Safety Car
I just read 400 of the original posts from this thread in 2003. Months before the 3G model had a press release. Oh my Gosh, People were falling all over themselves thrying to get at one of the "New" 3G TLs!
Acura if you're reading this, bring back the golden 3g design.
People here here are ho-humly kciking tires and are generally non-enthusiestic about the TLX Type-S like people were about the 3G. Don't Believe me? Read back from the beginning.
The true human spirit and passion showed in the age of the 3G. Get one.

LOL it looks like they are not even in the same class in term of acceleration...
I thought they have the same 2.0T and 10AT?

NSX and TLX did well considering NSX is half the power of Plaid.
TLX will improve once engine has more miles on it. NSX need power upgrade. around 700bhp will be enough.

Interested to see what the tuners can extract from the TypeS engine. They are getting crazy power out of other Honda turbo engines so can't imagine this will be any different.

My first Avatar....
I have zero desire to own a fat tlx.

Haha the Type S even has the "aftermarket" intercooler look in the front. I think it looks good. But again, wish Acura would have given it more performance. 355hp in that segment is weak.

My M5 is a fatty (about the same weight), but has a helluva lot more power to push around all that mass. Someone at Acura missed the memo on power to weight ratios.

Acura designed a good looking car (finally), yet they didn't wanna go for a home run by giving it more performance. 355hp 0-60 in 5s to mid 5 secs is very respectable #s. But in that particular segment in 2021, it needs more.
and it is not like they have a higher trim model they have to worry about like M340i vs. M3. They could just go all out.

Lol...well I hope the civic si isn't a disappointment.
TLX is around 4.5 second car and will be closer to 4 second when it reach 40,000mile.
it does not need 275/285 width tires to generate high gs.
they are getting under 5 seconds on all season tires.

Having spent the last three days driving this thing, I can truly say I never knew the weight. Out of everything I know, never even checked the weight. With that being said, it hides its mass like a magician. I had no idea it was over 4200 lbs! It easily feel is like a 3,300-maybe 3,500 lb car. The SH-AWD, excellent turbo response, and that 10 speed, it could never feel like a Charger even though they are closer in weight than I thought. That shows you what true engineering and attention to detail can do to hide mass.

Well...Acura says it's a 5 second car so I'm going to go ahead and believe them.

A new, red A-Spec TLX was driving behind me today and then I saw it from the side and rear and I must say I was quite impressed. It looked good. Acura has come leaps and bounds from the ugly ass past few generations of TL beak atrocity.

It's definitely a good looking car. Has a really low/wide stance on the road.

Im not crazy about tail lights but the front looks really nice, especially that all black one shown above

It is an excellent looking car. Why did it not come with 400hp even at least.

that Audi is old and most probably several thousand miles on it as i have seen that car in early videos.
TLX manage to keep up in normal mode which most people will drive around.
