Been there, done that.

Now they're recommending the LS1 swap ala the V8 Miata. LOL! I plan to leave it stock for now, while I get to know the car and especially the shifter and RWD handling. The only mods I plan in the future are wheels and an exhaust. Debating whether to go with 17's if I buy new wheels.

I am so excited I can't sleep. Haven't felt this way about a car since I bought a 3G TL 4 1/2 years ago.

I plan to do the Mid-Ohio racing school this summer. It's sponsored by Honda/Acura and while most of the track time is with TSXs, they offer time with their S2ks as well. I want to learn how to drive this little guy properly.

As far as a license plate: NRNBOB should do the trick nicely.

Edit: where is that link about the guy who drives year-round with the top down, and blogs about it. I could swear I found it in this thread, but I can't find it!
awesome. congrats - i am highly jealous

STOP IT! I can barely contain myself. Those are great pictures! My right hand aches for that shifter, my left foot for that clutch pedal. The anticipation is killing me!

The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend in Cleveland....guess who's going for a long drive in his "new" S2K?

Everytime I see the black/red interior I really like it, but I don't think I'd want to live with it.

I think he means more like just having to look at it every day...

For instance, I love yellow cars, but don't think I could own one myself. I'm just not a yellow car guy...

I love the red interior, on both black and white cars, but don't think I could live with it every day. It's just too flashy for my tastes.

Lose the red carpet and it's perfect.

My buddy has red/black seats and door panels and black carpet. Looks hawt.

The interior was one of the biggest selling points for me- guess I am flashy

The all red, however, is way too much for me.

I think mine is a nice balance with the conservative exterior color

I thought I had some balls driving with the tops off in my car at 40 F... that guy is insane, driving in the snow with the top down!

My ideal S2000 would be GPW with black interior and all-red seats

Aside from those blue lugs,

Id LOOOOOVE an all red interior.

Unfortuantly I only know a handful of people personally who have S2000s and the ones with the red interior have had their seats stolen at least once.

So until I get a place with a garage, an S2000 isnt in my future.

^ Its one of the reasons why insurance is so high on the S2k. So many seats get stolen and they are very expensive.

My S2K adds only $70 over six months to my policy. Then again, I live in a safe neighborhood, have multiple policies with the same company, have a clean driving record and am married to a woman who drives like Grandma Moses.

Hopefully, black seats are not as popular with thieves? I guess I need to invest in an aftermarket alarm.

Do a search for seat locks over on the s2ki... They use a lot of different means to secure the seats.

Done. There's one guy who sells seat locks over there. PM'd him and will stop worrying as my car is garaged. The RL will have to start sleeping outside, though, as my wife isn't giving up her garage space. (2-car garage, 3 cars)

Yup, tomorrow's the day.

Car is 80 miles away from me, so this time I rented a car to drive down in the AM. The rental agency gave me a V6 Mustang. Awful...it wheezes and it has a fake V8 burble to it. Ghastly. The interior is terrible.

Can't wait to take delivery...

In all honesty, I wanted a GPW w/ black interior...cause I was never really a fan of the all red on the AP1s.

Of course, the black interior was offered for like 1 year on the GPW. After a long stint with that tan interior...*sigh* Oh well, in the end, the red/black is balanced well in the 07s and I'm quite happy about it.

Supposedly seats are like $4,000 each from the dealership.

If the theif cuts your softtop and steals both the seats it's probably a $10k insurance claim. That's high enough to total some AP1's.

Picked up my car this morning.

If not for the rain, I would have enjoyed my 80-mile romp home. Rain+Bridgestone S02s with 11k miles + 48 degrees F=careful driving...though once the tires warmed up, they were more sticky in the rain than I expected.

Pics tomorrow as I am exceptionally busy this afternoon.

I'm 6' tall and 175lbs and fit with no problems at all. It depends how your balanced your body is, if you have a tall torso and shorter legs it may be harder to fit comfortably. My brother also has a 08 S2k and he is 6' tall and around 225lbs and he fits, though I imagine he exceeds the limits of the lateral support. I have a friend who is 6'3" and around 260lbs and he just looks like a blob of shit wedged into the car, though my roommate is 6'4" and around 200lbs and he looks like an adult riding a kids tricycle sitting in it but you can't see it from the outside.

My biggest complaint is pulling up to lights, I usually can't see them when the top is up with out leaning very far forward.

that happens to me every other day, but the good thing is when you are driving towards the sun light in late afternoon, the top will block 80% of the light for you without using the visor.

i am 6'1 and i fit just fine.

Neuronbob...congrats on the car man! Fantastic stuff.

If your gonna be hitting up in track events at Mid-Ohio or anywhere else, PM me. I usually hit up Putnam (3 weeks from now, can't wait), as well as Mid-Ohio. Thinking of doing a track day at autobahn up in Chicago. Either way, it'd be great to see you out there.

S2000 mania here on AZ! Good stuff
