even if it looks either like a Saturn, RL, or a BMW, this car will sell because of the fact it's a Honda Accord and they're reliable cars.
most of the buying public just buys on this: Accord has a history of being reliable cars, well built, reasonably priced, good resale, fuel efficient, and fun to drive. they don't really care how the vehicle looks.
take for instance the 03-05 Accord sedan, which i thought had the ugliest rearend ever! but, it still sold well and i had to endure seeing that ugly rear a lot from 2003-present. Luckily honda changed the rear of that in 06.
this new 8th Accord sedan though and the coupe look nothing like the older Accords at all though, which could be good or bad.

If one is going to compare the exterior of the new Accord to the Aura...then....
The Saturn Aura > new Accord
The sedan keeps looking worse everytime I see new pics of it.

I actually don't like the chrome door handles...think there's too much chrome going on.

Needs wheels
Front end looks like a Camry redesigned by Dodge
Rear looks like a Sonata

Its as if they want to design better looking cars, so they take cues from Acura, but then they don't want to make Honda cars look too similar to Acura, and as a result they water down the Honda design.
In my opinion, Honda cars have always looked boring (with a few exceptions like the S2k and prelude).
What do I think of the design? It's typical Honda. When the current Gen Accord first came out, everyone said it was ugly. Just wait till you see a few hundred thousand of them out on the roads come this winter. Before you know it, long gone will be the complaints that the new Accords are ugly... instead everyone will just go back to saying "Eh. It's another Accord."

My take on these latest Accord pics...hate those alloys which will be a pain in the a** to clean the brake dust out of, hate the chrome door handles and knowing the history of Accord's horrific ( for lack of a better word ) severely underpowered audio systems im sure that will be another disapointment. Other then that I cant ask for more out of this family sedan which I have owned 4 previous EX V6 models. If I were to purchase one I would immediately modify the three things I mentioned.

Now, this coupe is just BEAUTIFUL! I know that this new Accord sedan/coupe will be a HUGE success! Some of you may not like the looks, but I think they are beautiful, and remember that you are talking about the general public who are probably less of a motor enthusiast than many of you are and these are the people that the Accord is marketed towards.

haha thats true. though for the civic ex coupe they did put in a 320 watt stereo so i hope they at least put a "premium" stereo in the ex models

I didn't notice before that the hood is not flat but it dips in from the fenders - that must of cost of few extra cents on the stamping machine.
Also, in one of those shots it looks like turn signal in the mirror?
