Meh - looks like a 90's car. Great for its time though.
TLX looks fine, not spectacular but attractive. Does a current 3 series or A4 win design plaudits, me thinks not. Let's stop hyperventilating, Acura is attempting to mend fences, and I think they are getting back on track here.
Wheels (if they are stock) def need to be swapped out. Hidden exhaust, sorta weak too, but not a deal breaker for me. I'm more concerned with spreading lame dual screen set up that makes HVAC adjustments less than intuitive on our MDX. No likey.

They may have the material laid out, but its not quite up yet. Acura cant get by with "well its a step in the right direction", They have missed the mark design wise for some time now. They needed the home run with the RLX, at best they bunted and just got to first base, The ILX, that has been a 4 balls 2 strikes for a lucky walk to first, The TLX for the most part it looks good "but" so far from what we have seen id give it a safe 2nd base, possibly a 3rd base steal. They KNEW they needed to change direction and get back on track but they havent with the same issues that have given them a hard time with the previous models. And dont get me started on the marketing. A 5th grader with windows movie maker could make better commercials that got your attention
BUT Acura is taking a step in the right direction by finally admitting they have issues. As they say, acceptance is the first step to recovery.

I think the new Genesis looks great, but suspect it is probably too heavy for my tastes.

So of those brands you've listed, I see five less reliable marques and one that is significantly more expensive for the same size vehicle. Just guessing.

I pretty much agree with everything you are saying and we're on the same page. I wouldn't even call the RLX a bunt, its a strike out. They can't even sell a first year model run without boatloads of incentives.

If the RLX is a strike out, the ILX must be the player that got hit in the head by the ball, has a slight concussion but is acting like nothing is wrong, and is stumbling around trying to make its way to 1st base.

Unfortunately, people LOL at the Genesis because it's a Hyundai. Hyundai's reputation is pretty awful. The opposite of the "Cadillac" repuation.
e.g.: "Win the Super Bowl and drive off in a Hyundai"
"What you really crave is a Hyundai and a simple gold heart on a chain."
Time to get serious about the "Genesis" brand.

@ LOL-ing @ genesis...
I think its one of the car company which is definitely headed in the right direction...the Genny and EQUUS are really awesome cars....we hope to own either of them in a year or 2....
I hated the interior of the Genesis and they solved that issue in the new 2015 model...also they added AWD, I think its a sign from above

Can we go with football or basketball metaphors instead?
The Genesis doesn't yet have the prestige of Mercedes or BMW, but it hasn't got the reliability rep of Range Rovers either.

I would agree with you 5-6 years back...hyundai is targeting all the sections very very well...
you can talk about Mercedes and BMW all you want, but they dont have good reputation either...look up reviews and you will see nothing looses car value like a german car...the minute its out of warranty, you pocket is out of cash

Hyundai has its own shares of issues for the past few years (i.e. claiming false EPA ratings, power ratings that don't quite back up actual real world performance, etc). But it's hard to ignore the fact that the Genesis is a pretty good deal for what you get with the money you need to pay.

I don't see the Genesis stealing any more from its competitors than they do each other at this point.

I totally agree...
Hyundai and Kia were the 2 companies which I thought were directly stealing design ideas from high end companies...but now I think both the companies are coming out with fantastic interior and exterior designs....

I'm not really a fan of the IS or Q50 but I'm sure there certainly are people that would cross shop the IS/ES and the TLX.
I didn't even mention Lincoln's MKX or Cadillac's ATS either ... In that price range it's brutal and based on those pictures Acura seems to be going for the ES350 crowd instead of the Japanese sport sedan market.

^^^ the genny will not be close to 60K (unless I misunderstood you)...
I have been reading and the new one will be closer to 40K and will have AWD (for the V6 model, current year model is at 35K for RWD and V6)

Hypothetically speaking, you are in the market for an AWD "red carpet athlete", which one do you buy in 2014 staying under $45 gizzle?
