might switch out doesn't seem that helpful), breath of heaven and mantra of conviction. i think i have either 30k or 31k hp and 513 resists....i have yet to focus on one specific resistance to double up on. i just went through my stash and my dh and picked out whatever had high double resists and threw them on my monk hahah.

After killing Azmodan, finally bought a weapon for her too! Spent 9 million on this awesome +766 dps / 110 dex / 61 crit dmg / + 80% crit dmg gem. It was a great deal. It's crazy how the numbers work out because the overall dmg with this single weapon edges the dual wield set up that I had. So, I'm looking for a good shield with +24% block chance/+60 dex/+35 fire res/+8 crit %.
Now with the new weapon set up, I can kinda comfortably farm act 3. It's awesome.
For your monk, the act 1 should be fine. It's nothing. But, when you hit act 2, you will hit a brick wall unless you start double stacking the resistance. Try to get your all res up to 600-700 level for act 2 along with 6k armor. Your damage should be +15k at least for act 2.
This is the build that I'm using for Act 3. https://i.imgur.com/fb0Pe.png
I can get so much more aggressive in the skill build for act 1 and 2 since it's easy for my monk. But for act 3, I do need to change out the skills to be more defensive.
I'll link you the build that I had used for Act 1 and 2 later today.
Wife's witch doctor is now lvl 60. Got her some lvl 63 armor and WD looks completely CRAZY with those gears on. lol WD is very fun to play too. Thinking of making this WD into a tank.
Yea pete feel free to ask for help with a3/a4 in hell. it's absolutely no biggie for me too. even a1 inf is soloable for me. a2 is where i hit my wall. i can do it...but i do die a lot and i gotta pay attention to everything.
i'm currently gearing out my dh for some tank build fun...hopefully this pans out otherwise i'm spending gold for no reason
