Congrats!...............
Here's mine: MY00, very low miles (was a weekend car for a pharmacist), new Koni yellows, new Robbins top w/glass window, rear 'vent' mounted speakers and installed my ArcAudio 12" in the lower trunk (flush-mounted). Since these pics, i've installed Skunk2 coils to drop it, and bought AP2v1 wheels painted satin black, and an OEM lower lip. Anyone wanna by my CL-S? ahah

taping it up was fun. i got so many looks on the road. when we stopped at the waffle house to eat, i had every person in the joint staring at us and asking us whats the tape for. I told them what it was for and they still looked at me crazy. most people thought it was a good idea, especially with all the trucks on the road.

looks good. i really wanted silver but the red was cool. but a plus for my car is the glass top and the leather center console. i might not be able to start modding it this summer since my wife says that since i got my baby, she now wants hers. but definetely on the list are rims, coilovers, and CTSC.

You should have told them that car is the test mule for next Honda S2000 or the NSX.

Nice car btw. I am hoping to get one someday because insurance rates suck at age 21.

yes insurance does suck. its gonna cost me about 125/ month and thats with 2 other cars. im gonna keep insurance on it for 6 months then for the other 6 months get collision for $100/6 months. i would like to get a turbo, but i hear that a supercharger is a little more reliable, but you dont get as much power. maybe im wrong. i don't know if im interested in a HT. I like the looks of them especially the Mugen one, but im mostly gonna keep it topdown and i will only drive it on good days. a HT just defeats the purpose unless it was my DD.

I apologize for my Black Market moment, I wasn't really trying to disobey the site rules. BAD MOD!

But the SC has just been sitting in boxes in my house since I bought it. It does deserve to be on an S2000. It's time to get off my butt about it, though. I will post properly in the Black Market and in S2KI when the time comes, probably in the next week or two, and I'll let you know when it's posted.

I don't suppose anyone would be interested in a straight trade?

'02 RL, white with navi 45K in pristine condition for an AP1?

There's gotta be someone out there getting rid of one..

I'm looking at a 2000 S2K with less than 20,000 miles. Guy wants about $15,000. What do you guys think? Any reason to not buy a year 2000, thanks?

Thats a little bit more than I'd pay unless its in mint condition. Twenty thousand miles is very low of course, just make sure the fluids have been changed.

The only complaint I have about the 2000/2001 years is the plastic rear window. 2002 and newer have glass with a defroster. It can be switched of course.

I think that's a reasonable price for low miles, particularly if the car is mint. If it's not mint, I'd knock of a couple thousand and see if the seller bites. The only objection I have to the 2000 S2k was noted above as well--plastic rear window. This CAN be replaced with a glass window, though, again as noted. Or you could get a hard top and not worry about it.

Thanks guys. I will only buy it if mint. Asking prices seem higher out west. I am aware of the plastic window and solution. Beleive it or not, that price seems to be in line for the miles and according to kbb and edmunds. I will try to get it for a few thousand less but again, the price is in line and similar to 2-3 years newer with 50-70,000 miles.

We will see what happens.

just a little food for thought. i bought a 2002 with 18,500K miles for 14K even though the blue book was a little bit lower. but this car was mint condition , a solid "Excellent" under KBB.com . it has the solid glass window with defroster (although will never be used), and it has the leather cover instead of carpet around the center console. is the car modded whatsoever, or completely stock? my car came with a front lip and some clear side markers. I also have a drop in comptech filter that was never installed.

Thanks, I have been using you excellent purchase as my model. So far the car appears to be as clean as yours but with zero mods. The car is just over 100 miles away and I am still doing background work and considering it.

Frankly I'm going back and forth regarding the purchase. I have a clean one owner (me) 1993 Del Sol with 134,000 miles, all of which I can account for. There have not been 5,000 miles put on it in two years. It's my fun toy and the S2k would replace it. I really don't need either but the Del Sol has been paid for for a long time. Also, I can run it to the vtec range and stay legal!

The Del Sol is not an S2000 but they serve the same function for me. I probably have almost as much fun and have more space in the DS. How do you guys pack for a weekend trip, toothpaste and credit card only? Right this minute I'm leaning toward being happy with what I have. The best way to do that is stop reading this thread and to stop test driving S2Ks. To be continued. Enjoy your toys.

Am seriously considering an S2K in the near future.

I am fairly certain on an AP2.

Question is the major difference on the early vs late MY.

I know the 2006-8 are a different throttle or clutch set up, but is there any other substantive difference?

2006-8 have traction control. Boooooo if you want the "pure sports car experience", but Yayyyyyy if you want the daily driver experience. IIRC, the 2004-05 don't have traction control.

06+ has drive-by-wire, VSA, different seats, and rims than 04-05 ap2s.

This would be a weekender and a play toy. Kind of like yours Neuronbob. I have a TLS as a DD to haul the kids, but the S will be a weekend top down toy.
Probably not looking to track it but will do some drives with car clubs.

The rims on the 06+ are better looking IMHO.
I haven't checked out the seats. Is the bolstering and support better in one vs the other, or is it a style thing?

The traction control question sounds like it got answered, but confirming it can be disabled/shut off when desired.

the headrest doesn't have a hole anymore, if you can picture what i'm saying.

also, the rollbars have speakers, stock. since it's dbw, if you want to boost someday, you'll need hondata or an ecu. 04-05 are easier to boost.

Great info. I may consider FI at some point, but if I am gonna blow 5-8K on Fi , a few hundred on a hondata map won't be a killer.

The headrest is solid, unlike the 2nd gen TLS which has a hole in the middle-got it

Speakers in the roll bar are a nice addition for more DD type stuff

I think that's a little too much. Look harder and I'm sure you can find a newer one for that price.
