Your FWD with no Torque car resemble more chick car than 300+ RWP coupe.

It might be the next supra or it might turn into the next Subaru SVX (nobody probably remembers that one)...

!!!

A few years ago Hyundai had NO RWD cars.... and zeroday drives a 335i IIRC. Not only does it have 300 rwhp, it also has 300 rwtq.

and what exactly do you drive that has so much balls that you can make fun of 300 lb/ft of torque?

The SVX wasn't a bad car. I think if it had been made with normal windows it would have stood a better chance of succeeding.

Despite all the criticism that the Genesis coupe is getting in this thread, I still can't help but think its still going to be steal of a deal.

Sure the styling is a little bland (especially compared to the orange concept which I loved), but thats to be expected; Hyundai wants to appeal to the masses not just the boy racers.

Look at all the other 300 HP RWD coupes, I wouldn't call any of their styling overly dramatic or "rice." (of course this is the non AMG and non M versions...)

Infact my GF was looking through my consumer reports auto mag and stating how all the cars I had highlighted looked "pretty," "girly" or she said "I'd totally drive that."

Just to name a few which she commented on: new C class, BMW 3 Coupe, and Infiniti G37.

The only two cars she stated were not "girly" or "pretty" were the Evo X and STI... in fact, she told me I'm too old to drive either of those and to grow up and not even think about getting either of those.

I'm not surprised at the way the Gen Coupe turned out since an "attractive car" is one thats neutral to all consumers.

I've NEVER seen any legitimate or valid posts of msl82. He seems like always missing the purpose or point of everyone's posts, then get personally offended, and then attacks that person with some lame ass sarcastic statements.

Wtf is wrong with you msl82? I hope you are not Korean because I would be ashamed if you are.

Sorry for ranting out guys.

Back on topic, I think Hyundai has paid extra extra attention developing this Genesis line since it is possibly the best chance for Hyundai to change its perception from the cheap ass brand to solid & strong brand like how Japanese brands are. I believe with all this crowd hype about this car, if Hyundai fails this masterplan, it would be extremely hard for Hyundai to make any more attempts in regards to upping its brand perception. I mean the quality has been improved drastically for the past years, but the brand image is much more important in bringing somewhat conservative US consumers, and it is definitely not there in Hyundai.

In my opinion, Hyundai did pretty well with building Genesis Coupe just by looking at pictures and specifications, but we still have to actually test drive it to really judge whether Hyundai really did well or not.

Sorry for my possible grammatical errors, it's pretty hard for me since English is my second language

I don't really see too much criticism, in fact I think most of here think this car has the potential to be epic, but we're skeptical of it's sales because we represent the minority (car enthusiasts) and many average consumers have negative connotations of Hyundai, therefore not giving this car a fair shot.

It takes time for people to start noticing good products. Toyota's rep didn't happen overnight, so give it some time.

run on sentence ftw

Take it all in stride.....msl82 is the Automotive News Village Idiot.
If you don't like his brand of back-assward, moronic, downright borderline waterS comments...just ignore him.

I'll still be anxious to see it in person in a normal color like black or white. Hopefully it will be at next year's auto show in my city. It's pricing points will heavily impact how forgiving I'd be on some of the less-than-awsome styling cues I see. On paper it matches up closely with the G37S, and probably, the upcomming 370Z.

Nice car and great color combo Manual, the black really looks great on the IS.

Is the V6 as strong as it is said to be?

Thanks nokiaman! Yea the black on this car looks great. The interior has two tone colors too, black and tan. It's got heated/cooled seats. This thing's got headlight washers too LOL.

Is the V6 as strong as it is said to be?
It's damn quick and responsive. Very responsive considering it's an Auto tranny. 6 Speed with close gear ratios does wonders.. The stock IS350 are able to do 13.3 sec in the quarter mile at 104~ 105 mph.

Don't know... but I say I like them! Looks good, and I don't have to wash the wheels often.

Ok, I'm done posting pics... this is a Genesis thread after all... Sorry if I distracted the thread.

Canadian Pricing

Markham, Ontario – Hyundai Auto Canada has announced that its all-new premium sedan, the 2009 Genesis, will start at $37,995 with a V6 engine and $43,995 for a V8. The Genesis is the company’s first rear-wheel drive performance sedan.

^^^^^ Prices are real cheap. It's like a RL-sized car for the price of a TL. Only the Koreans can pull it off.

Just saw a shipment of these arrive at Hyundai's Fountain Valley, CA Headquarters as I was coming back home from 24 hour fitness. Must say, they look stunning in person, and will probably look even better on the road than they do on the transport truck.

Oh. And BTW. If you dont mind Manual Transmission, can you please stop posting about your IS350. It's getting super annoying. No Offense, but every single Car Talk or Automotive news thread I open has some needless reference/picture to your IS350.

If you really want to talk about your IS350, then go start a "IS350 Leghump thread" in car talk.

I'm happy and all that you love your new car, but speaking on behalf of 95% of Acurazine, STFU.
