I think if they see its rated as good as the camry in gas mileage they wont ask more questions.
I take it that I am in the minority that does know what they have.

Who knows, had the Avalon come with a 6spd, it might not have that same combination of performance/mileage. But I'm sure the engineers knew what they were doing. I doubt Toyota's sitting there randomly assigning 6spd autos to the Camry and then giving the Highlander and Avalon 5spds.

I know it is a guess but I wonder if Honda will raise the handling/ride on the coupe to the TSX or TL level? As the TSX and TL will both go upline in such soon...

I test drove an 06 and 07 honda V-6 coupe and the too soft or not controled ride and lack of SS on the AT turned me off...

It truly is a weak complaint, particularly when there is an available Close-Ratio 6-Speed Manual Transmission available to those who legitimately want to shift on their own.

Dang, everyone eat nails for lunch? My main question was on the possible up grade on handling and mentioned the SS in passing. Reason I asked is I am not big on after market handling tunes...

Bye the way TOV has a post on models and colors for the coupe and sedan...not sure if correct...

I always thought hondas first 6AT would be an in an Acura. Maybe they are trying to show up BMW and lexus and saving a 9AT for Acura. Seriously though I bet pretty soon the 6AT will be Acuras as well.

If the automatic transmission goes from five to six gears as we expect, even the V6 automatic models might get close to 30 mpg on the highway.
Doubtful.

Well I mean it wouldnt suprize me. Honda doesnt let things out till the last second on stuff like this. I could see them putting a 6AT in the accord then later putting it in Acuras. I mean if other car companys can there is no reason hondas cant.

They sell a hell alot more accords then they sell TL's...

Historically, when there's a redesign, the accord always goes first, then the cars that are based on it follow...

98 Accord, 00 TL, 01 CL..

03 Accord, 04 TL, 05 RL...

Wouldn't suprise me to see a 6AT in the accord first and then in the redesigned TL...

Interesting factoid; except for the fact that the camry weights ~50lbs less than the avalon but its .5-1 second faster 0-60(depending on who's test you believe) while still getting the same mileage. Seems like another case for the benefit of a 6at.

Sounds a lot like the current one with a few upgrades. However that is just something someone typed up so I am not totally sure I believe it yet.

I think only bluetooth is the one thing that's really new to the Accord.

Honda keeps adding upscale amenities for Accord, I wonder what they will add to TSX and TL to justify price difference.

^ RWD....apparently that's considered a luxury item.

Sarcasm aside, I would like to see RWD offerings from Acura, just to see what they're capable of doing south of the NSX's price tag.

The 2002 Euro Accord (03 TSX) really shouldn't be in that list at all, though

Actually there is no 2003 TSX, TSX was released as 2004 model in April, 2003.
Otherwise, you are correct it is on a different platform then USDM Accord, TL or RL.

There was also no 02 EuroAccord that looks like the current one. The current EuroAccord debut was at the March 03 Geneva auto show. The Japanese version came out a few months earlier.

Agree. It really annoys me how the angle of the headlight in the corners closer to the grille is almost upright, but the metal from the grille going into the hood is at a sweeping angle.

Nitpicking:

1. Panel gap between hood seems abnormally wide.
2. Why no LED tails?
3. Hopefully HID's will be standard on the EX-L V6
4. Smidge too much front overhang.
5. No perf leather?
