I should just leave my car unlocked so they won't hurt my car when they steal it
They couldnt break into my car so they ripped off the metal around my keyhole.

They broke into your PT?

Nothing to do with your car itself, I just don't hear about PT Cruisers being targeted much. Did you have something valuable in plain sight in your car? I'm a former Integra owner.... so I'm OCD, paranoid, and overly-cautious about my car.

still.... doesn't mean you shouldn't protect your car. Only when you know the pain of losing $600+ worth of stuff combined in your car do you realize it. Damn near lost a 1-year old laptop on top of that too. Who's to say they won't key your car or jack stuff up anyway while they're breaking into it/stealing it? Anything is better than having them go on a joyride and completely screwing up your car. My friend's '88 Camry was missing for 2 days and when it was recovered the steering wheel had to be at a 40 degree angle to drive in a straight line and it hesitated and made weird noises on acceleration.

Your car, your call

If you don't mind drive up to Bellevue, WA then you can jump on this deal.

You better bring it to summer meet.

I have an alarm system. Its been broken into twice. Once they broke the window and stole all my stereo stuff and my turbo timer. The second time they tried to pop the lock manually and failed.

Ended up shaving the keyhole

I have a modded car. Its going to happen whether the modded car is a popular one or not.

The best decision a lazy guy has ever made. Nice move.
Keep driving her top down during the summer and you shouldn't be single for long!

Not again!

Make. Up. Your. Mind! Just keep it, you'll feel better the next time you wind her to 8k rpm, in a tunnel, with the top down. I have such an itch to drive mine, but it's supposed to rain, then snow this weekend. Dammit!

That's cuz the 335 is a POS and needs improvements galore.

The S2K is perfection right out of the box!

Jeez. That's been making the rounds on S2ki as well. Meh. Just like every Honda, the S2K is designed for safety. The only problem I see is if I get T-boned by an SUV with a high bumper. This is more a problem for people taller than me (5'10") as my head doesn't go above the headrest. CR complains that the car has no side airbags. Well fricken duh, it's a CONVERTIBLE.

I don't worry about it, I just try not to drive beyond my capabilities.

BTW, Ken, did you buy that yellow one yet? Drink the Kool-Aid, join the leghumping.

The reason it scores low is BECAUSE side airbags aren't standard.

I looked at like 6 S2K's that were 'deals too good to be true' before I finally gave up and raised my target price. Most of the 'great deals' were a little rough with misc. scratches and or dents. Some of the owners tried to convince me that it was a good deal because the car is still fun to drive. I wasn't interested in a rough S2K as I knew I wouldn't be putting a lot of miles on it and didn't want it to look like it went through a war.

Keep looking...you will find a clean, low miles S2K.

Car's pretty safe in side impacts. 5 stars from NHTSA for side impacts (although their test is not as tough). Its good high sills, foam blocks in the doors, and twin impact beams instead of the usual one. In fact, I'd say its one of the only cars I know of that fairs well in side impact collisions despite the lack of side airbags.

Not perfect by any means like a Volvo, but pretty damn good in side collisions. Just look on s2ki, and see how many owners have survived some pretty nasty stuff.

Any luck on finding another one Ken?

70+ degrees here and sunny.. top has been down allll day. Had some hotties flirting at a red light too

Two other things:

Have you guys tightened your throttle cable? Mine had what seemed like 1.5 inches of slack (supposed to have a little under half an inch). I tightened it and wow what a difference.

Also- if you don't know how, learn to heal/toe rev match downshift.. this car is made for it and I have finally got the technique down. What a blast!

Today was so much fun

The throttle cable tightening makes the car much easier to drive smoothly, even if the car has DBW there is still a cable and chances are great it needs the bulk of the slack removed. Both my brother and I bought 08 S2k's and I adjusted my cable with in the first week I got the car, I adjusted his last week, he called and thanked me on the ride home, he couldn't believe how different the car felt.

Rev. matching the downshifts is a must on a rev happy engine like this.

Another must do, free mod is cutting the white wire with the black stripe that allows you to operate the power top while rolling. You still need the e-brake one click up, but you can put the top up while rolling which is a huge convenience when pulling into a spot or out of one(assuming you put the top up) and I think it's kind of pimp to operate the top while rolling.

Didn't know that. I presumed DBW meant that there was no mechanical linkage between throttle input/output.

That's actually exactly what DBW means. AFIK, only 2006+ s2k's had DBW.

AAAHHH, for some reason thought they switched to DBW in '04.
