I want them to be wider.. but doesn't seem much different from the plastic one we've been seeing. So probably not at this point. Hopefully they do for the production model.

Perhaps, I can't put my finger on it, but it does look different. Maybe that's why it's all camouflaged despite being already shown in the US auto shows.

Sorry it took me so long to respond, but I've been busy. As for your question, I've been working as a service advisor for a Hyundai dealership for about 8 yrs now. I've had the opportunity to see the quality change in the short period of time it has taken & I am very impressed & proud to be a part of Hyundai Motor America.

Very promising.

Too bad though. It's not coming out 4th quarter of this year. That means it's not going to get my money. Time is money yo. More important than anything else.

There is no way in hell I'll be driving a $1000 used car or truck waiting for the Gene coupe... no freakin way.

I'm gonn have to look at Genesis Sedan V8........

Your one of those countless ignorant people who still thinks Hyundai quality sucks. Your one of those people who never even sat in one new Hyundais and make stupid assumptions based on other ignorant narrow minded fools. Its kind of like Blind following the blind.

Why don't you go to Hyundai dealer, or even search about how many Hyundai received JD best initial quality awards.

You're the biggest fucking hypocrite I've ever seen. And I don't see eye-to-eye with joerockt at all, at least when some Hyundais are concerned.

And remember, your Sonata was a copy of the C-Class and Accord.

You never did, but someone else did, you questioned them, and I struck you down.

Please, go back to whatever Hyundai forum you came from. You're not welcome here.

I checked out the second link you posted. Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you're wrong. I'm not taking sides in the discussion between you and msl82.

The NF Sonata project was started back in 1998 when the 6th generation Accord was just introduced. The NF is the current iteration Sonata, FYI.

The Sonata was in the R&D stage first and numerous concepts and prototypes were spotted hinting at the current design cues before the 7th generation Accord (which you claim the Sonata copied) came out. The time table simply doesn't back up your argument.

Plain and simple, it's a design trend in the auto industry. Everybody copies. If you REALLY want to get down to the bottom line, Hyundai deserves credit for the similarity in the design cues between the NF Sonata and the 7th generation Accord.

Thank you.

You need to know the whole context, instead of taking out single element of the discussion.

What happened was, Someone stated that Hyundai Sonata, Santa Fe or Genesis copied other brands.

And I wanted them to show me proof what Hyundai Sonata, Santa Fe, Genesis copied the design from.

Please, Know the whole story accurately before jumping into stupid conclusions.

I just thought about something.

Why don't I just get the Genesis Sedan when it comes out and drive it till the Coupe comes out. I only put about 6 miles a day so the mileage will be super low and I shouldn't loose that much when trading it in for a Coupe aight? Why didn't I think that????????

who knows how much you'll lose since it's a brand new model.

personally, i wouldn't do it. but if you think it's a good idea, go for it.

it would be cool to have an AZ member post pics of his/her own genesis.

So I'm wrong. I never threw around the "Hyundai copied xxx" or "Ford copied xxx" anyways. Someone shot and I shot back. I really don't care who copies who.... since the beginning of the auto industry manufacturers have copied each other in other things besides design. Its a way to stay ahead or keep up with the competition. Its just that when trolls like msl82 or others who say one manufacturer copied the other, its pointless, as we've observed here in this thread and several others that they've trashed with their useless comments.

And to top it all off, the 7th gen Accord rear pre-buttlift looked like garbage anyway I actually thought the Sonata looked better.

Can you not read? I obviously took part in that thread. There is no "whole story," it was available for all to read in that thread. Anyway....

If I was in the market for a large sedan after my M45 sport lease is up, I would definitely give consideration to the Hyundai Genesis sedan. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be in an MDX.

Oh, I know. It's cool; no hard feelings. That's why I finished on the note of saying that it's simply a design trend. We're on the same page.

I'm not saying an MDX is bad, I'm saying it's unfortunate the next car I will be buying will be for needs more than wants. I'm just not an SUV guy, but the MDX is probably one of the most well rounded cars that fits both my wants and needs.
