Damnit really now I may go back and play D2. Blizzard has their hands full right now I guess. They have starcraft 2, cataclysm, and D3. Plus an unnammed MMO in process.
Diablo III beta is out.

"Mained" a Warrior in WoW, gonna be a Barbarian in D3
I've never played Diablo or D2, at least not for more than a few minutes at a time at friends' houses. They're all excited about it, and by association I can't wait either after hearing how addicted they all were.

yeah I don't think I will be getting since you cannot play the game offline since it requires a persistent internet connection so basically no internet, no diablo 3, and there is no offline mode so far in the beta either, somewhat disappointed in blizzard at the moment.
sooooooooo one of my coworkers luckily got selected as a beta tester. he gave me his battle net account after he was done with it. i played about 4 hours with my favorite character, a female wizard. it's really easy, so you can basically finish the story line quest in less than 2 hours. But you get to play in public room filled with other testers. Testing out different set of skills and crafting items are very addicting already.
As a long time fan of this game, I'm very satisfied with what it offers in beta.
Can't wait for the real one.
They'll probably release it in....... oh wait...... it's Blizzard. It'll be released when they are DONE.

The beta only lets you finish the first couple quests. I'm pretty sure it's like .01% of the entire game story line.
Also, once you reach lvl 13, that's it. You can't gain anymore experience.

I'm in the beta as well.. It's a lot of fun and a huge time sink. When I do play it, I find hours gone after i'm done. You play the first act out of 5 acts. Same modes apply that applied in D2. Easy. Hard. Hell... There may be a medium in there as well.. Not 100%. Takes about 2 hours to get there at about level 8-9 or so, assuming you don't kill everything on the map for xp.
They took D2 and made it new..Pretty much.
I think one of the coolest things about this game is going to be the real money auction house. I told my wife about that and she said "And you're gonna play it, right?". So, that's how I got my wife to approve of the game.
I think MoP will be out this summer and D3 will be somewhere between there and Christmas..

So at like level 14, you unlock this one spell. That's it. As you level more you gain runes which modify the spell. but it's a fixed unlock path. You are spoon fed your skills.
Also forces your main attack to generate your "mana" "focus" "hatred" (depends on what your character is) and your right click to be the spell that consumes it. So you can have a multitude of unlocked offensive spells, but you can only pick one. And after switching, there's a cool down before you can use it.
you can read more here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/4475...nges-2_18_2012
basically, your character isn't locked to any one skill set. You can change it on the fly. But it also means you cant specialize.

The longer its taken to release...I hate to say the more my interest has waned.
perhaps once it comes out something might change. But the reality is I don't have to piss away on a game such as this anymore. To many responsibilities these days.

That's because it's going to take 10 years before we see Diablo IV
So going to get this game.
Going to need a new PC build too. Been holding off waiting for the new Ivy Bridge chips... stupid Intel, hurry up.
