Better than the 4G yes, but I am completely stunned at how bland it still looks. I really thought they'd nail it with the concept, but just the little touches that were taken away make all the difference. And that front overhang...

Some dude
Those "hidden exhausts" look super cheap.

I guess I like bland but I really think this is some proper wheels away from being a very nice looking vehicle. But it doesn't matter what I think, the questions is, is this enough to give Acura sedan sales the shot in arm in needs?
Because considering the other offerings this is ALL Acura has left.

Looks like they neutered the bumpers. The concept also appears to have a lip kit all around. Paint color helps too.

I agree that the paint color helped the concept...the shadows of all the flowing curves are much more visible. --And of course, black and white cars on a cloudy day conspire to make all of those highlights and shadows disappear.
To me it looks like a 1G TSX in the profile -- in the front half. No giant exaggerated wheel arches. 2G in the rear half, with the bulkier tail.
I hope they will do something to brighten up those dull, lifeless dark red tail light plastics...another thing that appears to have more detail in the concept.

Personally, I still like it. It's pretty clear they had the A4 in their sights when designing the TLX.
The one thing I wanted to see is the lights actually in use, I'm hoping that everything is LED like the concept.

The headlights are too small and dont flow well with the front of the car, the rear is super bland, especially with the stupid hidden exhaust, and the wheels are hideous.

Those can't be the wheels for production model.
No....

Looks good, a combo of 1G TSX, 3G TL and 2G IS. Waiting for the TypeS comeback.
Hopefully the handling will be super competitive.

Oh god they neutered the look from the concept. Noooooooooooooo.... Nononononononono
But I knew they'd do that.

It looks like a slightly better RLX to me. Acura kept using marketing buzzwords like "red carpet athlete" "low and wide stance" and this production reveal does not fit any of those descriptions.

This looks so much better than RLX. What you talking about?

you guys knew this was going to happen, it's SOP for any manufacturer to tone down the concept.

Still looks OK, just more milquetoast than it was.
They can redeem themselves by
a) adding the pieces from the concept as a body kit, ala past A-Spec efforts, or as a higher trim (TL-S?)
b) Add that gorgeous red color to the palette. Wowwwwwwww.
c) even better: just release the concept unchanged. Don't go milquetoast on us, Acura!

Knowing Acura/Honda, we'll get these wheels while China will get better looking wheels + a TLX with slightly revised and better looking styling because China's a new emerging market for them and Acura will feel the need to step up their game there to get buyers interested in their cars.

A guy at TOV is saying this is the Russian or Chinese version (this is the same guy that told us that NSX is getting a longitudinally mounted turbocharged V6 engine before the concept came out).
And here's one with photoshopped wheels:

no matter what this TLX is a step in the right direction with regards to looks. i could never completely sell myself on the looks of the newer TL.

The sizzle in the Steak
Clearly much better than the 4G TL.
That being said, leave it to Honda to dump a truck load of vanilla onto a concept.
This car is getting real close to anonymous styling territory.
Hopefully some good wheels can help it.

It definitely has the potential to look pretty sexy with larger wheels/tires and slight drop. We, car enthusiasts, can see that and consider that in the buying process.
Would the average buyers consider that when they are cross shopping this with BMW 3 series/Audi A4/MB C class/Infiniti Q50?
Not too sure.
If Acura REALLY wants to get back into the game, they need to make this car to stand out both the design package AND the numbers from the factory in any trims.

6G TLX-S
They need to bring back the Type-S trim, or even better, bring in a new Type-R trim.
