My ears feel much better on this page.

I don't think the mods go to the Accord thread that often.....it's not very "exciting".

Honda might be selling more hybrids if it could just get them to dealers. While the 2nd-generation Insight never lived up to sales expectations and production is ending, the Japanese automaker is seeing strong demand for the Accord Hybrid here and abroad. However, there is so much global consumer desire that it can't keep them in US showrooms.

The problem limiting the sales of the Accord Hybrid is its battery pack and its popularity in Japan. "There's a waiting list for the product," said Jeff Conrad, Honda general manager, to Ward's Auto about the sedan's US popularity. While the American Accord is built in Marysville, OH, the batteries are imported from Japan, where the model is quite popular. According to Ward's data, the automaker sold 2,414 examples of the hybrid version from October 2013 to February 2014 in the US, but it shifted 6,000 units in Japan in its 1st 3 months on sale. Conrad also admitted that the constrained supply is limiting the amount of marketing the automaker can do for the hybrid.

Honda spokesperson Chris Martin told Autoblog the company is working on a solution to increase production for the near future. "We are going to resolve the battery issue," he said.

Honda has had a rocky road in launching its hybrids. Conrad admits that the Insight never got much of a marketing push after its launch. The CR-Z faces an uncertain future as well. Sales of it are ending in Europe for the 2015 model year, and Ward's data indicates that Honda only sold 4,550 of them in the US last year.

^ was wondering why the Accord hybrid sales have been low. They need to hire Bob Lutz to attend the weekly battery status meetings like he did on the Volt.

Honda Accord Hybrid Delivers Class-Leading Fuel Economy, But Falls Well Short Of EPA's 47 MPG Estimate

YONKERS, N.Y., May 29, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Consumer Reports fuel economy tests found the Honda Accord Hybrid delivered impressive overall fuel-economy, tying the smaller Honda Civic Hybrid and just below the top-performing Toyota Prius hatchback

The Accord Hybrid's 40-mpg performance on Consumer Reports combined city and highway tests make it a class leader for fuel economy among midsized sedans. Testers found the Accord Hybrid has a very impressive hybrid system that smoothly transitions between battery and engine power. To save fuel, even at highway speeds, the engine willingly shuts off as soon as drivers lift their foot off the gas pedal.

But Consumer Reports' engineers caution that buyers expecting their car to the EPA's figure of 47 mpg posted on the window sticker might be disappointed.

"We've found that the EPA tests often exaggerate the fuel-economy of hybrids," said Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing at Consumer Reports.

Prior Consumer Reports tests of the Ford Fusion Hybrid and C-Max Hybrid also found a significant shortfall between the EPA's estimated highway fuel economy figures and those in CR's own fuel economy tests.

Although the Accord Hybrid delivers improved fuel economy over the non-hybrid version, the Hybrid falls short in other areas of Consumer Reports' testing including ride comfort, emergency handling, and quietness. As a result, the Accord Hybrid scored lower overall in Consumer Reports' tests than the non-hybrid four-cylinder Accord while costing about $6,500 more.

Complete reports and ratings for the Honda Accord Hybrid, Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid, BMW 328d, and Jeep Cherokee Diesel, as well as updated tests for the recently freshened Volkswagen Passat, Honda Civic and Dodge Dart are available now at www.ConsumerReports.org or in the July Issue of Consumer Reports on sale June 3.

A hybrid actually worth driving. Prius may be a little better fuel economy, but it totally sucks in every way possible.

And no one should be surprised that CS didn't match the EPA measurements.

If I can get a Sport with a sunroof, proximity key, and upgraded stereo, then I found my next car. I can deal with my Civic until the '16 is out.

Is Honda trying to kill Acura?

Accord looks so much better. And would look even more gorgeous without that chrome beak.

The only thing that bothers me about Acura (now Honda too) is who in the last 6 years has told them that the chrome beak looks good?

What executive is saying this looks awesome lets add it to Honda now?

Honda and Ford are the two mainstream car companies where the "lower" line has more cache than the upscale line.

I love my Acura, but maybe Honda money is better spent building better H models. I would take a $30,000 RWD Honda Integra any day of the week over anything the A sells.

LMAO! This is like when Aston Martin introduces a car, then a couple months later Jaguar has a better looking car than the Aston.

Real nice job by Honda on the 2016 Accord. The styling of the Accord and the TLX should have been switched... the Accord looks more upscale than the TLX. The silver beak on the Accord is also more tastefully done than the Acura.

The Accord is Honda's bread and butter; if it has to cannibalize the Acura, so be it. As a matter of fact, didn't the Accord, with one product family, already cannibalize the ILX, TLX, and RLX?

ToV has a mockup of an Accord based on Honda's current designs for their crossovers. I like it a lot better, honestly.

It looks like a current EX-L with headlights, fog lights, and grille from the '15 CRV, and wheels from the Sport.

At that angle, I see a lot of 2G TSX

The front grille will take some time to get used to....but the rims, the side profile, the headlights, the rear, they are look excellent. TLX FWD is in even more trouble now...lol...especially if the Accord V6 is getting the DI V6 and 9AT from Pilot. The TLX will need some major changes for MMC.

On the other hand, it's good to see that Honda is not afraid to step on Acura's toes with its Honda models. The latest Honda MMCs and FMCs are really nice, especially the Civic, Pilot, and this upcoming Accord.

Agreed! If most of Acura models are failures, it won't hurt Honda. But if the Civic or Accord starts failing, then there is trouble.

I'm not seeing what you guys are. The front of the car is a step back. That grille is beyond terrible. That same grille design, more or less, is from universally panned 11 Civic, which was quicky replaced with a grille that aligned more closely with the new 13 Accord. So they now throw that same grille design on the 16 Accord?!?!?

And the wheels on the lower end trim are brutal. The Touring and Sport wheels are a bit aftermarket looking for my tastes but not bad. Good news is the back end looks very sharp. Just wish they would have left the front end alone.

Apart from the exhaust tips and the Accord's 5-spoke split wheels (which, I really like!), the TLX looks better. Sorry not sorry.

As for the Accord Coupe, the jury is still out on its grille, but I do like the headlight cluster.

Well, that's how you distinguish the Ford Accord and Honda Mustang apart. The badges.

I don't think anyone has mistaken an Accord for a Ferrari on this board yet...or tried to compare the two visually, at least.
