The Official Honda S2000 Thread

Go for it!
I can honestly say the complete package that is the S2000 is the most amazing piece of machinery I have ever owned/driven. The execution is downright amazing and in my opinion is somewhat a last hurrah before Honda (for lack of a better phrase) moved moved away from "drivers' cars". Newer Hondas feel very disconnected compared to those 5-15 years ago. /rant

Damn, I dont like red
Preach on, brotha.
New Hondas do feel disconnected. Most of the blame is on that damn electric power steering and drive by wire. Its so numb.

S2ks have EPS, its just good EPS lol. I can kind of sympathize with you on the DBW, I owned an 04 TSX and do own an RDX. Once you drive it for a while you don't even notice its there anymore. But there are times where it lags a little behind. On the other hand, it makes traction control, cruise and several other things simpler to control.

The AP2s have DBW as well, but as you said, well tuned. The 8th gen Accord DBW sucks.
I like having a cable connecting my foot to the throttle body, not a wire loom. I don't like TCS (my car doesn't even have it). The only assist I like is ABS, unless on a track. I dont like power steering that much either, but some power steering systems feel ok.

04-05 are manual throttle (no TCS) 06+ are DBW (yes TCS, but a button fixes that). But the 06+ ECU is flashable, meaning FlashPro for ~$500 versus KPro for earlier models which is ~$1500. (I have KPro, it is many awesomez! but Flashpro has many advantages over KPro)
Since you mentioned TCS I'll point out that you don't drive the S2000, you ask it nicely to go the direction you want. If you get pushy it'll let you know who the boss is LOL. Especially in the rain... I have ended up 90 degrees the wrong direction several times in the rain (once or twice that has put me into an oncoming lane). TCS is amazing for situations like this, and can be easily turned off with a two second press of a button (where the rear defrost button is on earlier models). Just saying....

Great choice. I had to go across the country for mine, but is is worht it every time I hop in
Flashpro on DBW is an amazing tool.
Like the EPS if done correctly it is not an issue-Honda got this one right
I turn TCS off on track, but the benefits so outweigh the throttle cable, I wouldn't have it any other way.

The fact that it's CPO helps (warranty)
That's the least "valuable" color and you can find them with half that mileage for about that price but maybe not CPO.
Not an awful price but I would think $19,500 would be a fair price to pay.
