Reminds me of when a girl is crying and her mascara starts running down her cheek. Why do people go for that look? I can understand being different, but....

Thanks for posting that pic. Im pretty confident its vinyl. If you look at the bottom of the fender you can see the edges pulling up.

The white is vinyl and the black and silver is some new paint pen that creates the drips.

thanks for the compliments everyone.

so far, she's got:
pss9
oem front lip
17" let28t
30% tint
ppi 6.5'' components
alpine deck and amp
k&n intake

i'm looking to add side diffusers and a shift knob. maybe a rear diffuser if the ridiculous prices ever drop.

Finding one of these that hasn't been molested is seriously hard work. So many with rebuilt titles, bumper damage, ripped tops, ugly mods, etc.

I've been casually looking for years but I found out this week I need to buy a car ASAP (my company take home is no longer a take home ).

Is it realistic to think I can get a clean AP2 with 40-55k miles for $15-16k?

Yeah I'm going to look at that one tomorrow. It's $3,000 lower than anything else comparable in the area so I'm wondering if it's a little rough.

Damn - If that turned out to be clean car, I'd pick it for asking price in a heartbeat. There haven't been any deals like that in my area since I've been looking...

It was really beat up. Several scratches, two curbed wheels, AND three 0.5-1" rips in the top.

Soooo.... I bought this one instead:

It's an '06, 25,000 miles. I paid $18,500. I didn't get the best deal on the planet, but it's a super clean car (I saw 3 others today before it and none of them were even close). There was a couple looking at the car when I arrived and they were trying to pay $18,000 for it and the guy wouldn't go for it.

Congrats! That's really low mileage. I would get an S2000 but I don't have my own garage spot.... too worried about people stealing the seats.

mr5parkle have you had issues with people messing with your car? I live in SJ too, but I don't think I could sleep well at night parking it in my driveway.

I'm pretty surprised with how loud the stock exhaust is...makes me wonder why people buy aftermarket.

well i park my car in the garage at night, and work in palo alto so i never have problems there.

i've driven it out and about around town to downtown bars and whatnot, but always parked in paid public parking either in a lot or garage. no problems so far

Don't mind the rear wheel, it was for a show and the 32mm offset was all that was on hand, the 48mm offset would be a much better suggested option (Courtesy of Toronto Honda):

I didn't even know you made wheels for the S Rondy. What's the story-one offs or starting to produce?

As long as the wheels are 5x114.3 the S can take a ton of offsets depending on the width of the wheel, just like the MX5..only staggered.

18" x 8.0", 48mm offset front to back with 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 tires. In the case of the pics, the 32mm offset was used incorrectly in the rear, hence the poked out offset look.

Congrats, mrsteve!

Ron, nice wheels. So 48mm offset is right size for the rear of the S? Those look good....I ask again, they are one-offs?

No, theyre the same size the CL uses. I had a set, and I loved them.

IIRC the stock S2k offset is +55mm, so mid 40s would be perfect.

So... is it normal for the exhaust to have a raspy/metallic-like resonance right around 2,700rpm?

I've read a few posts over on the S2K forum about exhaust resonance and I'm wondering if this is what they're talking about.

Im not familiar with the S2k exhaust, but check the flex pipe, it may be cracked or disintegrating. Might be an exhaust leak too.

My S2000 doesn't make that sound, either with the stock exhaust or with the new Tanabe. It could be a loose heat shield, or it could really be an exhaust leak/loose exhaust. The only way to know for sure is to get under the car.

I have an appointment at the dealer tomorrow anyways. The center console sliding cover over the cup holders is broken and the dealer said they'd fix it at their expense. I'm going to have an oil change (don't know when it was last performed) and have them inspect the exhaust.

Thanks guys.
