^ Agreed.
But dont you need to get the doors open to unbolt the seats? I would think the stock alarm would go off when they try to unlock the doors from the inside...

- the general public really has no clue about exactly how vulnerable they are... I mean there's sh*t you would never even think of.

By the time a thief gets to the seat locks they would have already cut the top open and may just slice your seats out of spite. That said the car is still drivable, but its a pain in the ass to deal with.

I was completely turned off the the ITR in that regard. No matter where I went it would have to be in plain sight 100% of the time or in a garage.... not happening with an ES350 and a TL-S in the household
The OEM hardtop makes the S2000 look a lot better vs. the soft-top up
All those Spoon ones are ugly as shit though. Better than having your car totaled, either way.Now that I think about it, there's no way in hell I could have an S2000. One of my jobs is near a mall, and one of my former co-workers got his GSR stolen, as in GONE, twice and they broke into it a few times over the course of over a year. Screw that....

Same theory with locking gas caps. They cant steal your gas but when they realize they cant, they key your car.

The car certainly has the potential to be a classic. However, it will likely soldier on for another 5-6 years, just as the NSX did, until its discontinuance.

@ the locking bolts and locking gas cap theoryoh, they can't steal your seats so they'll just cut them in spite
oh, they can't steal your gas so they key your car
oh, they can't steal your car so they set it on fire
I should just leave my car unlocked so they won't hurt my car when they steal it

The S2K does have some collector potential.

Doesn't matter whether Honda makes 100k more. I
this car. I get back in my RL after driving my S and the RL feels like a Lexus (e.g. soft steering, soft brake pedal) now.

it was mid-60's today, sunny and I hit up some back roads and had a blast, this car is just too much fun to drive.
The S2000 was voted "most likely to be a future classic" in 20 years, by Classic Car Magazine or some such.
I think they'll hold their value very well. e.g. of the breed may/might include the last gen supra or the last gen rx7, both of which are japanese sports car that seem to hold their values extremely well if kept in top shape.
Not to mention that lack of driver talent has send many a S2000 to the wrecking yard = even less on the road.

Come to LA and count how many you see on the road on a daily basis.
If these cars become a collectors item it will be a LONG time from now. Its not like these are limited run cars. perhaps the CR edition.
