BSprinkler, all you can do is try, sir. Rule #1 is always be prepared to walk away if you dont like the deal and feel your offered price is reasonable

Feedback???
I hate to quote myself, but...

Thanks for the opinions and comments. They did help me decide to call the dealership this afternoon. The salesman I spoke with said that someone had the car for an "extended" test drive, but still wasn't completely sold on the car. IMO, if they're out for an extended test drive in an s2k and aren't sold on the car; they're not serious about buying a sports car.

Anyways, the salesman told me that if the car was still available, he'd call me, but wouldn't bother me if it was sold. I said to him, " No, I'm very interested in this car. You call me either way when you find out." I just hope he calls me. You never know with some of these guys!

So, I've decided to fight for it if it's available. I've decided on a price that won't upset me afterwords if they say no, and we'll see what happens.

bgimsth speaks the exact truth. If it's exactly what you want don't let $1000 stop you. Unless of course you will do $2000+ worth of worrying about overspending.

S2000 registry...go post your car's vitals

The guys at S2KI have started an S2000 registry for owners, akin to those run by more exclusive auto makes. The idea is to keep track of cars as the S2000 becomes less common, and especially since it was discontinued after MY 2009. You need the last 4/5 digits of your VIN, MY, color, etc., even if it was totalled.

neuronbob,

Thank you for posting the info about the S2000 Registry.
We are trying to compile as complete a registry as possible. Please post the following in the thread linked to by neuronbob:

User name
Model Year
Last 4/5 numbers of your VIN
Exterior color
Interior color
City
State
Country
Club affiliation
Whether or not you still own the car. If it's been totaled please let me know.

Once again, thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in the registry.

Do any of you know if a set of 16" wheels from a 2003 Acura CL will fit on an S2k? It's a weird question, I know. But a member on s2ki.com is looking for a set of winter wheels for his ap1, and I have the set of '03 CL wheels for sale. He wanted to know the offset of my CL wheels too , but I didn't know...

If nobody knows if the wheels will fit, does anyone know the offset measurement? Thanks.

Typically, FWD Honda offsets are very high (+42 and over). I dont see why they wouldnt fit, however.

i read non-staggered setup can get a bit hairy sometimes... idk how non-staggered handles in snow, ice, severe rain, etc.

Ken has plenty of time. He's looking for a perfect S2000. With enough time, it will happen.

On my personal S2000 front, after trying to sell my brand-new, never opened Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust since July, I've decided just to put the damn thing on and enjoy fall driving with a deeper-sounding exhaust. Now I just need to find the time to get it installed.

Also was planning to go to the big Honda Homecoming meet in LA, which occurred today, but wife's examination schedule put the kibbosh on that idea at the last minute. I'd planned it as a nice vaca for the wife and me, alone, without the kiddo. I was looking forward to driving cross-country, too! Bummer.

I'm in talks with an S2k owner in the Seattle area, he has an '06 white. Beautiful, just over 20k miles and comes with all the accessories and a hard top (including the rack). Trying to knock his price down though, he's (rightfully) asking for all the money. Drove it earlier today and I had the biggest smile on my face.

ALRIGHT KEN!

I hope this is the one for you.

On another note, I finally installed that Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust on my S2000 on Friday. Bought it almost two years ago and it's been sitting in my garage since then. Tried to sell it on S2KI for two months (unopened) and it didn't sell. I therefore said "what the hell" and had it installed two days ago.

Let me tell you: GOOD DECISION. It sounds GOOD. There is a deep tone and except for at initial startup, it is only slightly louder than stock. When the car starts up and is not warmed up, it sounds louder, but the sound reduces when the engine is warmed up.

I am waiting for the rain to die down here to get decent video clips, but I promise you they are coming.

I assume like most engine mods (other than forced induction) on the S2000 this doesn't add any noticeable increase in power?

Correct. Intakes, headers, and such are a complete waste of time on the S2000 except for the sound/entertainment value. You have to turbo or supercharge the engine to gain significant power. I almost supercharged my car but decided to buy a CTS-V instead.

I really love it. It's very easy to "over-mod" an S2000. It really doesn't need much if anything at all. Good choice!

Unless you are freak with the Hondata and are really changing the maps up to accommodate the mods. Even then, the car is darn near perfect out of the factory.

Please do post up pix.

I bought tickets and a T-shirt but at the last moment the wife's schedule (big exam coming up) prevented us from going. I am kicking myself that I didn't just go by myself.

<-------very impressed.

I'm glad you like

A couple highlights are:
Fully built 2.2L F20c (stroked the F20 w/built internals, not the F22c)
PT76 turbo
Dogbox tranny
Mustang Cobra R rear end
and what seems to be an endless mods list. iVtec kit, water meth probably up next for more power along with some more suspension/drivetrain mods (not like he needs it LOL)

The car is still driven regularly too. I did stall it at a light, couldn't get it out of 4th gear. It was my 1st time driving a car with a dogbox tranny. Feel free to pick up the magazine for a more in depth mods list.

06-09 are the DBW and use the Hondata. They were talking about a GPW 06 so I figured it made sense.

The BB S with 1000+ is amazing.

And in for pics on the HC II from G and Chops.

The only hardtop I really like is the OEM one, but damn, your cousin's S2000 is beast!

I've really had an itch to get an S2000 lately, though it's been on and off the past year or so. I don't care that it's impractical, I don't care if it doesn't have much torque stock, I want one!

Just wish I had a garage... don't feel comfortable leaving it in my driveway. No way I'm kicking out my mom's TL-S and my sister's ES350

I keep regretting cancelling my order for an 09 GPW/red S nearly 2 years ago. Should have just done it and sold the CL. But one of these days I will pick one up.

If anyone knows of one for sale with a FUBAR'd engine, please let me know
