I never said RDX is upmarket vehicle. It needs to go upmarket in design, interior and 6speed Auto. It is on sale since August 2006. so it is 5 year old already.
In FWD RDX C&D test it achieved 136mph top speed and 21mpg fuel economy.
It does no suck in fuel economy when you look at performance numbers a for tall wide vehicle that is heavier than TSX-V6. Tires are also tall 235/55/18. Most of its competitors have 6speed.
Most harhsest critics said its turbo engine is the best from its sound and boost.

Last night I watched Speed Test Drive: 2011 Acura TL SH-AWD

I know by now this show is basically a paid advertisement for whatever vehicle they "test", but still, I had to LMAO when both guest drivers claimed to love the styling. Seriously guys...

Tighter turning radius than an A6...like anyone is going to care when looking at a TL. He must be grasping at straws and couldn't find anything else to say.

I don't mind the styling of the 4G TL to be honest, it's grown on me. Also I have friends who loved the 3G TL and love the 4G TL even more. Then again I have other friends who find the 4G TL to be awful.
I do think that the car could have been smaller.

Bigger TL has much better road presence.
R&D long term 6MT TL-SHAWD is getting over 20mpg. PS2 tires are already done at 22k miles.
http://blog.roadandtrack.com/long-te...ean-generator/
Our Acura TL has proven to be a great everyday car. It has lots of room for passengers and junk alike. A combination of Acura’s Super Handling All Wheel Drive, a reasonably satisfying V-6 and a 6-speed manual transmission have made it a pretty good driver’s car too. But how does it work as a generator? Or an air-conditioned refuge from blinding summer heat? Would the roomy confines of the TL start to induce cabin fever after consecutive days strapped to its supportive seats? We turned the Acura TL into our mobile online headquarters for Sam Mitani’s recent land speed record attempt to find out.
For four days, Online Editorial Director Jennifer Degtjarewsky and I lived out of the Acura. Much of that time was spent lurking in front of the Wendover McDonalds, the town’s quickest internet connection. Curiously, while the Micky D’s was sporting wireless internet, it wasn’t plug-friendly, so the poor Acura was called to duty. Forget SH-AWD and a manual transmission, we needed the Acura’s alternator to keep our laptops alive while the a/c did the same for us. Comfortable seats, satellite radio, lots of legroom and a quiet cabin kept us from going nuts during our 6-hour (!) video uploads. Prior to Sam’s record runs, the Acura was also used to juice the battery of the Suzuki, ignominiously tethered to the car like a mobile IV stand as the Kizashi trudged its way through the lineup at Bonneville. Honda makes a mean generator, what can I say?
I’m happy to report the Acura happily absorbed every indignity we threw at it. It took two vigorous washings and a $70 carpet shampoo, but our long term TL is looking as good as new and ready for the next road trip.

SSFTSX you like the styling of the TL?

I think the 4G TL has a fantastic profile. I kind of like the back. It looks more substantive compared to the 3G. It looks like a luxury car. The 3G more upscale, like a Maxima.
However, the front I cannot get over. The grille is horribly implemented. If it looked like TSX (up front) it would be a much better looking car.

Funny, I always felt the Maxima, at least the current Gen one, looked more like a luxury sedan from a distance then the new TL does. I guess thats just me.

I still prefer TSX small size and styling but if your comparing TL to some othere in its size class like MB E/Lexus ES-GS/Infiniti M/BMW 5/Audi A6
TL is far superior product in both interior and exterior design, handling, breaking, NVH, fuel economy for AWD system.
Who knows i may jump to TL if proper MMC is implemented like Front LED lights, more aggressive styling, 6AT, advance package. I am not expecting thos things in $30K TSX but expect them in $45K TL.
TL needs this kind of front with Japanese Colors. there is difference between both Palldium Metallics.

ehi! you forgot the Jaguar XF too....

You can put Infiniti M and Jaquar XF in same design bucket when yo look at real life comparision pix. both are very poorly designed. Any car that lacks sharp squarish look is poorly design. nothing earth shattering in handling and NVH department. Even Hyundai can design a long boat at reasonble price. BMW/MB/Audi need M/AMD/RS division to match TL handling for size.
Always remember that 74.3 inch wide and 195 long TL size. TL hides its size well.
same TL Sh-AWD style rims.

Even to the black holes and the extinction of the dinosaurs, I'm sure.
But I will take 1500 times better an XF (XF-R if you please too) on a TL.
Have you EVER sat inside a Jaguar XF?
Have you EVER driven one?
I'm sure not, my friend.

(forget about aerodynamcis/handling mesh with squarish edges with wind and tire noise reduction).
There is nothing scientific behind expensive interior or material. Acura just has to charge $60K for it. It is good they didnot went overboard and priced stayed at $40K.
that poor design is reflected in high NVH and low handling. that despite having 6speed auto transmission that lowers rpm at 70mph compared to 6MT or 5AT of TL-SH-AWD. I am not going into long term reliability and heat insulation.

Well long term verdict (Long term interms of 1 year not like 10 or 20 years).
Jaguar has produced rattles, eating tires and brakes at rate no other comparable car, fuel economy way low down 16.7mpg despite having torquey engine, 6speed and no AWD losses. and these are all long drives most of the time. There is no long term investment in platform to minimize cost to consumers. everything works but design poorly.
Interior design that looks 1990s Land Rover.
Not even brake or tire replacement.

During its year-long stay with us, the TL made three service stops. The first ($92.26) and third ($113.04), at around 6000 and 19,000 miles, respectively, consisted of an oil change, full inspection, and tire rotation. The middle maintenance ($229.62), at roughly 14,000 miles, included the above check items and added a change of the rear differential fluid. All told, our service tab came to a respectable $434.92, with $0 coming out of our wallets for normal-wear cost. The gas bill, as well, wasn't too depleting, thanks to average fuel economy of nearly 20 mpg.

Yup. i dont have clue. bankrupt firms simply dont have that in depth R&D. they just want to make biggest blind splash with highest horsepower, most expensive interior (without looking at functionality & eye sight) and most striking design. that striking design is simply there limited R&D.

you can pretty much bet on TL that with 6speed auto. its NVH levels will go down below BMW 5 series. (just look at MDX figures).
It is not just Motortrend but C&D, Automobile have similar problems with Jaguar XF. dead batterires, rear sunshade stop working, leaks, rattles, brake and tires tossed with in first year. R&T was lucky that tires got blasted by pot holes so excuse was made to replace them all instead of wearing it down, backseat room etc. whole thing is poorly design. It is not long term buy but Lease for 24months disposable car.
this car has same large wheelwells like Infinit M.
http://www.insideline.com/bmw/5-seri...f-premium.html
But the challenging yet compelling appearance of the XF might not be enough to overcome the car's design shortcomings. Big wheels sure do fill up wheelwells, but they also diminish any semblance of a supple ride.
