Acura: TLX News
6G TLX-S
I hate to say this. But an old fart (S4) can still beat the new kid on the block (Type-S).
S4 > Type-S.

I even doubt Audi dealing with 20inch rims.
6G TLX-S
Say you are driving the spanking new TLX Type-S and stop at a traffic light. An old fart S4 just pull up alongside your car at the same light. You look into the S4 driver's eyes and he starts revving his engine.
Suddenly you wind down the window and shout at him : "Hey let's keep our engine mode in "Normal" only, and no using "Sport" mode. Remember, no cheating !"
Be realistic, when you race someone or someone races you, no one is stupid enough to use the "Normal" engine mode. It is guarantee that everyone will be going all out, and use the highest performing "Sport +++++" mode available in order to win the drag race.
TLX performance will improve with more miles. Audi S4 cannot handle 20inch rims for such performance. people who are into racing. they can put appropriate size rim and tires.
You tube comments are now over 1200 for that video. i am still waiting for resident marketing to chime in.
Audi A6 3.0T that has identical weight with TLX. quarter mile times are nothing to write about and these are professional C&D who can drop at higher rpm.

Top tip, bigger wheels are bad for higher speeds and faster acceleration.
Also, why did you block me? You scurred?

The stock TLX Type-S LOST the drag race fight to the stock S4.
But even if I follow your diversion logic, you still lose the discussion. According to your logic, the Audi S4 cannot handle 20inch rims for such performance. In this case, Audi is super smart by not using 20" rims on the S4 as OEM form, and uses what matches the S4 best for optimal performance to beat the TLX Type-S.

Acura won in Normal mode despite newer vehicle. so it is a draw at this point. remember you have to test in all the modes.
i am sure you have read long term reviews of Honda/Acura vehicles where they gain full 1 second by time reach 100mph.
Acura has style element so it will compromise on ride quality. Audi is lighter and lower quality unreliable vehicle.

Races don't happen in NORMAL mode. You'd know that if you were normal.

do you really think majority of TLX buyers are racing on track?. TLX is faster than S4 in normal mode despite 20inch rims and car completely new.
If car is sluggish in normal driving it defeat the purpose.
what if there are two or three people sitting in car.

Unless you do it on accident . . . 3 years ago driving through Missouri in my 650 GC I caught up with a new Mustang GT. He made a motion as if he wanted to race so I indicated go on 3rd honk of horn. We took off from 60 mph and I stomped him in short order. I then looked and saw I was in Comfort Plus mode. He pulled up and gave me

you know you dont have to be on the track to use track mode.

What excuses will you know who come up with?
Supposedly just barely edges out the Accord 2.0T, so the Sonata N-Line or K5 GT may be able to take it (esp. if you warm up the rubber).

Ah you show up. dont you still not get embrassed that 10% larger engine does not won by 10%.
The only reason people watching and commenting on this videos is TLX. No one bothered by Genesis.
forget about weight and height difference. TLX is 1.3 inch taller and 3 inch wider.
TLX engine compression ratio is 9.8 and i am confident despite single turbo it will improve the timing as more miles put on car.

It is designed from ground up for higher safety.

Ultimately, the design promises to reduce the profound rotational forces that slam brain tissue into the skull during a wreck. Though the bag debuted in the TLX, Acura’s parent company, Honda, has agreed to let other manufacturers use the technology down the line.

So this thing has now lost to an old S4 AND a G70? If it lost to both of those it has no prayer against a M340...what exactly is this supposed to compete with? Massive fail.

This Honda way of developing cars that are more reliable. give it few thousand miles on odometer and performance will improve with time.
This NSX (they had this red one for while) comes with in split second of Lambo Aventador S. NSX is heavier and much taller.

I’m confused. Is NSX considered in the same league as Lamborghinis or Ferrari?
Whats up with RDX owners?
iTrader: (9)
Nope. But even if it was, coming within a "split second" of other cars in that class is still considered losing.
My first Avatar....
Try running a BMW at those speeds that come within split second of Lambo. BMW will need 1000bhp engine to compete with 750bhp of Lambo as Lambo has so much lower height and weight.
Only on NSX you can rely on going all the way to 200mph. the enhanced version of NSX is 2 second faster on circuit.
Cars are now so high powered that old metric of 0-60 and quarter mile no longer apply. Car needs to be heavier to make them safer and when they got heavier. you need bigger tires. and the bigger the tires the more sound deadening needed.
why you think they are testing against more high powered and expensive vehicles.
I dont think @YEH will show up again. seeing NSX.

Honda also said Top speed of Civic Type R is 169mph but it went to 176mph stock and that is 10 inch taller hatch than NSX. Top end speed of Honda cars much higher than competition for far less bhp. it just need few years older on odo meter.
the 320 is UK metric equal to 306 of US bhp. BBC Top Gear racing Civic Type R against Lexus LC500. i am still waiting for @YEH .

I vote that YEH doesn't reply to anything you post until you prove the superiority of the Honda AWD system in a simple contest against a crappy Fiat.

Show me a video of a factory NC1 NSX hitting 200mph.
This 200mph came from Acura. they wont use it if it cannot reliably maintain those speed. There is modified CTR with just 400bhp and already approaching 190mph. NSX is at different level in aerodynamics with total airflow managment.
https://nsx.acura.com/explore/dynamics
Across the driving spectrum, the same systems that deliver high-performance athleticism at speeds approaching 200 MPH provide the same poise and traction management at every speed.

1. Approaching is not the same as at 200mph...
2. reliably maintain those speed? In WHAT condition do you need to reliably maintaining 200mph? Tracks included.

I can also say it is approaching 300mph.... Does it make it a 300mph capable car?
you are not Acura brand representative that can make claims. what they said on website is as accurate you can get.
Just give you the scale of variation in new NSX.
C&D got 22.2 second to reach 160mph with 0-60 in 3.1second.
AE. 0 to 60mph in 3.5 second but at 158.2mph it only took 20.8 Second. it is like 2 second difference at higher speed from slow launch.

Is this the best you can come up with?
The C/D test nos. are out for the Type S and it's slower than the larger/heavier and lux oriented G80.
4.9s vs 4.3s is getting smoked, and this isn't even the G80 Sport, which is forthcomng.
Lol!
When was the last time Honda or Acura won a major auto award?
Not talking about winning a segment, but being named CotY, etc.
The Ioniq 5 just joined the G70, GV80 and Telluride in having won a major award(s).
Of course since he doesn't have a leg to stand on, he brings the NSX into the discussion which has nothing to do with the lackluster performance of the Type S.
While I like the NSX, it didn't have the impact of the original and the Ford GT completely stole its thunder.
While can still get the NSX at a discount, prices of used GT's have shot up.

G80 use twin turbo engine with 3.5L capacity and still it lose out on 5-60 mph rolling start. C&D hasnt done 0-130 time for G80 3.5.
TLX can pull 0.96G on 255 series tires with such long wheel base. show me any other vehicle that can manage it?. TLX is next level of safety technology.
some thing is wrong with 2021 TLX type S numbers as it has much better start and still have identical 0-130 timings of old TLX FWD.
The old TLX manage this timing despite slow start.

Honda priced NSX higher for European consumers. just like Honda CRV is priced higher than Acura RDX for Europe. Honda Civic Type R is even higher in Europe despite being built there.
These are 2016 base prices. current prices of loaded NSX is closer to $350K in Europe.
