On a side note, even if I like everything about the car, I cannot get used to the center console. It looks like something that belongs in a minivan. I cannot wait to drive it too.

Normally the official day of summer is on Jun 21st, but once in a while it is on the 20th. This year, 2008, it is the 20th which is today.

Once these cars hit the road they will draw all the attention from everybody... When I ever spot one of these I would drop my jaw.

That's rite... I know.

Trust.

The sedan has more presence than the coupe. I was wowed by the sedan concept at the auto show. The coupe was just meh.

If my numbers are right (they probably aren't) this car will have a great amount of horsepower (286) but be a torqueless wonder (156ft.lb.)

286 hp? i thought they were aiming for 300+ hp with the 3.8L V6.

and as far as tq. goes, that is seriously low. I dont think that can be right

Yes, your very wrong.

For V6:

310 HP
266 TQ

For 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder:

223 HP
217 TQ

proof

There is way more Torque than your Acura.

Don't ever use Wikipedia if you're going to be a collosal tool. It's still a Hyundai, and you're still a douche.

That's what I've been telling Hyundai but they wouldn't listen..

They don't understand that they will draw more customers by selling the concept design. I said this 10,009,211 times but I'll say it again, the front aero scoops on the bumper and ventilated CF hood and aero CF bumper are the most important ingredients in this car. I said this before but I don't mind paying $$$$$$$$$$$ just for the front scoops... but they wanted to f#@k up.... don't know why but..... :troutslap

It's still no slouch.
It is still a nice design.

You can purchase the , "front aero scoops on the bumper and ventilated CF hood and aero CF bumper", aftermarket.

If they incorporated those features into the stock car, the car price would go up considerably. And not everyone want those " front aero scoops on the bumper and ventilated CF hood and aero CF bumper" looks.

Thats why there is aftermarket, people like you can buy it.

Yeah, the GenCoupe really looks like the latest evolution of the last gen tibby...

Tiburon means shark in spanish, and there's no mistaking the influence of that in the design of the rear windows of the Gcoupe, with it's shark like lower curvature.

I actually think msl is correct, the Geneis coupe, at least from the sides, appears to be more influenced by the 1st gen Tiburon rather than the previous generation.

But wow that 1st gen Tiburon was ugly.
And the 2nd gen doesn't win any beauty contests either.

Errm, what?

The 2nd-gen Tiburon (before the shitty update) was widely lauded when it first hit the market.

The first-gen was a pile of dogshit as a car and as a design concept. I still think the Genesis is more like the 2003-2006 Tiburon than anything else.

Yeah, that's for the Korean Domestic Market IIRC...

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080507....s-korean-debut

Wouldn't make sense to offer a 290hp I4, and a 300 V6 in the same car... Not many people would buy the more expensive V6.

No, the I-4 turbo is "capable" up to 290 hp with boosted psi from stock engine.

But the spec is:

For V6:

310 HP
266 TQ

For 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder:

223 HP
217 TQ.

Period.

Only question now is, how easy will it be to get some more power out of that 2.0T.

I just realized, why the hell is Car and Driver being given a car to test with MUD AND SNOW tires?

.86G on those tires isn't bad. Probably would pull .88-.90 with summers?
