The side controls still work with the Apline headunit. He may have installed that DCI thingy.

I actually cant even find the owners manual. Maybe they forgot to give it to me.

Wheres the secret compartment? Not the one thats in the middle console that flips down?

Thanks for the advice!!

He must have a DCI, which means the previous owner was an enthusiast, its not the type of product one just stumbles upon.

If you open up the glove box, the middle compartment that flips down, towards the top center there is a latch and that rounded trapezoidal shaped piece that has the wind deflector on it will fold up, just don't tell anyone I told you. Its a big inside joke in the S2k world, the infamous secret compartment.

Yes it flips up.

The shift boot is easy, just pinch the leather and pull up

I'm with you, now that I have one I kick myself in the ass for not getting one sooner, every time I go anywhere this car puts a smile on my face. I've never had a vehicle that gave me so much joy from driving it, as much of a car whore as I have been I do hope to keep this for a long time.

I'm an unabashed car whore and I think this car would cure me for at least 10 years. In the long run, I'd save money

That is a highly desirable color combo, and a fair price. You should be able to find new left over 07's for 27-28k. Keep in mind you can get a new(08) for 31k and change all day long and there were a few changes for 08.

lol that's what I thought too, there's no fu*king way a S2k making that much power, but after reading that article, after seeing results from 2 different stock AP2 S2k's, I can't deny that it does make that much more power.

But even with 240whp, I don't think you can smoke M3...BMW has been known for underrating their engines too, besides, 343hp at the crank, with a 10% loss, that would still be over 300 at the wheels, that's way more than enough to offset the weight difference.

I have dynoed my car with AEM V2... 215WHP...

and

E46 M3 does not have 300 at the wheel.. try 270-280.

and IF a s2000 has 240 whp.. it WILL smoke a STOCK E46 M3... but too bad it doesnt.

i know this because i do business with e46 m3 for living

That's very interesting. Probably those two cars are factory freaks but I must say the chance of testing 2 cars like that is pretty slim. I can't explain why they would get 240whp as TOV is a well recognized Honda community and they have proof to those numbers....I mean if you go up to them and say that AP2 only makes 215whp stock, they will tell you there's no way that's true and they will probably say there's something wrong with your car. But I am sure you have your own dyno sheet to back up, so..I don't know...probably different dyno machines...different weather conditions, etc...

Great car Jesal After weeks of contemplating buying an AP1 I held myself off, wasnt an easy decision. I decided to wait for a nice AP2 to come along myself as well

All the above. Will be signing up today for a track day at Autobahn Country Club, its a 3 day event.

I just had to email the Audi Club director to make sure what I need to track the convertible. Most likely need a roll bar.

Autox for sure.

Ken, there were a couple good deals in Texas if you willing to drive out there.

I found an alpine manual for a headunit and amplifier in the car. I think the other owner might have installed after market speakers/amp. Radio sound terrible but when i plug in my Ipod (ipod adapter with HU) the sound is pretty damn clear.

Btw, there is no CD changer. CD changer on the headunit is really the mode for the Ipod. Guess I had classical music on there after all.

Congrats on the S2k. Most fun you can have in a car with your pants on

Few things:
- TRACK it
- AutoX it
- Drive the hell outta hit
- Cold weather + Summer tires = Watch the rear end

Have fun!

I am so jealous. I have always wanted that but chances are it won't be happening any time soon, if I do get something it will have to be my only car so a little more practical (MS3?).

Well i think membership is $20k to join and then a yearly fee. But most of the local clubs rent the track out.

Check out http://www.windycitybmw.com/Activities/Activities.aspx and http://www.audichicago.org/upcomingEvents.php

Those are the two i will be tagging along with since i have friends in both. But most everyone is super friendly even if you dont have a euro.

I need to see if a bone stock S2000 is SCCA approved for track use. Otherwise i need to find a roll bar that is SCCA approved.

Autox isnt a problem since its under 50mph. Sorta.
