I like the paint-matching inserts on the seats... clearly seen on both the front and rear seats in pic #2. Don't see that as an option on the Accord coupe....?
I meant pricing. I have no idea about performance. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice car. But it's simply not at the G37 level on the outside, yet.

someone bought a genesis and posted bunch of pics.

i like everything but the wheel.
Someone? Someone!?!? I'm just kidding.

Seriously though, I love my Genesis. The wheels, much like the grill, are best appreciated in person. Just my biased opinion of course.

On a side note, I noticed after applying the Genesis badges that they are slightly different than the Korean version. If you look closely the wings on my badges slope upward, whereas the wings on the Korean market badges are more flat. Someone said they might have done this due to some sort of copyright. I was under the impression I was getting the "real deal", but maybe not? FWIW, I purchased them from Korean Auto Imports: http://www.koreanautoimports.com/sto...110eaf4274bf3f

In the end it doesn't really matter because they seem like good quality and I love the way they look.

I'm in Reno. I picked it up in Roseville. It's a 3.8l w/ Premium Plus Package. The acceleration on the V6 is quite impressive. Very comparable, if not quicker than my old GS430. I fully believe Hyundai's claim that the V6 is only .5 slower 0-60 than the V8. I'm sure the weight advantage helps (the V6 is 250+ lbs. lighter than the V8)l.

Cool..

My guess would be right then. See important information below:

0-60 and quarter mile acceleration:

'09 Genesis 3.8 > 3rd gen Acura TL 5AT

Might be a tad slower than an 3rd gen Acura TL 6MT and Type-S 6MT.

Thanks for the reply.

Goddamn it. I love everything about this car. When does this thing debut in the U.S.?

Maybe I should hold off on trading in the TL-S this winter and wait for this thing to come out...

I thought it was going to be out by then?

As tempted as I am on a daily basis to trade in my Mazdaspeed3 (and I have major upgrade-itis), I'm going to exhibit some self-control and wait two years and then pick up a A5 S-Line used for about $26-28k instead of $45k new. Audi says their lease residuals are 61% after 24 months so I have to figure that's the high side of generous ...

$700/mo depreciation FTL

Shit good point about the depreciation value.

I mean i think $27k for the V6 Genesis coupe would be a great deal, but if depreciation values on that sucker is horrible, I'd bash my head into the dash of the Genesis Coupe no matter how much I liked it.

Guess Evo X it is for a few years. Then maybe I can get the Gen Coupe used for a ton less in a couple years to use as a DD.

But goddamn. Audi's depreciate that much? Ugh...

Yeah for whatever reason Audis don't hold their value at all. I really don't understand why. I guess there's not much demand for used ones?

Depreciation sucks on any car... my CL is worth 1/3 what i paid for it 5 years ago, so as much as I like the Gen Coupe, I think I'll wait till they hit the used car market... My CL is the first car I bought brand new, and I don't think I want to deal with the depreciation hit on a new again anytime soon.

If any one is thinking about doing the same, remember that Hyundai's 100K mile warranty is only available to the original owner. The warranty drops to 5 yr/60K on the second owner

Compared to what, other Hyundais? The Veracruz goes for $37k fully-loaded FWIW.

But seriously, find me another RWD sedan that offers the feature content, horsepower, size, and quality of materials as the Genesis for the same or less money. The G8 is one of the few cars of similar size/power that I can think of that is cheaper. Then again, you can't get any of the following on a G8:

-Bluetooth
-Navigation
-HIDs
-Cooled drivers seat
-Power rear sunshade
-Memory seating w/ full power adjustment
-Lexicon Surround audio system w/ hard drive music storage
-Laminated acoustic windshield/side window glass
-Power tilt/telescope steering wheel
-Etc.

The price range of $32,250 for a base V6 to $41,250 (pre-destination) for a fully-loaded V8 makes this car a hell of a bargain IMO. To put that in further perspective, you can spend that much or more on a 135i or 328i. Granted, the Genesis doesn't have the prestige or the razor sharp handling of the BMWs. Then again, they don't have the space, comfort, or ride quality of the Genesis. It's all about priorities.

That thingie in the middle of the grill is the antenna for the adaptive cruise control system....

That grill looks much better than the U.S. version... Me don't like US version.. ugly as hell.... or I want the H badge grill. Now that's the killer.

I don't like that HiDs aren't standard or that I have to pay $4k for the package to get them.

I hate marketing! HATE IT.

eventually these can be had for around 27k-36k in spring. we almost bought a 06 sonata v6 for 18.5k. that was almost 5k off. we didn't buy it, but man they were trying to get it off the lot like they don't even care. they were selling azeras at 23-25k. if you want a small 4 banger elantra is a great buy because it can be had for 14.5k OTD. that's 3-4 grand cheaper than the best deal you can have for civic and both have same mileage but elantra is much much roomier. santa fe 3.3 can be had around 21k-24k.

bottom line it's not a good time to buy a genesis right now. hyundai will sell them 27k-36k around spring time. now that's a great fuckin deal.

The grill Hyundai used IS the non-adaptive cruise control KDM grill. The grill above looks too much like the refreshed Sonata IMO. At least see it in person first.
