I've noticed since its cooled off in the last week or so, that when rowing through 1-2 at high RPMS, the tires no longer chirp.

not that I care, but I noticed when it was warmer they were cutting loose more, which is strange b/c I would think they would stick better in the warm.

That is strange. What tires are you using? Maybe they are a little too hot when it was warmer and caused them to get a bit greasy?

Sold mine for $3200 in January...all hardware included.

Other RS, you doing the Q300? Make sure you go high flow and not test pipe...you'll get rasp. I'd also highly recommend wrapping the length in header wrap. I find that it gives a deeper tone.

Just the tip!
You're welcome, bud...you won't regret it. You can't catch one 2nd hand? I paid $600 including the JHT header and flowmaster high flow cat.

I really love the look of the mugen replica when painted and the fake windows left black. I think it flows better than even the OEM one.

Much appreciated! Sorry if this is an ignorant question, but whats the fundamental difference between sealants and waxes?

Nowadays the asking price for OEM hardtops in good condition with OEM hardware is between 3k and 4k (max) depending color mostly. White and black are on the higher end.

sealant is normally a chemical bond...wax is like, you know, topical wax on wax off miyagi.

The Mugen Hardtop is the hardtop that should have been offered from Honda.

the OEM top doesn't flow as well with the body lines.

^ This - flows perfectly.

Seen it in pictures & in person, this exact setup looks so good.

Question for you guys in hotter climates:

Is it just me, or is our car extremely sensitive to heat?

I feel like the car is easily heatsoaked - it's a night and day difference when I first drive my car at 4:30am vs. 2pm in the afternoon.

Oil & engine temps are good, coolant & oil levels are good - just feel like the car really struggles when it's in the 80s & 90s once you hit operating temps.

Anybody recommend any modifications to improve airflow to keep the temperature under the hood down? I'm guessing modifying the windshield cowl would be a good start, but I feel the engine needs improved airflow all the way around.

Honestly, I had the FIPK, tried to do the coolant bypass to the throttle body to no avail...when sitting at a light with all that stagnant built up engine heat, the damned thing would bog when I'd first try and take off...I'd have to rev a bit before the light changed to get it going.

I think that's a big reason people go through with cutting out those areas in the hood in that design. I don't like how it looks though. Driving the car in the morning and evening was definitely night and day from lunch time.

Yes, it's very sensitive to temperature changes. It IS a four cylinder after all, so low torque to begin with.

I have zero against Miata's, but this is why I don't like the OEM top

it looks like they took a gerneric dome shaped hardtop and latched it to the car.
it also looks unfinished the way the back window just meets the trunk.

the mugen is full framed and as mentioned above, it contours to the body better.

OEM does have great visability though.

I actually like the factory hardtop

The Mugen hardtop looks good when you have other, more extreme aero mods to go along with it. Without it, it looks kind of...bulbous.

then again, in Florida, there wasn't any really good reason to have anything but the convertible top. Nothing beats being able to drop it with the push of a button.

I hate the black painted part of the Mugen hardtop. Also never liked the OEM hardtop for the NA.

OEM is my favorite for the S2k...

Yeah, but I'm still not a fan. Unless, as civic said, there's a racecar theme to go along with it.

I like the convertible aspect too. But when it's too hot (middle of summer) or too cold (dead of winter) I'm not going to bother with that.

In my Camaro I would plan out my errands to happen on days with nice weather so I could take the t-tops off

great thing about hardtops, is you can take them off with ease!

I will have one in the near future, and if its a beautiful day and I have the need to cruise topless. i'll simply leave it at home and go for a joy ride. If its a day where im going to be making a lot of stops and leaving the car for long periods of time, I'd be riding with the soft top up anyways.

As someone in that position, I disagree strongly. Unless you live with a guy friend...or have a very stout gf/wife...you can't take it off with ease, you have to take it off with your balls in your throat at the idea that every time they say it's heavy, or slipping...they're gonna drop it. I bought a set of those window installer suction cups and could remove it myself but it was heavy and I still had those FUCK PLEASE DONT FALL moments.

That's why I sold mine...
in addition, you will likely be tempted by the weight savings to gut the soft top and then all topless pleasures are gone.

I wont be removing the soft top.
the car is for pure driving pleasure, not gonna be competing in it any time soon. the soft top stays!

I've seen a how to video of a guy that might have weighed 150 lbs... removing the top by himself in a cramped area.

add to the fact that it will most likely be carbon fiber and I have a fully capable GF when it comes to hands on stuff.. it shouldn't be an issue.

Im with you 100%, i despise the black part directly behind the window, the OEM to me looks most in keeping with the overall lines of the car.
