That concept sketch of the current Accord coupe looks like the final product except for the different front and rear bumpers, plus I never saw an actual Accord coupe in yellow with that ugly wing.
Someone should compare the sketch of the current 7th gen Accord sedan vs the final product, talk about a real real letdown!!! Something went wrong from concept to final conception there.

Thats the concept picture for a tuner accord for SEMA. It was based off the regular coupe, thats why it looks close to the production coupe.
This latest concept looks like it could very easily become another bland accord without quad exhausts, corvette wide rear tires, raised up higher than 3inches off the ground etc.

I don't see any Bentley or Aston in it, but i DO see the A5 coupe and 3 series coupe. Either way it looks great, and let's hope the final product doesn't change TOO drastically.

I think most car companies wait until the middle life cycle of a car to put in extras like LEDs. That way they can say an 06 is improved compared to an 05. Thats why I always figured it be better to get a car in the last year before a complete redesign, that way its got the most stuff packed into it out of the whole car life cycle.

I think it has a lot of BMW in it!

anyway, im hoping this is close to the real thing. the rear has a bit of some lambo gallardo design elements and god i hope it has some 3-series coupe styling or better yet, aston martin. just keep the front overhangs short enough and please dont make it look like the quirky civic, honda!

In any case, this is HOT!

2009? Don't they mean 2008? THe Honda Accord follows a 5 year cycle right? It came out in 2003, got a refresh in 2006, and the new model should be out by the end of next year unless they extended their cycle to 6 years

I doubt the quad exhaust will make it to production, but thats no biggie.
I would love to see it stay a bit agressive. If it's going to compete with the new Altima coupe, its going to have to be. Period.

Because people are looking at the sketch and seeing something that should end up in reality being along the lines of an audi r8 with the vehicle height, tire size, proportions, but its only going to be a fwd car with skinny tires, raised high off the ground, less detail all over which is going to disappoint bigtime.
I don't know why Honda/Acura continue to release sketches. Their concepts shown at the auto shows on the other hand have been great indicators of what can actually be expected in the production versions.

well, there is no way that thing will have that aggressiuve of a drop or wheels, or lower body for that matter. I have to agree with heyitsme, Honda always detunes the design. The true test of a good design is to see it without the aggressiuve wheels and suspension, and if it still looks decent, you know you got a winner. but then again, thats why aftermarket companies are so successful. And if it ain't RWD, don't put an Acura badge on it.

A bold new look for the next-generation Honda Accord Coupe will be unveiled at the January 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.
The Accord Coupe Concept will convey exterior styling cues and design features that provide a first look at the direction the next-generation Accord will take and it promises to set a new benchmark for Accord and for the segment. The Accord is Honda's best selling model in North America, and this vehicle's debut at NAIAS will mark the first time an Accord concept car has ever been shown at a major auto show.

Take it easy on Greenie, he's getting up there in age. He still hasn't realized the CL's been discontinued.
And I think he posted it because the news comes directly from Honda this time.

That car really needs a drop and wheels. Why can't Honda make the car come from the factory with a 2 finger wheel gap at least? just raise the strut housings into the cabin and hide them in the A/B pilars. WTF, we can make Hybrid engines, exotic materials, advanced technology, and we still have these 2 fisted wheel gaps.

What the fuck happened between the time that accord sedan sketch came out and the final production one appeared? Oh my freaking god I would love that concept sedan.
Fucking Honda!!! :raisesfistinair:

The suits got their hands on it.
That and if you look closely enough (and understand marketing strategies) you'll see all the reality is is a base version minus the bodykit.
The two images are very close.
A bit of wheel tuck, slightly lower waistline, tweaked rear passenger window design, entry level wheel design, oh and probably most important of all.........the Type R badging removed!
