PS3, PS4, PC: Diablo 3
I do use 2H weapon for my wizard. So I did the same thing for the barbs expecting similar results, but my barb has to hit faster to gain back hp and get to stun the mobs more frequently.
Barb lifesteal is kinda weak later on. Even in NM with lifesteal gear + inspiring presence, berserker rage (25% more dmg with maxed fury) and bloodthirst (3% of dmg returned as health) I would get owned by elite mobs eventually. I just can't get the health back fast enough. Seems like a lot of people focus on damage reduction and vita later on.
there's threads about it in the Blizzard forums...

Yes, and I use the rune that gives you extra health + rage from revenge. Later on though you get a rune that triggers revenge 30% more often, methinks that's even better.
I even use ignore pain with the life steal rune and I try and save my stun and revenge until my health gets near the halfway point. If it's a pack of elites, if my gear isn't up to par it doesn't matter.

I have only died about 3 times (mostly my fault for mis-use of cooldowns) but last night I died about 4 times on 3 mobs. It was late in Act 3 when you are in the tower. These 4 big guys crossed a bridge and could literally 1-2 shot me. One of them was yellow and the rest were just white normal mobs. Even the normal guys, they would hit me once or twice and I would be dead.. From full health even. Normally, I can take on about 25-30 mobs at once and walk out without much life gone, but not these guys. They whooped my ass.
ive been using 2h because they are pretty fun, once i stop leveling quickly im gonna switch over to 1h (expensive to buy 2 good 1 hands), but 2h isnt completely terrible, you get a lot of damage base so when I crit i crit for about 10k at lvl 40 and skills hit hard too,
not sure if thats how it plays out with 2 1h, but im gonna switch over eventually

What level is your barb?
I like using 2 fast 1H like dagger/sword on my lvl 38 barb. Fast weapons with 2 fast swords just look funny when frenzy is fully kicked in. lol it's like non stop swinging.

You failed me!
Freaking nightmare diablo.
Who was that other guy?
I think I'm going to get some new gears when I get up to lvl 50. I don't think I've touched any of my gears after lvl 40. I think I can put out much more damage and have more hp with some better gears.

i just beat it last night with a friend that was in inferno plus we had 3 guys against it so its much harder
now im 43 with some outdated gears, once i hit 44 i have new stuff and then ill report back, still trying to find a setup i like too fully
i play with a DH and Wiz and they pretty much destroy everything, those classes are so broken, and its annoying that i cant solo champion mobs because so many mobs have abilities that destroy melee classes, lava floor, poison, freeze, confuse, whatever, you name it.
only like fast/teleport enemies can bother ranged classes. Blizzard really didnt intend for anyone to play a melee class at higher levels. Ive had a lot of fun with barb, but yeah, im butthurt about the balance
they patched DH this morning to add a cooldown to one of the broken abilities, and well see where they go from here, my friends describe some of the shit they do and it pretty much seems like the dev team had a hard on for those two classes during the design phase

^ A DH nerf was necessary. It was idiotic that I could just spam Smoke Screen and use Prep for 30+ seconds of invulnerability.
But having Smoke Screen go to 1 second (1.5 second with Lingering Fog) is a bit much especially with the game being DRM - 1 second isn't nearly enough time with the instant teleport champion mobs, and a network hiccup/spike will guarantee you're dead.
They should have just kept Smoke Screen at 2 seconds, but removed the Lingering Fog rune (extends to 3 seconds) or kept everything the same but put in a CD to prevent chaining the ability.

bought this 280dps rare mace for like 3k off AH.
shopping.
I'm sure I can get something much better for like 500k gold, but i'm pretty damn satisfied with these small stuff.
lvl 50 wizard : 9k hp / 4k dmg with force weapon
hopefully, after i shop for my new gear set when i get into Hell tonight, i'll be around 12k hp / at least around 9k dmg

I went all out on a tanking build for my barb. I'm having fun, but you may not like it if you like to see big numbers and utterly destroy everything. But I got a really good weapon and shield off of AH and can hold my own even against bosses and champion mobs. Even with max survivability right now I hit regular mobs for ~3.5-4.5k each cleave (Hell)
I do agree though if you go 2H or 1H/1H then you're gonna have a bad time. There may be a viable lifesteal spec but I haven't seen it and tanking works fine for me. Usually my friends who play a DH and WD die 3-4 times for every time that I die.
I don't mind being a meatshield. I didn't really like tanking in WoW (as a warrior or DK) but I like it in D3, if that says anything.

Ok, I'm totally going to be a noob here but I need help.
Just got the game only played it about 2 hours and already level 9 barb. I came from Diablo2 LOD with Godly characters, but my questions to you guys
1. I noticed you can add friends just like D2 you have a add /f list, but how do I add you guys and what are your user names?
2. I could be wrong but Single mode and Multi-player mode no matter how much you accomplished in single mode it continues where you are in multi-player mode? Meaning your progress, skills, gear ect stay the same from one mode to the other?
3. You know for Diablo 2 there are different skill sets that help out your main attack. My Hammerdin in Diablo 2 does 20k Damage with a few things maxed out together to make hammers stronger.. so is this the same case? Diablo 2 skill sets are easier to understand.
4. Pertaining to the question above has anyone made a list of how to make the perfect character? For those here with lvl 50+ what have you put your skill sets to for a barb, or any other character?
5.Random game play but any town scrolls? I'm guessing all items are already identified? you know in Diablo 2 you have BO for barbs, or every character has some sort of enhancement is D3 the same??

I can only really answer #5, but town portal comes in later as an ability. Somewhere around level 10 or 12. And you can identify items in town.
I wish I had more time to play! Only got my Wizard up to 22 so far. Those of you playing the Wizard, are you using 2H weapons, or a weapon/shield combo? Also, what good are the spellbook offhands? I missed the tooltip that explained what they are and I can't seem to find anything about them online. They don't seem to add nearly as much as a you would get using a 2H weapon.

Spellbook offhand = think of it as the equivalent of a quiver to a bow for arrows.... it is just a special item for that class that adds stats and other properties. If you found an awesome one, use it. If not, no biggie. Just another item for your choosing.........oh and to look cool.
and for 04WDPSeDaN:
1. Press the letter "O" to bring up your friends list or click on the bottom right side. There is a list in this thread a few pages back. Feel free to add copy/paste and requote it here.
2. Yes
3. Yes and no. There are passive skills, but the active skills do added damage + other properties. Some passive skills work more towards certain weapon types.
4. Depends on what you want as perfect. There's many sites out there for various builds and play styles.
5. TP is via a quest you accomplish and identify is just done by right clicking now. No need to return to town or have scrolls to do so.
I just started up a new char. DH. weee!

my friends always like it when I'm on... I use ground stomp to set up/group up mobs near our AOEs.
if anyone is having trouble with barbs on Hell, this is the build I'm using, since lvl 56.

I've faced plenty of champion mobs, they don't give me trouble... unless they're fire chain-linked jailers that spawn arcane sentries or something. I can even tank a group of champions with an elite + minions and not go down.
alternative build for a ranged barb which my friend showed me... gonna try it out tomorrow

He's getting off 40k+ crits (and runed weapon throw bounces to hit two additional targets, like a mutalisk
) and I even saw his charge crit for 70k. This is on inferno too. He still focuses on the barb's utility (stuns, heals) so it seems pretty effective.

Beat nightmare last night with a coworker!
I finished about a half of hell act 1, and it's been pretty easy so far. Just picked up couple of my gears with about 40k, and i don't feel the need to upgrade all the major items yet.
So, I'm just going to keep collecting gold to get some great items when I hit lvl 60 or before if i feel the need to upgrade as i progress through act 1,2, & 3.
Lvl 52 wizard: 12k hp / around 8k dmg with force weapon buff
i'm currently using this POS magic 2H weapon that has 270dps. so... if i get something like 600 2H weapon with nice int/vit stats, i'll be golden!
I want a wizardspike.
Too expensive for me anyway tho. It's trading around 2million gold.

Can't decide whether or not to stick with a 2H high dps weapon or go with a 1H weapon with a shield or offhand. I've heard that 2H high dps is the way to go for the hell level, but the other option is better in the inferno level since we need a lot of armor as well as + to all resist stats.
We'll see how it goes.

I understand your sentiment about "cheating" to an extent - upgrading gear in D3 is stupid easy with the AH compared to how it was in D1/D2. Its not a bad thing though.
