The tires they installed are fine... just not what I ordered. I was pretty annoyed but patient. I can understand how a mistake like this could happen. I find myself judging people and companies by how they handle screw ups more so than if they screw up lately.

Makes me feel better, then. I've seen folken ripped off in this manner, so if you haven't paid and they are sourcing the correct tires for you, then cool.
Hondaguy, those are great working pix of your S2000.
I didn't even think of taking the passenger seat out for cargo room! It takes only a couple of minutes to do (I know because I did the Kodokan seat locks and it is REALLY fast to do).

i had 235 45 17 and 255 40 17 in my 05 before... didnt like it. too much understeer... and steering wheel feels a lot heavier.

I test drove an 07 today, and i couldn't stand it. It may be a fun car, but not for me. I'm 6' and $140 lbs and i was cramped and had trouble using naything in the car.
It was really nice but the boxster i drove right after it won my heart back. Now, where can i find another boxster?

Thats surprising. Im 6' and I hover around 150lbs and the S2k fits me like a glove. Even my brother at 6'4" and ~200lbs fits comfortably in it.

the front of my right knee kept hitting the dash, even if i put the seat back and felt too closed in. I didn't really have a chance to take it on the twisties to test any performance.
I guess since i am used to the flat 6 this higher revving 4 wasn't for me. I didn't like how the clutch let up at the very top either.

Some taller owners buy new seat rails to lower the seat, allowing for a better fit. I'm 5'10" and 175 pounds, with long legs, and I fit just fine without any seat change. I fit better now that I've lost almost 20 pounds in the last 2.5 months, in fact.
Did you get a chance to take the car to 8k rpm? Yes, you have to rev high to find power, but the aural experience of doing so is heavenly. The very high clutch release point is an idiosyncrasy that many have to get used to with this car. It does feel strange initially, but then it becomes second nature.
Still, though, it's not a car for everybody. The Boxster itself is a sweet little ride that you can't go wrong with. And you want to buy one again after selling yours? Wife allowing it?

I did notice the surge in power between 5-7500 rpm an that was nice. I like the power to kick at the lower rpms.
I think it was taching around 4k @ 80mph and i think that would annoy me. I want to buy something that i can use year round, maybe.
I sold the boxster thinking i wanted to save that money towards the next house, but after refinancing and already saving, i want a toy or a dd.
pshhhh, she's got her own money, as long as she pays her part of the mortgage and retirement, she can do what she wants with her money. She never asks about mine either.
Once i test drove the 03-s I got that grin back on my face. The sound of the flat 6 idling and the pull after 3k rpm was something else that i missed
If i can find a clean one or even a 99-01 911, that may be a dd and get rid of the rl.
decisions. The Hershey porsche swap meet comes up in three weeks so i'm hoping that i can find something there.

The S2000 engine does stay at around 4k rpm at 80 mph. That's another idiosyncrasy that S owners live with.....usually by turning up the radio. The S can be used year-round, especially the 2006-up with traction control. All it takes is a good set of winter tires. Personally, I wouldn't use it year-round like that, but then again, I have an AP1, which has no traction control.
To get more power in lower rpms, the only solutions are mods. 4.77 ratio gears make the car much more drivable at lower rpms without adding power. To get real torque at lower rpms, though, the only solution is to turbo, which costs in the neighborhood of $4k at a bare minimum for a used kit and install...and better than $7k for a new kit and install. Even supercharging the S2000's engine will help the upper end better than the lower. Either way, it's an expensive proposition. That's why I ultimately never did it, and used the money I was going to spend on power mods as a down payment for my torque-monster CTS-V.

No problem at all, that's good information. Anything you really want pics of at teh meet? There's usually about 1000 cars parked in the porsche only parking lot and then there's the cars getting judged.

Wow. $25k for a 2005? While that would ultimately be negotiated downward, that's an awfully high offering price. Then again, it IS Grand Prix White (less common but very popular S2K color) and it IS convertible season, so I guess anything can happen.

Im interested in it, but $27k is a bit steep in my mind. Ive asked for more pictures and I had a few questions for him. He said his price is firm, but Im not sure how long he's had it listed for sale. I dont think its going to sell at that price.

From what several people qualified to speak on the matter have told me, yes people are paying these prices. Clean used cars are getting all the money.
