Well, I just kept thinking you ride in my fkng car once a month, if that...plan accordingly! Headband, hat, hair ties...but then she started talking about the knots she had in her hair last ride and I ride in it top down to work every day and why do I have to do it with her in the car. Whopptie do...5 miles to work light to light...not cruising down 35 miles of highway. She is a joy killer. I'm like, do you know how many fkng chicks wish they could be in my car with me with the top down getting a tan and enjoying South Florida weather!?!?!

I said it, but she knew it was kinda a joke.
Kinda.

WTF.

dayum, that looks awesome. How did you do that garage door again? The work you've done to that house is stellar. I even love the house numbers, might have to go get some in that font...

Fuggin Sam...hahahaha...
Thanks Sam and Tyler.

Those are the raised ones from home depot.
The garage, I had the "door diva" professionally do it. $550 and took her a couple hours...she's been doing it for 20 years.

Wayyy off-topic, but Laurie brought over the Accord for some lighting install/troubleshooting. I installed her Amp'ed front emblem, fixed her fogs and then cleaned and dressed the engine bay. Believe it or not, this is 20 minutes worth of work on the engine bay:

After:

We just squirted down the bay with water, wiped with rags and then I dressed it with Silkolene Pro Prep. Good stuff!

The idea of selling it kind of went out the window after I spent $1500 fixing it up

I really don't know what I'm going to do about the driveway situation other than bitch & moan, the idea of hiring a contractor to demo the existing driveway, re-grade it, repour is

Thanks - they really are great cars.

I've said it over and over, but I've always lusted for a 2000-2002 B5 S4 Manual. I know they're maintenance whores, I've known they've been treated like whores, but it has everything I want in a car.

This color x 100000

Throaty turbo V6, reasonably light, AWD, restrained looks, sized right with huge mod potential. Every fiber of my being says to not buy one and stay far far away, but my heart says otherwise. I will own one eventually - browsing through AutoTrader and finding 1 / 2 owner stock examples with under 100,000 miles doesn't help either.

In hindsight, after owning Honda after Honda product, I've been so ridiculously spoiled with reliability that I could not justify one for daily duties.

Weekend car? Ab-so-fucking-lutely. /rant

Anything that floats, flies, or fvcks should be rented and not bought. The above being a maintenance whore should be rented and not bought.

I wish I had money (and was legally able to drive) back when these were new so I could lease one and then dump it at the end.

So much want, so much more don't want.

Also, Avant or GTFO.

If I could afford another car + high mod & maintenance cost it would be right up my alley.

AT VEGGIEMONSTER!

Yeah, that's awesome...
5.0 with an exhaust does the same for me though...and really, although could be unreliable...could be fun too! And cheap to fix!

Tyler...bump your radio up to the aftermarket first...the extra voltage make the stock speakers sound great. They had a much better range than the aftermarket infinity speakers I had laying around.

Also note that the stock plastic basket is very shallow and you won't be able to add big magnet speakers.

Yeah, I'm planning on buying an Alpine headunit along with the Modifry controls from a local member who stripped his S2k to be a dedicated track toy. Once that's done, I'll want new speakers because they SUCK.

I don't need anything crazy, just speakers that won't distort at high volumes.

I'm saying the stock speakers are actually good. They just need more power. That's why they distort. They're not even paper cones...they're poly and have a great range of sound and not just a tinny high sound like a lot of the aftermarket ones.

I'm not sure what model this Alpine unit is, but I'm sure it produces more power than the stock headunit.

I really need to do this...speakers in mine are equally as bad. Probably because they are the same speakers.

I already have an aftermarket stereo but mine is some POS JVC unit that the previous owner installed. I want to swap it out for Alpine or something like that soon. The one in there is so sh1tty that it will only interface with Apple products. Which would be awesome if I didn't have an Android phone.

You can cut the baskets to get anything to fit. Either that or buy the modifry the adapter rings that raise the speaker height to get mostly anything in there.

I need speakers I can actually hear...

Going to do the same with the DCI and get a different head unit.

Yeah, if you wanna get serious though,
get the rings, get a component set, of quality...and a 3 channel amp to power the fronts and run a little baby sub out back.

Dave posted up a pretty cool set up he did.

I just didn't want to add weight or get away from the intent of the car since the TL satisfies in the music department.

I'm not adding an amp or sub. Just speakers and an actually good head unit, I should be good with that. For any other audio purposes, it's roof down and foot down.

I got lucky---PO had replaced the headunit and speakers with quality shit. Pioneer HU with BT, SAT, CD---all the goodies plus Alpine 2 ways in the doors. I installed a 5ch amp, 10" footwell sub (Alpine Type-S) and ran all wiring. I was really afraid of running the wires to the doors, but it turned out to be very easy with a coat hanger through the rubber grommet piece.

Not sure how good the OEM speakers are, as I have not heard them. However, J's point of adding power to make them sound better is true, particularly if the cones are poly and not paper. Methinks you will not be satisfied with them, though.

Easiest install method (for the HU only) is to get a Honda harness that you wire into the new HU and just plug into the OEM harness to use the original wiring. No muss, no fuss. When you find that you need more POWER, you may want to consider running new 14-16g wiring.

I have a PDF of the 2000-2003 Honda Service manual (should work well for all years as far as interior trim removal) in my Dropbox, if any of you need/want it:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/h99a6m7xro...02003.pdf?dl=0

Here on AZ, when you have a car problem, solution = buy a new car

So you should know what to do if you don't like your driveway/house.

fixing thing is overrated.

Had no idea this thread was on here. Got my LBP last in August last year. Flew to Tampa Florida to buy it and road tripped back to KC. It's an '08 and had 32k on it when I bought it.

Pics at the link below with one of my dipped TL as well from the meet in June.
