Prices of used vehicles hit an all-time high last month as softer new-car sales brought fewer trade-ins that dealers could sell into a strong used market. Wholesale used vehicle prices (on a mix-, mileage-, and seasonally adjusted basis) increased again in May and pushed the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index, which gauges used-vehicle prices, to another record high. The May Index reading of 127.8 represented a 5.6% increase from the year-ago level.

Yeah I should've pulled the trigger on an S2000 while the prices were still lower. I guess I'll wait till wintertime.

Only reason price is high is because production has ended. Dealers couldn't give them away back in 2008 and 2009.

Anyone want a 2002 S2000 in mint condition with 21,500 miles for $25,000?

I contacted the seller with the 3,800 mile GPW S2k.

He said one buyer came by, offered him $26,500 (only $500 less then what he was asking) and the seller said no. The buyer left, and on the way home called the seller back, offered his asking price of $27k, and the seller said the price just went up.

Kind of an asshole move in my opinion. Especially considering that I found out he bought that car 14 months ago for $2k less then what hes asking now, and it had 2,600 miles on it at that time.

I found a BB 08 CR near me that I may take a look at. It has 32k miles on it but theyre asking $25k. Its at a dealer, if they are willing to be a bit more flexible with the price I may pick it up. The only thing Im not a fan of is the radio, which was swapped out for an aftermarket headunit. I dont need the car though, so I have absolutely no problem waiting for another one to pop up at a better deal.

Yea, Im not even going to waste my time looking at it. He said if he cant get his asking price he wont sell it. Something tells me hes going to have a nice low mileage S2k for awhile.

Wow.... hate cockbags who do that. I e-mailed someone once about an automatic kouki S14 a couple of years back (I was all crazy about getting a swap done in one of those) had a straight body and everything for $4000. I e-mailed him only a hour after it was posted, but when I got a reply about half an hour later he said there were multiple people asking for the car and that the asking price was now $6500

just shook my head and sent his e-mails to the trash

One of the main reasons beside the obvious ones is more and more of "us" are sick of the heavy, boring cars. and s2000 offer the best performance, fun, mpg, engineering and of course Honda reliability at a very affordable price.

there are times that i really want to sell my s2000 due to its size but i can't seem to find anything that can replace it under $70k offers the same "feeling"
i could have bought a 335, M3 but they are just not the same...

So demand is high, very limited Supply = high price.

I've read that its VERY common for them to tear over time due to wear...

mine has a little rip but was patched up with some kind of adhesive? light passes thru, but water doesn't. lol i'll be switching over to a hardtop once this one gives out completely

Congrats on the AP1! Do you still have the TL?

I'm not one who knows a lot about the S2k but what front bumper is this?...

A local guy has that car and I'm in love with it. So clean.

Haven't been on this site for a while but figured I'd swing through and check in on the s2k community. I just picked up an 02 s2k, this is the second one of this year that I have owned. Having a blast with it.

ASM everything is expensive.

Howeverr, the AP2 front bumper looks good.

Spend that cash of some suspension or track goodies.

The reason why I'd want a new front bumper is the re-spray job done on the bumper by the previous owner is awful. The clear coat in several places is peeling. Can't notice it from far away but up close it looks like your skin peeling after a sunburn.

If I were to get a new bumper it would be the APR one. Looks a lot like stock just with the front lip.

Just picked up a silverstone/red AP2. Perfect mod to the UA6, wouldn't you say? Pardon the dirty cars and the bad pictures; photoshoot soon hopefully.

Yeah, it was a blast! That was from San Diego National tour this past spring. the first day (the course in reverse of the video) was quite a bit slower, because most of the first half was uphill. The picture was taken in the left hand sweeper about 3/4 the way through the run.

Heres the video from the first day:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFBNN...e_gdata_player

Had to get some heel toe downshift going on in there LOL.
