Got to drive a Genesis today. Really cool salesman. Anyway, the car was very nice. It was the V6 with no nav, but it was quiet as can be; perfect for an older guy who just wants a luxurious ride with no noise. The V6 is fairly brisk but nothing to write home about. It is very smooth and has decent power but not neck-snapping or anything. The interior of this thing is fairly impressive (though I don't like the blue screen of the radio; looks a little cheap). Hopefully the nav will fix that up. The car had a pretty trick rear window shade that retracts when put into reverse. The leather dash was a nice touch but there was some cheap plastic on the center console (but no worse than the cheap plastic on my G37). All in all I'd say it was a very nice car for someone in the market for a lixo-boat. Not my cup of tea, but enough to make Lexus nervous, I think. You guys should check it out. Hyundai is on the move....

If you want to put down insane power, go for the I-4. If you want a daily driver that can get you moving quicker stock-to-stock, then get the V6. Our V6s are very solid. The 3.8L V6 is already powering the Veracruz, Entourage, Azera and of course, the Genesis sedan. I've driven all four, some more than others, and they are silky smooth with very good power. In fact, they have been reviewed as "I thought this was a Toyota engine." "Even better than Toyota engines." by renowned car magazines.

As car enthusiasts here, it just depends on what you are looking for. If you plan to modify to the stratosphere, then I really would say go for the I-4. Though it has less power in stock trim, the potential is higher, because it will have a much bigger aftermarket support base. The V6, while very good, is currently lacking aftermarket support and upon launch of the car, I think aftermarket companies will be focusing more on the I-4, anyway.

Since you work for Hyundai, do you know if nav will be offered with the Genesis coupe???

As much as I was sick of msl82's comments, you bashing on him is going about the same spot. So cut it. We haven't seen his post for a while now.

I did this photoshop at work today (slow day)... If the headlights came out like this, the car would be perfect in every way. After I did it, I noticed that the headlights kind of resemble the Sedan headlights...

I hate lexus..

i wish it was more like bmw..

but hyundai decided to go lexus route. many say it's somewhere between infiniti and lexus, but just read that post. it's a quiet car. basically v8will feel more like ls460. which isn't bad, but i wonder if it is fun to drive.

still a great looking car though. there are 5 of them on the lot in local dealer. i'm gonna test drive it soon.

And besides, this thing comes closer to being a true flagship sedan than anything that Acura's thrown out to the market in its 20+ years history.

Manual, can you confirm?
Yes, I drive my Lexus IS350 Sport. It's an '08 model, got it in 5/29/2008.
My local Lexus dealer got me out of my Acura TL lease by purchasing my car. And got me the IS350.

Do tell.
Yes I bought it brand new. I love it man..... The car is gorgeous inside and out. I love the precision and build quality on this thing. I have done some WOT and it pulls like crazy. Been waxing and conditioning my leather every other week. It's a Sport Package so it comes with Sport Tuned suspension, 18" set of wheels, and have NAVI. It's got headlight washers and cooled front seats.

That dude's neck was making me uncomfortable. That said, the Genesis seems like a hell of a car. I love the grille.

I saw the sedan this past weekend. The car doesn't look that gigantic like everybody's saying. If I was in a market for a new car, I'd definitely be interested in Genesis.

The styling is a bit deceiving. The Genesis doesn't look that big, but it's exactly the same size as a regular wheelbase S-Class.

FWIW, the Sonata doesn't look like the biggest car in it's class either (full-size, along w/ the new Accord), but is is.

The coupe is more bland than the sedan...the sedan looks more refined.
