I'm usually not a big fan of silver cars, but that's just about perfect especially with those rims

After all that talk about not modding, I'm having my first mod done next week. I'm having an aux unit installed so I can use XM and my iPod. I'm keeping the stock HU and speakers as they don't look like they are worth enough to steal. I'm also having a two-way alarm installed because the S is such an attention and theft magnet.

That's all I've got planned mod-wise unless a sexy set of wheels that's better than stock comes along.

Would you believe I'm having lots of trouble finding decent-looking wheels for my S? The only ones I really like are the SSR GT1 five split-spoke wheels from a few years ago, and they are no longer manufactured. The AP2 (2008) wheels look OK, but that's about it.

I guess that's a way of letting me know I shouldn't mod the appearance of the car.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.

Edit: Looked into it. He's got GT10s and they are not staggered.

Like I said, it's a sign that I shouldn't mod further.

This car is pure s3x0r5!!!! I love the CE28's. The very SMALL changes in AP2 are a big improvment imo. Neuronbob- gets some rims and the AP2 bumpers!!!

I've had it for 5 years and it's still a blast! Perfect 3rd car.

Wheels look great! I keep toying with the idea of getting a set of CE28's but I know then I will want to lower it, and it will open a big can of worms I don't want do deal with.

Bilstein PSS9 coilovers soak up the small and large bumps better than stock, and they handle better too. Great mod... and I choose my mods carefully.

Those CE28s do look good close up.

I prefer the look of the Honda center caps as well, nicely understated, not too blingy.

On a related topic...
What do you think of RonJon Inspyres on an S? This pic shows 19s, which are too big for my tastes, but they might work in 18s?

Also would the rear offset of +42 for the 18", 8.5 wide wheel work on the S' rear? The 18", 7.5 wide wheel with +50 offset would work nicely in the front.

The design of the inspires is too angled to match the s2k IMO. I wish the devotion 3 piece would come in staggered 18's!

I do, too. In fact, when I went to the RonJon site, that was the first thing I looked at, as a former Devotion owner. If they were staggered, I'd probably bite.

The Inspyres also come in a satin silver design that is not chromed, and if I bought those wheels, that's what I'd buy.

Still waiting for a decent narrow split-spoke 5-spoke design that fits the S. Dang...it's like the RL, tough to find decent wheels outside of the CE28s. It seems everybody has the CE28s, though, that's the only reason I don't jump on board with them.

With all the s2k owners on here maybe we can petition Ron to make some new sizes

THIS is the look I'm seeking. These are SSR GT1s, no longer manufactured. They'd look good on my silver S. The ones in the picture are 18's.

A lot of the SSR wheels look great on S2000's, it's a shame they are both heavy and prone to bending. I also like the TR Motorsports F3's, exclusive fitment for S2000's, no hardware required(I hate hupcentric rings), factory lugnuts and center caps work; not to mention they are forged and light weight in the factory size.

Hmmmm, those aren't bad. They are VERY lightweight in the 17" size. VERY expensive ($429/$459 in 17" S size), but may be worth it.

Much cheaper then CE28's though for similar sizes, and you don't need stupid expensive lugnuts.

As long as it's not Work Meisters. Everybody and their mother has those on an S2k

They do look nice though

Oh, yeah, everybody has those, too. They are tried and true, like the CE28s. I want to try something different that looks good. It'll drop into my lap someday, I guess.

That looks terrible on so many levels. I think the Enkei RPF1's would look hot on the S2k, plus they're hella light

After some searching ( ), I found that AZA Wheels makes a lookalike of the GT1s called the Z-01 and a sister company the Exel DL-46, but the company that is the only outlet selling both (Wheelmax) has a poor reputation in some corners of the Interweb.

http://www.wheelmax.com/aza_wheels.asp

Edit: The wheels also don't come in offsets that fit the S2000.

Again, yet another sign that I need to stay stock.

howabout Legends in 18" or 19" or both?
You would have to stagger tires, not the wheels.

I like the Legends on the S--that Liquid Graphite color would match my silver S perfectly, but I'd prefer to stagger the wheels. I know some stagger tires on the S, but I'm not sure that's safe on a car like that. That's another thread altogether, though.

Couldn't you get devotions with the small lip in front and the large lip in back?
