The S2000 is assembled by hand in a factory in Tochigi, Japan, right alongside its elder sibling the Acura NSX. It is affectionately referred to as the "baby NSX". Since it is hand built, its production numbers are limited-- just 15,000 per year, of which the U.S.A. only gets 5,000.
Ha my noob ass didnt know that. Kinda makes me feel bad tracking it now.

Curious, what exhaust system is everyone liking?

Depends on how loud or quiet you want the exhaust? I personally like the HKS that my buddy has installed.

Actually yours may have been built in Suzuka rather than Tochigi. Mid way through 2004 Honda moved production to the new plant. I'm pretty sure to automate some of the assembly. There is a sticker on the inside of the drivers door...next to the gas tank door that will tell you where it was built.

Mine was Tochigi

I been actually daily driving it for the past 2 weeks. My leg muscles are getting a workout from getting in and out of it.

I even debated selling the 335 till i realized how much of a hit i would take on it.

Sell it to Scribby

So between the S2k and the TSX, the BMW gets no love from the eurosnob... ironic.

New fuel economy #'s are suprising bad for the s2k. 18 mpg city/24 hwy and needs Premium? Yeesh.

Stupid question, but does the AP2 feel like "fast car" when you punch it from from a 2nd or 3rd gear roll? I should just go test drive one I guess.

Eh...a 6-speed 350Z or G-coupe taching through 2nd and 3rd feels "fast" to me when your in the passenger seat. Does a 2.2 S2k measure up to that sort of description?

Ever driven a go-kart? You know that its really not fast but feels/sounds fast yet you still have a blast driving it? Kinda the same thing.

Oh and i dont expect to get good gas mileage when the RPMs are at 4k when cruising 75mph in 6th grear.

ok - 350 or G might feel a bit faster in the first 3 gears because of torque and different powerband - but later on the S2k will probably feel faster. But overall both cars are very similar - the S2k is slightly faster tho.

A good driver instruction course with an instructor who is familiar with S2000’s.
Also depends on what your going to do with the car. If you’re the occasional tracker, a good set of tires and alignment will set you up nicely. People do all these sway bars, and suspension modifications without doing their homework first. If your going to track it, you don’t want to just throw a set up springs or coilovers on it and call it a day, you can hurt the handling if not done properly.

A good little mod, that actually adds a bit of throatiness to the motor is an Intake. Personally, I went with the K&N FIPK, no worry of hydrolock and a decent design.. Really grumbly when accelerating.

Ken I LOVE that combo! Especially with the 06+ seats!
Do it You will not regret it

No need as the car is already equipped with rollbars. You should not have to upgrade anything as far as that goes!

Im totally not into JDM modding. I been on the S2k forum and i think the mods most people do look terrible.

/snob[/QUOTE]

I couldn’t agree more, that is on exterior mods though.

Congrats on the AP2 Jizz! Not sure if you knew, but I bought a NFR MY06 last year. I actually really like the Suzy Blue with Blue interior… Does yours have the blue top as well ?

Like I said mine is an 06 with a few mods.
OEM Front Lip, Side Strakes, and rear lip spoiler
K&N FIPK Intake
Berk Technologies Stainless Steel Header and Test pipe (still have the stock exhaust, I like it quiet) There was a group buy,and I got both at a great price.
Upgraded 7/8 size windscreen to reduce the in cabin turbulence
Ricks Voodoo Pearl aluminum shiftknob. www.Rickss2k.com
Grillcraft Front Grille

Redid the entire audio system with :
Alpine CDA 9885
Modifry DCI
Polk Audio MOMO series MMC6500 components in the doors
Kenwood speakers in Lucid rear panels (Vent looking things behind the seats)
Alpine MRP 450 Amplifier

LED License plate bulb…. Lexus looking.. very bright white

Nope mine has the black top.

Im actually not going to mod this car till i do more driving events. Was just curious what was good to tweak.

Also I heard back from the Audi Club, they wont let me run unless I add a roll bar. Even the factory roll hoops arent good enough. But no worries as I found many other clubs I can race with that require nothing.

Post some pictures of your car!

Kind of scary how similar are stereos are, I'm running:

Alpine CDA 9885 w/ipod cable
modifry wired DCI
Polk audio momo series mmc6500 in the front doors
Single JL 10W1 in Wlaurent fiberglass enclosure
JL e4300 4 channel amp(mine is over the gas tank, next to the spare, hidden behind the trim panel)

The only thing you can see is the enclosure everything else is hidden, it sounds surprisingly good, the integration is phenomenal and it was fairly inexpensive.

I do agree, this car is very easy to over mod, a few tasteful bits can help but its easy to over due it.

Thats cool, I didn't even know you could get a colored top until I did some Suzuka searching... I've really liked the color more and more, and the fact that you could still get a fully colored dash in other years besides 02-03.
Of course my favorite interior is the full red interior on 2002 white cars (also was available on Berlina Black and Sebring silver).
Thats nutty about the roll bars though... Silly german clubs

Wow, thats awesome!
I love my sound system now, and I forgot, I have the Ipod cable snaked into the glove box.
I didn't want to bother with a sub though... The Polks actually put out pretty good mid bass.

Thanks guys.

Yes Jes, tons of Silvers... My Integra was silver, and I always wanted a red S2k, so I did it.
