The best way to learn car control fast is to do autocross. You can push your car to 100% of your limits immediately in a safe environment. Look for autocross schools or evo driving schools in your area, and you'll learn a lot real quickly.

Great suggestions, thanks guys.

I realized also, in retrospect. For most of those great drivers, oversteer is something they experience and counter and control. They aren't purposely trying to cause it like a fuckin dumbass

Sexy.
After spending a ton to get the black honda h's and black side emblems on the last one, decided to go the plastidip route on this car. I normally am against it, but it came out very cool looking. I ended up liking the black on black look, since it gave it depth.

Got all my modifry goodies in too...including the sidemarker module. Probably one of my favorite mods for the car. Got that, the soft top straps, and glove divider in tonight. Also used that stormsure with a piece of another soft top strip to patch up that sewing job I did on the tear in the top. That ish ain't gonna leak now! That stuff will hold a seal without anything supporting it...with support, I doubt it'll leak.

Figured I'd share in case you guys wanted to fix, or even prevent a future tear in the normal corner spots.

RPF1s are the shit. Who cares if everyone has them. I used to have a buddy with a red AP1 and 17x9 gold RPF1s on it, looked the biz.

Modifry Sidemarker module...I used one on my TL too. Works like a charm. On with parking light, then still signals. Bob is the f**king man.

Whoa, dark emblems really pop out on yellow paint.

So .. I must ask, what's your plan for wheels?

Well, if I wasn't a numbnut, I'd still have my Advan
In a way I'm glad it's forcing me to think outside the box.

Honestly, I'm gonna sit tight for a long time. I actually really love the AP2V1's that I got with the car this go around.

Yeah, everything pops on the yellow...and she photographs decently too!
Did dip on the emblems too...love the black as the background, although I'm removing it as it's not even visible from a distance, just looks like a black square.

I would have gone with gold if Enkei's version was a bit more "gold" and less flat mustard-ish.

I like them on black/white.. but no matter how I tried to picture it, they never sat well with me. SBC was an easy choice over the silver though. love it on red...

I loved your Advan's... such beautiful wheels, sucks you got rid of them.

black on black conceptual is cool but in practice, the contrast in depth isn't captured so it all blends together. I had my Acura badge all blacked out for a while too.. but eventually picked out the background because like you mentioned, it just looked like a black square.

Contrast is key to everything.

Also in regards to your new color scheme:

Thanks, Johnny Tran.

Yeah, I'm sure I will! It does suck, but, alas, still enjoy them on the TL and I'd probably go with something different this time around. We'll see. In theory, I'm keeping it simple/cheap and just enjoying driving.

My TL is on the market right now for this very reason...except for it's my current wife not future.

I was going to go Mustang but I just cannot get over the S2k and it's becoming a collector car too. I'm going to buy a FoRS for my daily/winter and drive the piss out of an S2k in the summer time.

Anyone have a spare garage I can store a car in?

Sam...you sound like me. Even after having owned one and feeling like I wouldn't go back to the same car again, I couldn't bring myself to pick anything but the S2000 again, over any other car...for various reasons.

There's just something special about it. I'm going to buy one and keep it forever or as long as I possibly can. The mustang is great fun and a huge laugh but the feeling the S2k gives you is second to none. Wife said I need to sell TL to buy S2k, it was up on forums and C-list that evening.

Now I'm quickly going to be up to 4 cars...

Are you talking to me?

If yes, kind of... Brainerd Intl Raceway is about 2.5hrs north of me and Road America is 4hrs east. There's nothing in the immediate area though.

People in MN aren't particularly into racing...at least not the kind of racing that requires anything but an oval dirt track.

There are a few autoX set ups in the area though.

Bob is the effing man. Soft top straps, glove divider, camera mount, phone holder, side cup holder...the guy is a genius. I love it.

Sam Doe, you pretty much described exactly how I feel about the car. Straight line performance isn't it, but as SOON as I turn the wheel, millions of smiles.

Modifry is indeed the man. I need to pick up the soft top straps just in case I need them in future. All I need now is his phone mount to go along with all the other stuff I bought last year--glove box organizer, cup holder, radio/dash control module.

Fingers crossed, plan to be at Mid-Ohio with the S2000 next week.

Bob...couldn't agree more.
I highly recommend the sidemarker modules too. They make the sidemarker light up when parking lights are on and they still function as signals. Just like on the TL. In fact, I contacted Bob about them to use them on my TL so they'd signal (reverse functionality from the S) and he said go for it...they worked like a charm!

PS, got home with some extra energy. Damn the bottom of this car is pristine...
Swapping Rear Diff/Transmission/Engine Oil. Good news is all the fluids look pretty clean. The bad news is all the fluids look pretty clean. So I'm probably doing it for nothing. BUTTT...for $150 in parts and free labor, I'd rather start off right. Still need to do antifreeze swap, valve adjustment, new valve cover gasket, new plugs, and new brake/clutch fluid with my mityvac 7400.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right?!?!

and for the rear Differential...thank goodness for the pivot head snap-on 1/2 ratchet with micro gearing...I was able to get creative with the 23MM socket and angle it right to get it off. Otherwise, box wrench is the only option.

Time for spring cleaning and updates!

- My wife got me the Modifry GoPro windscreen mount.
- Possibly buying new tires, still have a bit of tread though.
- Convertible top has some tears, going to sand down the bar and patch. If patch doesnt hold I'll buy a Robbins top!

an old acquantence of mine had a white s2000 with the tan leather interior back in the day. That car was so gangster. I always wished it was available with a beige or brown top though.

Is there possibilities to change the soft top color with aftermarket options?

Lots of aftermarket choices!

I've seen blue, black, red and tan without really looking.

Funny, I have the exact setup and I could live with or without tan leather

If I find a decent deal on an interior swap I'd be all about it .

Red ftw! And you bet your ass I'm not being sarcastic.
